Tillsonview Fairways - Lots of good prices in the pro shop

Tillsonview Fairways

First off, the people here are SO friendly. If you are a beginner golfer, you will not feel out of place here. They are welcoming and obviously enjoy what they do. My parents are regulars at this course and know all the girls by name, know their stories, and even watch some of them grow up and move along. This course is great for someone who is looking for a leisurely game of golf that isn't too difficult. As someone who gets out a few times a year, this course is perfect. There are long holes, some short ones, and then the challenges with fields on the side, so you might lose a ball or two! The water hazards and sand traps are there but nothing too crazy. Most of the time though, you will most likely hit into another fairway as each hole is separated by pine trees. The porta-potties on the course are in really good shape too. There is a small pro shop here that sells clothing, gloves, clubs, bags, and carts. The prices are really decent and they have lots of sizes which is nice. The food here isn't anything to write home about but they have the standard hot dogs, burgers, roast beef sandwiches, cookies (they are YUMMY), chocolate bars, pepperettes, beer, coolers, spirits, and pop. They also have a girl going around on the cart. Tillsonview Fairways is probably THE course that made me like golf. It is great to play and the people are awesome!

White Squirrel - Burger and Greek salad

The restaurant and golf course are immaculately kept and make for a scenic dining experience. Note that the restaurant is split up into two separate areas, one for larger groups and one for smaller dining. We had wanted to sit in the larger group area because it seemed like more fun, but instead we were seated on the other side and it was only us over there. The menu looked delicious and as we were both famished, we had quite the time figuring out what to order. Everything always sounds so good when you're hungry. We both ended up ordering the burger (with gluten free bun); mine with greek salad and hers with caesar. Decent burger, I would get it again. Service was friendly, but the food did take a while, especially for what we ordered. Must have been because of the other side being busy. Washrooms were clean and easy to find. The parking lot is also big with lots of extra large/long spots so if you're pulling a boat or trailer you could stop in with lots of room. We didn't do dessert so I can't speak to that. Will definitely be back to try some other things.

White Squirrel is a recently redeveloped golf facility just north of Grand Bend in Ontario. The…read moreowners have put a lot of money into this redevelopment and it looks spectacular. The patio caters to those golfing and is open to the public. They have an indoor dining restaurant along with two very large outdoor covered patios. They also have an outdoor pizza oven. We were seated at one of the long tables outside which was perfect for your group. It is a fairly typical menu and I opted for the burger (two patties) with fries. The presentation was quite good and I liked that the burgers had a nice sear on the patties. There was no issue with the service and our server was pleasant. My only criticism is that they did not have an IPA on tap, which is a shame with so many local craft breweries in the area. It was a positive dining experience and happy to recommend White Squirrel if in Grand Bend and want a nice meal in a beautiful setting.

My husband and I got married here in 2010. Our wedding was amazing and everything went off without…read morea hitch. This review is actually about our anniversary though. My husband surprised me by bringing me back to Dundee Country Club for a round of golf. Afterward, we decided to grab a bite to eat in the club house. My husband led me outside to the patio, where there was a reserved table with pink gerbera daisies (our wedding flowers) in vases. I was so surprised! The Hospitality Manager, Rebecca, came out to our table and all was revealed to me. My husband had been in touch with Rebecca to arrange the whole thing - Rebecca reserved the table for us, and went out shopping for the daisies (my husband told her what colour) and vases. Apparently that's all my husband had planned until Rebecca asked if there was anything else they could do, like a different menu than just burgers and hotdogs from the club house. My husband didn't know this was possible, but definitely jumped at the chance. Rebecca said that they were big on anniversaries and could do whatever we wanted. So my husband pre-ordered us shrimp cocktails, salads, chicken and steak - it was amazing! He also arranged for the Cake Box in Kitchener to deliver cupcakes, which Rebecca was totally fine with. She accepted the delivery when it arrived, and plated it nicely for us for dessert. We chatted with Rebecca throughout the lunch, and she is truly a wonderful lady! She was more than happy to help out with the anniversary surprise, and willing to make suggestions. I feel like she went above and beyond what her role entails. She's also incredibly friendly and funny. I would happily recommend Dundee Country Club to anyone who wants a little something special done. Oh, and the golf course itself - it was great! A good mixture of shorter and longer holes. The Starter was also awesome - we wanted to golf alone since it was our anniversary, so he was able to re-arrange some groups to make it happen (note: at least one foursome didn't show up, which is how he was able to help us out. I don't think he would have shuffled everyone around if it was a major inconvenience, which is understandable). Overall, the day was awesome and the staff at Dundee Country Club were amazing!

On my way there from Toronto, unfortunately my playing partner informed me she wasn't feeling well and needed to bail. Oh well, life happens, I was already on my way and figured I'd get my round in anyways as this place has been on my to play list for ages. When I got there, I informed them that my playing partner had to cancel because she got sick, and they said that unfortunately they were going to have to charge me anyways as that is their policy unless you cancel 24 hours before hand. We had only booked the night before, so about 12 hours before hand. I understand the policy, but I'm disappointed they didn't want to accommodate someone who drove over an hour and a half to come play. I left because I was just flabbergasted and never had this happen to me before in many decades of golfing. I decided to go to another course nearby in protest. I ended up getting billed on my credit card for two, even though I don't have my credit card "on file" with their online system, but have used it in the past. I've tried following up with both the golf course and the booking system and both have refused to budge. It's too bad, it looks like a decent course from the parking lot.

What a joke. The course was not in good shape and the greens were so overgrown with Poa, the seeds were making your ball jump instead of rolling. I know they have a new greenskeeper but c'mon now. Range is closed, putting green is closed. You can pay for your round 15 minutes before your tee time. Nice for your first shot to be a stone cold, out of the car on the tee driver. Peter Rosemann
