There is a workout area, park, and pool area for young kids and a full pool area as well. Upon entry we were immediately turned off as staff are all rude from the front desk to the lifeguards. The woman at the front was so brash. Cost Warrenton locals: $6 kids and $7.50 adults for the pool area, playground is free. They have family lockers and rooms to change in which is really cool. Everything is clean. Pool area isn't ventilated well and needs fans. It's more humid inside than out on a hot day. They also have minimal seats with broken chairs if you're a bystander. There are three lifeguards on duty which makes you feel secure in the size of the play area, some of them however have their feet kicked up and are talking to each other on walkie talkies so not sure how much attention they are paying to the kids. The kids had lots of fun inside and outside. Loved going down the big slide and playing in the water area. It is a good break for the kids and I would recommend it, as long as you know all the rules and regulations ahead of time.

Seating along the pool areas is ample and allows for parents/caregivers to easily supervise. I was especially impressed with how many lifeguards were on duty and how attentive they appeared to be. The desk staff were helpful and very friendly. We live on Miami Beach, so swimming inside is pretty foreign to us. That said, we really enjoyed the center and feel fortunate to have it as a fun option while visiting family!

There is small kid playground and a big kid playground right next to each other. There's a paved path around the park. I'd say about 1/2 mile long. A couple picnic tables, a shelter, a restroom facility with flushing toilets, and a basketball court with a stack of stadium seats. The horseshoe pits are in the shade and may need a quick clean up before use. Hard to maintain horseshoe pits unless it gets a lot of action. It's also just up from the public library so get a book and settle in under the trees. I tried to research Eva Walker and found nothing online, but thats strange because we also have a Walker Drive close by. I guess sooner or later I'll stumble across the story and add to this post. Green grass, shady trees and a nice park all around. Come enjoy!

It's always been a pleasant lake/park. There are some okay trails here, yet what it's all about is…read morethe water. Germantown Lake is quite nice. As for the fishing, a lot of snags. You can rent paddle boats, and quite a few kayak here. Yet the fishing isn't all that. It certainly is beautiful in some areas, but I wish more fish opportunities. Crockett Park is owned and managed by the county. This is impressive. What I usually do here is go during astronomy nights, with a group called NOVAC. Light pollution is less of a problem than say the DC area. A very nice group of men and women. Parking is never a problem, and it is a family friendly place.

There are picnic areas and even one spot by the water reserved for Seniors/handicapped. There is neat play area for children, a snack bar, and boats for rent. There is a great up station, climbing wall, nugget couch pieces, small ball pit, stage, large animals, tumbling mat (I think?), and lava tiles. Tons to do and lots of space to burn off energy. Downstairs there is a town area with a pizza place, school, fire station, etc. each small room is set up accordingly with everything the imagination needs. There is a kitchen area (with sink) for folks to eat in with lots of little chairs. My daughter's favorite room was not far from here--little grocery store area, ice cream cart, taco truck, and garden with little flowers to plant and a hose to pretend with! Parking was ample. The price is fair and there is so much to do - imagination play, dress ups, crafts, etc. Make sure you check the website before your visit to double check the hours for the week. Also follow them on social media to see busy days where you'll have to pre-buy a ticket online. I'm so glad to have this gem of a play place nearby for our kiddos!

Northern Fauquier Community Park opened some time earlier in the year. I've been interested in this…read morepark for a while as it looks really nice when driving by on Route 55. But it was closed last time I went through Marshall as construction was not yet completed. It's located just off of Route 55 just east of beautiful, downtown Marshall, VA. It's open now, I visited yesterday as my neighbors were holding a birthday party for their 3 year old daughter at the park. They reserved a covered pavilion which had plenty of tables, a grill, and was close to lots of playground equipment for the mass of writhing kids attending the party and now running amok through the park. The park offers a lot of park amenities - from the park web site: "Open year-round, the park boasts 8 athletic fields including baseball, softball, soccer and football. The park also features two concession stands, 8 picnic shelters, an amphitheater, three playgrounds, a two mile paved multi-use trail, 3 indoor restrooms, fishing lake, meeting room and plenty of beautifully landscaped open space. Recreational programs are available for your enjoyment." I plan to come back to walk and hike, fish the lake, and maybe even grill out some time!

This park was one I had not yet been too and today I was on my own, so, NFCP it was! Pulled into the office area on the left at the enterance and read the map. 1.75 mile trail. Perfect. I wan't the only one out jogging in the rain either. - I was impressed that this park has 4 different locations with playground equipment. One with swings. 3 right next to restrooms that are actual builings. Not porta potties. I think I counted 2 consession stands next to 2 of the 4 playgrounds. Many shelters and standup grils to use. Some of these grills look huge! Very impressive; especially in the shelters by the lake. picnic tables outside the shelter areas as well. Also on site is an ampitheatre. I'm pretty sure this place gets crowded in the spring and summer just like the Warf in Warrenton. Today...it was not. - While jogging I could hear the trains whistling in the near distance. Ducks/geese wadling and quacking nearby. Even with the fog and being December you could see the beautiful ( I think ), Hawthorne trees (?) with their bright red berries. I had to google the tree. It was so pretty. -Check out my pictures but please note--It is Dec 26th and very foggy with a drizzling rain! If I hadn't already mentioned that!

It's full of geese (read: goose poop), there are wasps by the canoe/kayak…read morerentals (which is right by the watercraft launch area), and there are no trash bins so of course people leave trash behind. Very unfortunate. Nice small lake that would be great for paddle boarding if not for the other points. I had high hopes. There are better spots in NoVa.

There is a trail along the property that says it is for "HOA Use Only" - so not usable for visitors. The small park is bounded by Vint Hill Road on one side and a rapidly industrializing site on the other. All in all a disappointment- I expected better from Fauquier County- it feels like Prince William County.
