There is a loooooog line at 12pm just to renew or replace the membership cards, there is only 1 lady working this whole front section who is doing returns and cards. There is at least 20 people waiting to be helped... This is really crazy considering this is SAMS CLUB and of course they want you to get the membership, why wouldn't you have at least 3 people up here knowing it's a new year and everyone's cards are expiring ???? If you're able to get the business or plus membership this place rocks. Being able to come early in the morning and beat the rush is great! I also have a business membership at their competitor but they don't have early access which is such a bummer. I love shopping when it's not complete chaos. The scan and go app is also a blessing. No need for long lines if you do go during a busy time and so quick to check out. A little tip...the app accepts visa payments for all those trying to get them Hawaiian miles! I only once had an issue with the app and it's when it couldn't recognize that I was in the store and it wouldn't work. Perhaps it's because my phone was about to die? Not sure, but today it worked perfectly. The selection and prices is always good. And I always somehow end up leaving with more than I intended on buying...good job sams. read more

This store had lots of items that Costco does not carry. It seems bigger than the Keaaumuku St. store. For the life of me I don't understand why they don't carry Franzia Chardonnay here on a regular basis while the Keaaumoku St. carries it. I got lucky today. The advantage that Sam's Club has over Costco is the ability to buy ONE loaf of bread rather than being forced to buy TWO. Also, they carry more local goods here that you may not find at Costco. I bought poke here and they to work on it. Foodland makes way better poke. And Foodland, when on sale, has $10 per pond poke which less than here. Be aware that not everything here is a bargain. Seafood is NOT a bargain here. Oyster, for example, costs the same at regular grocery chains. The butter fish costs the same as at Don Quijote. I do miss them offering sushi made at the store. But then, then the quality went downhill and the price went up. That's probably why they stopped making them. I've tried the Tokyo Bento sushi and they tend to be a bit in the pricey side. It's basically rice and that is cheap. All the other ingredients are cheap, too. So why do you have to pay a hefty price for sushi here in Hawaii? Oh, I get it. Sushi when not made properly is...well, not sushi. The parking here is plentiful. You won't have difficulty finding parking here on a regular day. What I don't like is the fact that the concession stand is inside the store. And you won't find the value that you'll find at Costco's concession stand. I'm sure they had a good reason for enclosing it but non-members will not be able to sample their food offerings. I give Sam's Club four stars because they do have some value priced items and do not force you to buy in bulk of everything. For example, for all you Twinkies and Ho-Ho's addicts, you don't have to buy the oversized box. They offer the small box. Most of all, they offer open-box items for those of you looking for even better prices. Keep in mind, though, there is a risk of buying used items as they are All-Sales-Final. Oh, and one more thing, they have a gas station so you can take care of that need right after or before shopping. read more

This is for the Tire Center. I went by to check my tires as a friend told me the tread on my tires looked low. There was no one in line so I decided to give it a try. Dean helped me and actually said my tires could go a little longer, 4cm tread and they recommend changing them out at 2cm. He said they were drying out but I could use them longer if I wanted. I decided to take advantage of being the only person there at 2:45 pm and just changed the tires out. When it came time to choose them there were 3 choices and when I asked Dean for a recommendation, he chose the cheapest ones. He told me I didn't need the super high performance tires since I'm not going high speed on the freeway all the time. My commute takes me on Moanalua Rd. and Farrington most days. Unlike Costco where I had basically only 1 choice of tire that was $50 more each tire and not in stock, and then had to leave my car for almost an entire work day to get them installed; Sam's was a breeze. I was in and out of the tire center in 20 minutes. Granted there is a sale on Saturday for $60 off that probably contributed to the emptiness. But my time was worth more than that since they told me it would be crazy for the next few weeks. read more

I go to the Sams club in Shendoah, Tx. The customer service there are is the worst. I waited in the return line there for almost an hour because the sold me spoiled fish. After an hour I threw it on the counter and left. I figured that the time I had already lost was worth more than the fish. I did call the headquarters to complain that took information but did absolutely nothing about it. So I lost money and much time. read more

