When you walk in you are immediately enchanted by the indoor garden area which features several areas of seating including tables and benches. The sense of community is evident in the fact that they offer a restaurant, gym, library, theatre, recreation room, an onsite store and vocational room. I was also impressed by the fact that they help patients bring their creative passions to life by guiding them through the process of starting their own business. I even had the opportunity to check out one such passion in the form of tee shirts for people with brain injuries. This was only one of the many cool and unique features that is offered at Life Skills Village. Another unique program worth mentioning is one that kicks off on Thursdays in the months of March and April. It is called 'Thursday Night Social Events' and features nights of karaoke, billiards, trivia, crafts and a euchre tournament. I am writing this because I have heard of several patients of my surgeon's who had therapy that consisted of generic hip patient exercises with an assistant at most appointments; often in groups. This approach would not have gotten me walking normally again. I had too many problems associated with arthritic hips; I needed back adjustments and connective tissue manipulation, and the therapists at North Woodward were able to provide these. The facility is small, with a warm and friendly atmosphere, and they offer evening hours for appointments.

There is alot of good staff however, very understaffed and burntout.,the therapy program is great though, I have food allergies, gastric bypass previous issues, and Afrid eating disorder spoke with dietary supervisors and they seemed ok ordered special foods, protein shakes ect, but I continued on many occasions to have issues so spoke with the staff because I told them when they first gave strawberry yogurt I thought it was just a mistake but I finally went to the kitchen myself when they gave me a red dye 40 protein shake,I thought things sucked but were just going by ,then after showering I went to use the restroom which I hope you can manage to get to yourself because it depends on who's there call lights sometimes take minutes but I have had them take 40 minutes and I even called front desk to check to see if the light was working, anyway I go use the restroom only to step in urine, I put a towel that they didn't even put in a bag for laundry my socks and the towel was there till the next day,my roommate was not repositioned regularly and had bed sore, The next day I had my mom shower me and as soon as she left wet all over again apparently the pipe busted they joking asked if I peed on myself I'm 45,they were upset because I wanted my bedding changed, which was not changed for 2 days before and I killed a silverfish on the first night I was in the room,so then my bathroom and the shower room bathroom down the hall both had problems, they left, all the trays of food overnight in the room on a cart till they felt like doing them,food was 50/50but they tried harder for me, then one night I was sitting waiting on my meds because their med pass usually took like a hour and a half the cna tells me get out of the way not excuse me were getting ready to work in here mind you I was in the room my insurance was paying for so I told her she should learn how to speak to people, the next morning breakfast came all i could eat from it was a couple things because again they didn't listen so I asked to speak with dietary but they brought a social worker and the director, that basically said that I was the problem, and maybe I would be happier at one of there other locations LMAO ,like I what to go from bad to worse, if you care about anyone don't let them go here or the other locations I have heard family friends tell me they had trouble getting there meds there

Office is secure, parking is ample (shared lot with 3 other businesses so that can fluctuate) very clean. Staff and patients are masked and I witnessed a lot of cleaning of surfaces, hands and equipment during my time there (great job). I was there on December the 8th at 3pm. Noted because I want the staff working during that's time to get proper recognition. I did not get their names but the ladies working the front desk, Check out and the one that escorted me to my room were absolutely amazing. You don't find friendly relatable office staff anymore. Everyone is so over worked or abused by customers that service slips. These women set the entire tone for my first experience with this office. I hope they are compensated well because THEY created an excellent first impression for this business. Dr Cecil got right to work on my raggedy frame. I heard cracks and pops in areas I didn't think could crack! After all the twisting, turning, stretching, popping.. I felt like we should hug when he was done . In all seriousness I was close to tears not because he hurt me. It was a rush of relief to finally find something/someone that relieves my pain. He was direct about after care and needing more than one visit. While my visit was an hour long it surely did not seem like it at all. There was not a lot of waiting around or dead time which I appreciate fully!! I almost hate to write this review because then EVERYONE will be here, he is that amazing!!
