The staff was so friendly. The forms were easy to fill out. I cannot give anything away here - just go and experience! We did the Mayor's office. At a 22% rate for getting out I thought we were sunk in the first 11 minutes. So many great puzzles to solve and the thrill when we figured out a code or found a key was awesome. Great value for the cost. During a time when there is little to do, we were safe in our small group, locked in a room ( well more than one room as you worked through it). This was the perfect way to spend an afternoon followed up with take home food from a Downtown Kitchener restaurant. ....we got out!!!! Can't wait to do another room. It really adds to the whole environment and experience. The clues tied together really well although there was no story or theme to it. Adventure Rooms only has two rooms and they do not change frequently. The passing rate of the first room (Game #1) is 20% and the second room (Game #2) is 25%. So, not a high passing rate for either. The rooms are European style as well so you go through a house, basically. What made Adventure Rooms a lot of fun was the fact that it involved many little steps/puzzles that you had to solve to get out, rather than just one hard problem. This is one of our top places, and we can't wait to go back for Game #2!

This place was awesome!…read more I attended escape room for a work event and enjoyed trying to find my way to freedom! We played the tea room, which had a theme much to do with the queen. It was fun but challenging at the same time! The record for our room was 24 minutes with no clues and 35 minutes with 3 or less. We finished the room in 52 minutes and had no clues. It was really hard but exciting to see how hard and where your brain goes when trying to solve a mystery! They also hosted the event with a lunch (provided by our work staff) but did an amazing job of facilitating the lunch in with the event. We had a lot of fun and it's a great way to get to know people!

We were greeted by the owners and they are amazing, very personal and easy to talk to. We were brought into the room and the one owner tells the story getting you into the vibe and she is what sold me. Her excitement was everything and got me invested getting out. The room was thematically fun and smart, and though not the most high tech room, everything was purposeful and smartly placed. You can feel the love they have for a good escape room and I want to happily pass that on. The room was a high challenge rating, and I will say it definitely got my brain thinking. We loved the set up of the room, it was really well done, the puzzles were hard but not too hard and we got out with only a few minutes to spare. The person running our room was funny and informative. He had a clear love for his work! The building was clean, and our room was fantastic! The story line and props added to the experience. What impressed me the most was that the puzzle designs were extremely impressive. Everything was difficult but even when we were getting stumped no puzzle felt impossible or unfair which is what you want in a good puzzle. We have done quite a few rooms and my nephew and niece both said that this was the best room they have ever done! I would agree! I have already recommended it to many people!

As an escape room duo who also have vast interests, we look for rooms that are not only decorated…read morefaithfully to a set theme but are also sensitive to their physical location and history. We try to make each escape room adventure a whole day event, and generally try to plan our food and other scheduled excursions around it for a deeper immersive experience. This does not always work, partly because most of the escape rooms out there revolve around similar derivative stories. So we were more than thrilled when we discovered that Escape Game Erie was located on our route on our inaugural trip to the Niagara Falls. In the interest of full disclosure, we did not realise that Escape Game Erie's Escape the Niagara room was named for USS Niagara, which served as the relief flagship for Oliver Hazard Perry in the September 1813 Battle of Lake Erie and just returned to its home dock behind the Erie Maritime Museum, which was closed the day we were in Erie, Pennsylvania. Our knowledge of the various battles fought on the East Coast is abysmal, but regardless, we wanted to play a room that carried on a theme that meant something to us, and so, we set on booking our game for after we saw the Falls. Unfortunately, Escape Game Erie's Escape the Niagara location was closed on Mondays, and Monday was when we were in Erie just for the day. Most fortunately, we were able to e-mail Escape Room Erie and Janet was beyond (ahem) game (haha!) to accommodate us for an evening game at their historic house site at 4838 West Ridge Road. We had taken the train across the continent and could have chosen to do Murder on the Lakeshore Express, but it was good thing we didn't because that would have worked better with a larger group. Everything about Escape Game Erie was different for us. The setting of the room in the Nicholson House, a historic old house located a little far from shops or food place decorated to invoke a tall ship captain's quarters should not have worked, but did, partly because of the natural lighting coming from two large original windows. The floor creaked as it would have on the ship in a stormy sea, and the ambient sound effects, which we admit to overlooking because we were so engrossed in the puzzles, did their part in helping us feel, well, less at sea (hahaha!) We can't have natural light from old windows, unfortunately, without some very modern vehicular traffic sounds coming through, but we felt very in-sync with the era and environment. Adding to our enjoyment of the room was, of course, our game host, new owner Janet, who was super-accommodating to begin with. Instead of just being left to sit in the lobby to watch the usual preamble video, Janet actually conversated with us as we sat in the parlour, about if we needed the restroom (we did not), how our trip was going, did we have problems finding the place (there is plenty of parking, but we Ubered from our hotel, and that was a very entertaining 15 minutes), and, of course, about the room and standard game rules. What really stood out for us was her distinction between "quality of life" clues versus "regular" clues - which meant she was prepared to play the game with us as much or as little as we wanted - and she followed through! Our family-friendly adventure started with us being locked in Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry's quarters, and our job was to uncover Lieutenant Elliot's hidden escape route, break free, and warn Perry before it's too late. Thanks to Janet, we changed history in 55 minutes (with no time remaining!). Some minor technical difficulty occurred as we played in what we call a second-generation (G2) room that involved a lot of old-time puzzles and teamwork, which led to the clock being stopped for a while, but our gamemaster kept us on track, since there was no timer in room. Our favourite puzzle was the one with knitting needles (yep!), but all the puzzles were thoughtfully designed and linear to the theme. Post-game, Janet could have waved us off with just our victory photos (taken in the parlour with props and signage on their camera and texted as well as e-mailed to us after), but she was ever the good host: we carried on for a while with more good stories and good talk before she saw us off with free participation stickers. In all, Escape Room Erie was unforgettable and to top it off, Escape the Niagara was an incredible value for money. We took a second and third look at our receipt to verify the cost, which included the special accommodation to our schedule and were gobsmacked. We can't wait to head back that way to enjoy more East Coast hospitality and check out the other rooms and Escape Room Erie's downtown location!

We wouldn't have gotten nearly as far as we did without the wonderful Janet. She definitely made the already awesome experience even better. Even though we didn't escape, we are looking forward to the next time we get to do an escape room. This was wonderfully fun, challenging, and engaging.

They stage their games a little differently and I really appreciate after so many different escape rooms finding something that is unexpected. Besides the great detail put into making the game amazing I also want to give them a shout out for their well kept waiting room and all the fun puzzles and games they provide to get your mind in gear whilst waiting your turn. We had a great time…read more I've done a few escape rooms previously, and there's several different styles. Some with very clear & obvious puzzles (padlock on a box), others with more abstract (place the idol on the pedestal, tilt the picture frame to straighten the horizon). The room we did at The Ultimate Escape was The Curiosity Shoppe. It fits into the clear and obvious puzzle category (lots of boxes with locks). But there was enough variety and unique items that it didn't feel repetitive. The puzzles themselves were varied and fun. We were a group of three (minding two babies), with two of us having escape room experience. We escaped with 5 minutes to spare. Large experienced groups may find this particular room a bit easy. We would absolutely go back and try their other rooms.