I like the products, service and staff at sams. prices are fair and competitive to Costco. staff are friendly and helpful when you ask. the only frustrating thing is poor organization. spent 30 mins waiting in line for a buttered pretzel and icee. they just don't place a high priority in the food court compared to Costco. usually it's a team of three trying to slave off the crazy long line of people wanting food. they should really premake a whole bunch of hot dogs and pretzels in anticipation like Costco. then it's just grab and give. they should be able to predict the numbers based on the sales on weekday versus weekend. put those things in the heater to stay warm after that. whatever the health code is. no one complains about the way Costco does it. anyway, the staff is friendly when you finally get to the front of the lines. it's just ashame management can't think how to make things more efficient so customers are stuck frustrated in lines. could be five stars if the wait isn't so bad read more

Sam's Club beats Costco and military. You never have to wait very long. The prices either match or beats Costco. Now, I do have a membership with both (I piggy back on my moms Costco, but I pay for Sams because it's convenient for me, and I like their warehouse more (excluding parking, which is a different review). A long time ago, I was a member of Sams club. Then I switched over to Costco. Now, im a member of both only because Sams club offered a deal on a deals site which made a one year membership basically $5. The store looks very dated and old. The parking is still a little cramped. However, the deals in Sams club are really good. You can save a lot of money by shopping through Sams instead of paying regular prices in grocery stores. I dont feel like they have as many items that I like compared to Costco, but anytime a place can save me money, im there! As much as I like the warehouse style of shopping, I cant be a member of 2 clubs. So, unless Sams club offers that deal again, sorry. read more

Love coming here for gas! Way better than going to Costco! No lines and great prices. They open as early as 5 am! The location is great! It's nearby Walmart and Sam's Club. The prices are very good and usually way cheaper than gas stations nearby! Not sure what it is, but there is almost never a line. If anything, just one car waiting behind to get to the pump. Sam's Club Pearl City needs more staff in the food court. Service is very slow...slower than their elevators. Love what they offer on the menu; different from Costco Food Court. This has to be one of the better gas stations to go. My parents and I been coming here for many years. The quality of the gas is excellent. For some reason, my dad prefers filling up the tank at Sam`s than Costco, lol. The prices here are a lot reasonable than Chrevron and Tesoro. The station can be busy on the weekends depending on the time of day you go. The wait is short, like 5 minutes the most. Unlike Costco, they only have 1 line for returns as well as membership services, with only 1 or 2 people working the desk. If you forget your membership card, you really have to consider if it's worth waiting in that line to get a temporary pass to shop there. The best thing is their covered parking. Quite possibly the best gas station on Oahu, most definitely for the Pearl City and Aiea areas! Open and spacious so you can get in and out quickly. Features 24 pumps that are fast. The Premium gas prices are what other stations charge for their Regular unleaded. Lines are short if any. A two car line is unheard of. If you don't mind filling up "on the opposite side" then there's usually no wait. One of the only reasons I maintain membership at Sam's Club. read more

Busiest day would probably be Sundays and busiest times are usually the hour before closing ( which I believe is 9 pm weekdays; 6 pm Sundays). If you're a member, you should def take advantage of the SC gas; prices are generally a tad cheaper than normal gas stations--every cent counts! Sams club is very slow in service. Especially their food court. As we were sitting there, we heard at least 5 complaints from other customers. So we decided to get hotdogs instead of ordering a pizza. We next went to check out their furniture, which just showed us that their furniture is cheap. I was here early this morning (4am) to stand in line for their big one day only sale. Around 5am, employees came out to make sure everyone knew what they could do in terms of checkout options, and had people filling out forms for cell phone buys. They were all very friendly and organized. Right before 7am, the line was all the way beyond the tire center. Around 20-30 people had the gall to try to skip the line, and stand on the opposite end of the door, so they could get in first. Hard to believe people dont have common decency. A couple of people spoke to one of the employees, and shortly before they opened the doors, an employee named Alex (I think that was his name,) very professionally told the people that they would need to actually go wait in line. About half of the people left that area to go stand in line, but the other half just stood there, adamant about trying to get in first. Alex asked the employee opening the doors to pause for a bit, and he gathered carts to block off the door to everyone except those that were already in line. The people trying to cut finally got the message that they werent getting in, and moved away. Thank you, Alex, you're the man. Once we got inside, everything was very well organized, I was in and out in literally 5 minutes or so. Great experience for a big sale day like this. read more

