While in Virginia we opted to take the kids to this city center. It's really appealing and looks well taken care of. There is a workout area, park, and pool area for young kids and a full pool area as well. Upon entry we were immediately turned off as staff are all rude from the front desk to the lifeguards. The woman at the front was so brash. Cost Warrenton locals: $6 kids and $7.50 adults for the pool area, playground is free. They have family lockers and rooms to change in which is really cool. Everything is clean. Pool area isn't ventilated well and needs fans. It's more humid inside than out on a hot day. They also have minimal seats with broken chairs if you're a bystander. There are three lifeguards on duty which makes you feel secure in the size of the play area, some of them however have their feet kicked up and are talking to each other on walkie talkies so not sure how much attention they are paying to the kids. The kids had lots of fun inside and outside. Loved going down the big slide and playing in the water area. It is a good break for the kids and I would recommend it, as long as you know all the rules and regulations ahead of time. read more

We are seasonal locals and in the area during winter and summer breaks. Somehow, this summer was our first visit to the Aquatic center. Impressed! We found it to be clean with ample space. Seating along the pool areas is ample and allows for parents/caregivers to easily supervise. I was especially impressed with how many lifeguards were on duty and how attentive they appeared to be. The desk staff were helpful and very friendly. We live on Miami Beach, so swimming inside is pretty foreign to us. That said, we really enjoyed the center and feel fortunate to have it as a fun option while visiting family! read more

Been going on and off for years. Brought my kids there when they were young and I've taken water aerobics there. It would be nice if more times were offered for classes but at least there's one Saturday morning class. Late afternoon and evening classes would be useful for those that work. Staff is friendly. Water aerobics classes are ok. Sometimes it feels like the instructor is rushing. As soon as you start a set they move onto a different exercise. It's quicker to do a movement on land than it is in the water. Because of that, I notice many people just do their own thing. And the instructors are hard to hear especially if you're completely to one side. Not everyone can be in the middle. You get out of it what you put in but the whole purpose of going to a class is for the instruction. I can go to a pool and do my own thing, I'm paying for the instruction. Having the toddler swim lessons in the big pool while having the adult water class is not the best idea. I understand the other pool was closed for whatever reason but cancel whatever you had over there or move the times. You've got parents and toddlers there for swim class, parents and toddlers there to just play (hanging out on the steps bc their toddler is afraid, waters too deep, etc an employee did ask one parent to move bc it's not ideal to hang out on the steps) and you've got about 15 older adults there for water aerobics....really? Adjust the times. read more

We wanted to go to indoor pool during April (for spring break), and this was the closest one that was actually open with a kids section during the week. There is a fee for out of towners and locals. If I lived in Warrenton I would definitely join! There are about 4 family/private bathrooms with a small bench, baby changing table and shower. I wish there was more hooks for towels and a red/green open/closed sign on the lock, otherwise it was clean enough for us to change and shower after. The small water slide/play area was great for those 0-5 years old, about 1 foot deep at most. Next to it is a small but powerful lazy river and a whirl pool ish area. Definitely keep an eye and hand by the young ones. Water is set to about 80 degrees in the leisure pool, definitely enjoyable even in cool weather. The best thing is the hot tub/ spa which is very spacious! I loved it. Early morning was mostly young kids with their parents or grand parents and retirees (I presume and hope to be one day). In a building/section separate from the leisure pool is a larger swimming pool with lap lanes. I didn't get to explore everywhere, but there are a few bikes along upstairs and an exercise studio. Afterwards we spent time in the all abilities playground next to the center. There is also a skate park with ramp and what looked like an ice rink. read more

