Absolutely horrible experience, wouldn't even wish this upon my worst enemy. Had a service rep come to my apartment to assess a broken dryer. Upon arrival, he continued to tell me how nice and expensive this machine was (thought this was an act to have the ability to charge me more based on the bias that this machine is "expensive"). Takes the top of the dryer off and looks around for a solid 7 minutes. Initially tells me that he has horrible news and he wished he did not have to deliver this news. Mentioned that my motor broke and he would find a quote within the next few minutes. Received a text message from one of his "colleagues" and he quoted that a new motor was $782. Inclusive of labour and other expenses, I was quoted close to $900 to fix my dryer motor. He mentioned that this motor is extremely hard to find and he would have to check availability or they would have to ship it from Germany. Next day, I call 10+ service providers to discuss this issue and the consensus was that this quote was too high. I receive a call from Same Day Appliance Repair that there are two motors left in Canada and I should place an order ASAP, luckily, based on my bad vibes from these people, I held off. Later that day I got in touch with the official parts distributor based in Quebec for this product (Blomberg). They mentioned that I could buy the motor for C$294 which includes tax and delivery and there were 33 motors in stock. Same Day Appliance Repair blatantly lied to me about the number of motors left in Canada and hiked the price by 2x. Thankfully, I used another service provider (Fix Appliances) and they came in and found that the motor is completely fine but an article of clothing was obstructing the vent. They simply removed a panel from the back of the dryer and pulled out the clothing article. Same Day Appliance Repair is an absolute joke. They think they are smart using some sales tactics and influencing biases on their clients but you couldn't trick me this time. Best of luck. read more

I called this company to service my dishwasher and was told there was no charge for the service call. I explained on the phone that the control panel in the front had come off and would need to be replace. When the technician arrived he said he didn't have the right part because he was told that it was the door latch that was broken. Then he wanted $90 for the service call! I was not impressed with this company. I am out the money and they did nothing. read more

Be careful with using this company. I had a dishwasher leak. They came out and quoted me $400 for the fix. They did the work. Next time the dishwasher was used it leaked in the same way again, damaging the ceiling on the floor below, etc. It wasn't fixed for the $400 I paid. When I informed them, they acted like the issue was my fault, and refused to provide a refund. Told me the solution is to pay them another $800 for them to try out another fix... read more

Apparently there are two companies with the same name in the Toronto area. BEWARE. We ended up cutting our losses with this company over a repair to a Kenmore Elite Refrigerator. We feel we were scammed out of $400 (price if paying cash), for a repair that turned out not to be the issue in the first place, and secondly, should only have cost $135 (parts and labour), according to the Sears repairman who ended up doing the actual repair. After several calls to Same Day Appliance Repair, we got the run around and figured they had no intention of following up with us. The website is glossy and seems on the up and up, but if you research reviews on other websites, you will find that many people rated this company 0/10. This is for good reason. Actually -0 Stars.. I made the mistake of picking the first service company I saw in the area on the internet. Called them and a guy comes with no company ID, but gives 3 diferent names to suit the occasion. I should have told him to go then, but unfortunately I did not. He looked at my washing machine and said I needed a new espensive part. He told me that I would have to put the money on my credit card so he could order the part which they did not have in stock. After the guy left, I called around to find out what the price of this part was at other service centres, as well as calling the Sears parts department. When I found out that the Same Day Appliance repair place was charging almost double for the part, I called back the same evening to ask about their cost. I was told by the so called manager that it was none of my business as to how much they were charging and to go to ****! I hung up and called back the next day when this dude had hopeflly cooled down. I then told him that I did not want any further business deallings with someone who would talk like that. He again became racially abusive and I hung up. I paid their service fee of $75.00 and was threatened with legal action by the offensive clerk. The next thing I know, I am getting a notice from the collection agency that I owe several hundred dollars for the service fee and part. Very very strange and wierd company. We called SameDay Appliance Repair to fix our washing machine that wasn't draining and letting water in the fabric softener compartment. The service technician, Adrian, said he would clean the filter to fix it, but our filter was already clean. He was more preoccupied with his phone than diagnosing the problem, taking several breaks to answer calls. He also removed the eco ball that sits inside the drain hose, claiming it was not part of the machine. We looked it up afterwards and it was, in fact, part of the machine. He also told us that the fabric softener was the reason why water wouldn't pass through the dispenser drawer. Once he did empty out the filter again, he would not stay until the wash cycle finished to check that his "fix" actually worked. When the fix did not work, we called him to report and he told us to run the cycle again and refused to return to put the ball back in until a week later. His fix actually made the problem worse, giving us more error codes than before. All in all, he not only failed to fix the problem, he failed to diagnose it correctly, made it even worse, and refused to refund our money. read more