I like going to Sam's Club in Pearl City because of its convenience of being so close to my place. The parking can be crazy sometimes. But at least you won't feel hurried or like you have to rush to the check out only to still be met with LOOONG lines. I Love their 8 self Check outs! And if you're having some difficulties in any of those self service lines there is always someone close by to help you out. I've also found that a lot of items that I purchase are cheaper at Sam's Club's than Costco's. I had a costco card but decided to try sams club for the first time in my life. My roommate and I went and purchased the best membership that we could get and found ourselves browsing the isles. Sam's Club did not have as many options that costco provided, however, they had a few items that costco didn't have. Everything was for the most part clean and we'll organized and we didn't have many problems finding what we beeded. When it came time to check out, I asked the cashier for some boxes. The first time I asked she ignored me. Ok, it could be a mistake and she didn't hear me, so i asked again. She was very rude and said she didn't have any boxes. We were confused because everyone else in every other line had thier own boxes. So i politely asked if there were somewhere that I could grab a couple boxes, and I was ignored again. So i asked again, with attitude she said I had to find my own boxes. At this point I was highly irritated, went in between another cashier and found two small boxes. Now just imagine how many groceries we have when our bill came out to be $367.82!!! With two small boxes?!?!?!?! My roommate and I carried up the groceries item by item up flights of stairs. Then when we went to leave and they had the checker at the door, mind you only one checker, it took us 13 minutes waiting in line to leave. To top it all off, I emailed sams club and told them what happened and we barely got an apology and nothing else, as if it didn't matter. The customer service is HORRIBLE, and I can say that my roommate and myself will never be returning to sams club again. I'd rather dive a little further for costco. read more

I love this location! Just remember, you have to go down two levels to find the entrance. But, in comparison to the Honolulu Location it's easier to access. Just as every other Sam's Club or Costco I've been to, the checkout lines are always long (but don't worry there's an app for that [seriously look into it]). The staff has always been friendly to me and very helpful. There's a lot to choose from here and it's nice because my husband and I can spend the same amount of money we would spend in a regular grocery store, and have food for the month instead of two weeks. We love trying the samples. Especially when they serve something that's on our list or similar to so we can decide if we want to get that specific brand or not. Also, they usually have coupons at the sample stands if you decide to buy what they're serving. Overall, I'd say that my husband and I don't mind making the driving to Pearl City so we can shop here. Usually get all my grocery shopping done here because it's less expensive to plan it out and get things in bulk. Especially diapers/pull-ups for the little one(s)! I also love that they have clothes here that are not only good looking, but name brand sometimes, and UH apparel for decent prices! It's also a nice place to consider buying gifts from time to time because they have some pretty nice options. Overall, I like this place. It is currently being renovated in some places like the cafeteria portion... and they did recently redo their cashier stations- which I for one do not like AT ALL. Not only do the lines seem to go slower, but nobody wants to use the self-check out so nothing is getting a break.. and since they've lowered the machines and removed the pay-deck (the part where you can put your bag to get your wallet out or write a check or sign something) you now have to slouch or bend over to do that. I feel really bad for the cashiers honestly because I'm sure this is going to start giving them back pain. Also, I've heard that they already hate the change as well. So, apparently me and my family were not the only ones who thought it was kind of a stupid change. If it hadn't been for that, I'd have given them five stars. I do like how they re-did the customer service station though. It's much easier to access from either direction which is super convenient to monitor the line and decide if you want to go before or after your shopping. read more

Rude lazy and unprofessional , recently got ran over by about twenty shopping carts by a cart boy and banked me with all that force now I have a very sore ankle and hard time to walk sometimes granted nothing broke but when your bone gets bruised it hurts for a while and can you believe after asking for supervisor she didn't even tell the store manager I had called the corporate office twice to get his attention , you would think they would offer some sort of something besides it won't happen again , but no not even a free soda , I would have been happy with that anyway the workers are so lazy and cocky going to Costco I just upgraded my membership at Sam's but they need the money more than me after I get done suing them ... read more

The other reviews have this gas station on point. Great location, whether you're going to town or coming from town. I hardly every have to wait in line to get to a pump because there are SO MANY gas pumps. I've seen Costco get cramped at times with long lines, but not here at Sams.