It is so beautiful and amazing so awesome has the best pools and hot tube and such heartwarming staff and kind caring loving and hard working and passionate loyal loving staff and great lifeguards and I feel right at home and so unbelievable and incredible place plus they have a walk tail and so you can get some fresh air and plus it is best I highly RECOMMEND IT! You work out there and so flexible and plus the school goes there during the year and I love this place so much and peaceful and fantastic and fabulous and I love coming here and I could come more more. I absolutely LOVE this facility! I focus almost exclusively on the group classes so I can't speak to the cardio/weight room. It looks nice, but small. The bathrooms and locker rooms are always clean and well stocked, and members do a good job of cleaning up after themselves. There is even a bathing suit dryer! Everybody on the staff is welcoming, friendly, and super helpful. I've never been made to feel bad about asking questions or needing assistance. In fact, all the members have been amazing, too! Maybe it's because Warrenton is such a nice place, but everybody here seems very laid back and truly invested in getting a good workout. The focus isn't on what you wear or how you look, it's really about having fun and getting/staying healthy. The pools are clean, well staffed, and always feel great (as does the spa). The classes offered are outstanding. Now that they've implemented virtual Les Mills classes, there's always something to take. There are classes with instructors offered morning and evening, then virtual classes are used to fill in the afternoon and even 8 pm for night owls. I've always been bothered by gyms not offering classes on Friday evenings (I know, most people don't want to go then) or weekend afternoons. Virtual classes mean something is offered even in those off times! And, I adore almost every Les Mills program. Here are the details of classes I've taken, for anybody interested. Pound (instructor) - This class is HARD. Yes, it is for any fitness level (trust me, I'm a big girl) but you need to be ready to work. You will squat and lunge almost the whole time, and it is high cardio. It kills me, but I make myself do it because I know it's good for me. The instructors are all very encouraging, and the other students are also struggling, so you're never alone :) Body Flow (Virtual) - This is a mix of yoga, Tai Chi, and Pilates. I'm not a fan of the 30 minute class, but I like the hour session. It's a more relaxed pace than the condensed class. Since it's virtual, you might want to have an idea about how to do the poses before going into the session. Body Pump (instructor or virtual) - This is my all-time favorite class! It gives you some cardio work with a lot of strength building using hand weights, bar, or body weight. The instructor I've had in the 5 pm Thursday class is outstanding. If you've never done this, I recommend taking it with an instructor first so you can ensure proper form. Once you're comfortable with the moves, the virtual class is great. Zumba (instructor) - Honestly, I've never taken this at the WARF. However, I LOVE Zumba. It's a great cardio workout and really a lot of fun. Don't worry about catching on right away, everybody makes mistakes. Just keep moving! H20 Power Walk (instructor) - Don't let the Lazy River fool you, this class is a workout! You will run with and against that very strong current, use water weights, and utilize a kayak style paddle. This is a full body workout. I know this review is ridiculously long, but I hope it helps somebody looking for a great facility. I've been a member of several gyms and yoga studios in Richmond, moved here, and was looking for something with Les Mills. This place has exceeded my expectations, and it is run by the town. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that I find it a bit pricey. I feel like the monthly fee should probably be about $10 less than it is. read more

The pool at the warf is ridiculously run. I'm all for safety but there are So many silly rules that it really keeps the kids from having fun and keeps them always on edge worried that they're doing something they'll get yelled at for. It's a bit expensive and usually pretty cold. During a lesson, there was a lifeguard standing directly in front of my then 4 yr old and when she went under, for long enough that I had to take action. he was staring off into space so I literally had to push him out of my way to pluck her out of the water. She was so scared she wouldn't go back in that lesson. The playground is extensive but it's impossible to see the kids at all times, which makes me nervous considering the size. Over all we pretty much try to go anywhere else but because of the location and the fact that it's covered it can be hard to find somewhere else to go. read more

