Another amazing doctor from the Carle Clinic family without a review! I swear I gasped! I saw Dr. Khosrowshahi when I was in desperate, desperate need. I was having a terrible, not pain, exactly.. more like what people describe as "phantom limb" feeling associated with a neuropathy I developed due to a complication in surgery. If you've never had nerve pain (and there are SEVERAL ways it can manifest), you just don't even know. I'm a writer, so my hands are my livelihood. At the time, I was taking a drug and most doctors just didn't feel comfortable prescribing it at the dosage I needed (I had another surgery that made it difficult for me to absorb medicines like a normal person, so...). But Dr Khosrowshahi, she worked with me. She really listened. When many just turned their backs, she really cared. She just finally said that I had to find a dosage that worked for me. One extra pill in a 24 hour period and... everything was better again. Not perfect, of course, but good enough that I was able to use my hand again. This was... god, has to be seven, eight years, now, and I'm still so thankful for her help. She has no idea what she gave to me during that period. Awful. Saw this doctor for constant headaches and dizziness, an issue I've been having for over 6 months. She barely listened to me and told me that all women get dizzy and have headaches. That's news to me, because I was a woman a year ago and I didn't have these issues. She then told me I needed to drink water. I told her I do drink a lot of water and she said well not too much. I've never left a Dr's office crying before and I did so after seeing this doctor. read more

I am so hurt and am struggling to understand why I was treated so poorly by a "doctor" on the job for 3 days. I was discriminated against; both by having PTSD and depression associated with chronic pain diseases and the fact that my husband had Fox News on while I was in the Progressive Care unit at BroMenn. I was rushed by ambulance for the 3rd time as Code Gray (Stroke). This time, I stopped breathing, was bagged, with chest compressions, then intubated. I could hear them saying I wouldn't make it to BroMenn, so go to St. Joe, though I ended up at BroMenn. I was given a paralytic so could hear, but couldn't respond and then was put under. My next memory was many hours later in ICU, again having had the life saving drug, TPA. Thank you, Dr. Dick! The staff are wonderful, my Neurologist; Dr. Dick and Hayden, also wonderful. I'm 59, am very frightened of ending up an invalid, having been told what all happened this time. So, fresh out of ICU, I'm seen by a female "Neurologist" who examined me for maybe 2 minutes. Didn't know me or my history and I didn't know her. My right eye doesn't open, the right side of my face drooped, my whole right side is much weaker than the left. I can't count, tell time, yadda , yadda, yadda. She tells me she's looked at my file and knows I have PTSD and depression. We talked about the 2 chronic pain diseases; CPRS and Polymyalgia Rheumatica. I have had CRPS for the last 10 years of my life which completely changed my world. It's an extremely painful and often times debilitating disease, and also has the highest suicide rate associated with a single disease. I was put on Disability from a really good job. So, after these few minutes, she tells me all my doctors are wrong....Mayo is wrong.... I've never had a stroke, I don't have CRPS because people fall down, get hurt and get over it. She said it was all in my head (arms flying, voice wailing). She tells me that's why half of Chicago is on Schizophrenia medication (didn't make sense to us). She looks at the TV, sees it's Fox News and says that we (Jim and I)are full of fake news. My husband asks her if she's saying that because she's a Democrat (again, we were confused) and she says she is. She BROUGHT POLITICS INTO WHETHER OR NOT I DESERVED A DOCTOR. Finally, after what seemed like forever, she turned back and told me "good luck taking care of yourself". Hippocratic Oath.... I just came back from my appointment with Dr. Samineh Khosrowshahi and i left massively disappointed with her treatment plan and discussion i had with her. I explained my symptoms to her and she informed me that a neurologist only treats seizure disorders not pain disorders or other symptoms. I felt as if my other symptoms were completely unrelated to anything neurological. When my other doctors tell me the problems are in neurological field that i am having not theirs. This left me horribly frustrated. Who do i believe 5 other doctors a single doctor. And top that off she tried to order a MRI which my records show that i can not have a MRI. neurosurgeon Dr. beliber 23 years ago said for me to never be exposed to magnetism meaning no MRI, my mother was there at the time he said this. When the discussion of what i want done or what to do. I said proper diagnosis to find the root of all my neurological symptoms as per the other doctors have told me is the problems. this meet with resistance. And i got asked again by Dr. Khosroshahi do you want pills and of course i said no i would like a known diagnosis and proper treatment. i got told i have seizures and systemic pain disorder. and she said earlier she does not treat pain! And insult to injury is the fact that she asked why i want this treated so badly i said. i Said i wanted to be able to work some kind of job or go back to college either online or to a real university. She told me i am disabled i can not work at all or lose my disability. i had to inform her of the ADA and ADA back to work ACT and the ADA IRA plans for the disabled. Told me i could lose my disability i informed her i would not. And again asked me why do i want to go back to work or college and risk it i said. going to work and college give a person a sense of purpose in life. And makes life more enjoyable. Explained to her that I began working for 3 years after my aneurysm rupture for a center for independent living for 3 years but started to have weird symptoms. which got to point i needed a neurologist again after Dr. Nino retired. And went to her. But she didn't get it and threw me into complete frustration with her. I told her if i was going to be talked down to like this and she was unwilling to find the appropriate diagnosis and treatments so that i could go back to college or try to work again. i would find a new neurologist. She said fine. I said ok i'll be writing to DHS, congress persons, Illinois Medical board, and a great many agencies and possible news media and informing rest of my doctors her decisions with me and i have left her and why as explained in above. This is unfortunate. as my neurosurgeon Dr. beliber 23 years ago saved my life at carle hospital from a ruptured intracranial brain aneurysm. Perhaps it is her command of the english language or understanding of american laws or views of the disabled, i do not know anymore after suffering after years of her treatments and going toxic on my medications several times under her. read more