I am so proud, not only to live in the fabulous Fauquier County but also to live in the wonderful town of Warrenton. Warrenton has some really great parks. This is one. (It can be crowded so if you don't like crowds, be warned). The facility is large and looks beautiful. Inside is a lap pool, a kids play pool with the water works and a really large tunnel slide, plus lockers and a hot tub. Also workout equipment available. That's inside. Outside, you have miles and miles of paved track. Roam free...enjoy. They have a skate park corner which is right next to the roller hockey field. A great playground with recycled flooring for a soft landing. Tons of playground equipment and a couple of picnic tables nearby also. Next to that is an outdoor work out area. Mounted equipment there for exercise. Across the bridge is about 6 soccer fields. Looks like they are building tennis courts or something near the top left, so they are not done building and creating more fun for us yet. The view from the higest paved path is beautiful. Access this park from US RTE 211 at two locations and also access from Waterloo Rd across from the High School at two locations. read more

One of the nicest outside parks I've seen in this area, has several picnic tables, and clean porta pottys. Inside, the locker rooms are well kept and the family locker rooms are in a separate section, closer to the pool. The pool area is a nice size and clean. There's a kiddie section featuring a ship with dumping bucket, fountains, mini waterfalls, and slides coming off of the ship. Outside of that there's a large tube slide, hot tub, and mini lazy river. The lifeguards seem well trained and attentive. The ONLY complaint I have is how crowded the pool area got yesterday. It left me concerned for the safety of my kids and others. If there's a limit on how many can be in the pool at one time, it needs to be shortened. read more

I think the ours of operation are terrible especially for Sundays , the pool is suppose to be heated but the only heat I notice is from the spa area . Like many people I like working out early , but not here , not on Sundays ,maybe they want you to think it's a special day and call it RUSH DAY I don't know but Sundays are the worse ... I;ve lived in Fairfax and Arlington , Va and perhaps that is why I know what a real center should be . I find this WARF to be inconvenient and over rated . I am not sure why everything in Fauquier seems to be half of what it is in other counties . When ever there is a need for something the county always seems to have to refer people elsewhere for services. I am planning to move soon and I can't wait ,I have never seen such a place where the people and their needs meant so little this place is a place to exist but not really Live ! .... read more

I visited this place a few times a year, mostly summers. It has pools for kids, families and adults that like to do the lane swimming. There are swimming classes you can take and upstairs there is a smallish gym. It's not the size of Gold Gym by any means but it's OK. Ample parking and easy to get in and out of. Price is decent, you do pay more if you do not live in the county (Fauquier). At one visit I saw a birthday party on the lower level. Nice size room with a long table decorated and such. I can only review the women's locker room obviously. It has plenty of shower stalls, sinks, lockers (bring your own locks) and a bathing suit dryer! That was a nice surprise. The lifeguards were friendly and attentive, especially near the kids' pools. read more

Soooo....I'm kind of at a loss here. My friend has been begging me to get a membership there to work out with her. I finally went and checked it out....you must note that THIS IS NOT A GYM. This is a really nice indoor pool facility. It's big - it's clean - it has pools. Pools. I walked out laughing at the fitness room - which is literally smaller than an "Anytime Fitness". Hardly any cardio equipment, and just a few weight machines. So if this is your thing - then go. But if you're looking for an actual GYM - this is not the place for you. read more

WARF is a beautiful facility. The kids indoor water pool is amazing - as is the outdoor playground. But this is not about the facility - I am only giving two stars because the swimming lessons for young kids are really sub par. I have taken my children to three places this summer - from Fredericksburg (ISR Infant Swim Rescue) to Gainesville (Swim Kids) and then to WARF which is closest to us. But one class was enough at WARF. It is back to Swim Kids for us. WARF's was a group lesson for three kids and the kids had to sit on the side while the instructor worked with each individually. The water is freezing - the kids lips were blue and they were shaking while they waited their turn. They don't have classes for 2 yr old toddlers at all. My three year old had just completed an ISR course and could float and swim underwater with his eyes open, but was made to use a floating device which I asked that he not have because of his ISR (Infant Swim Rescue) training, so I also felt the instructor did not listen - just did her thing with each child the same even though they were at different levels. And she never smiled once. read more
