Well, if you're like me, then you may already know that Peterson is conveniently located on the west bound side of Rt. 9, and they are nearly always the cheapest in the area...at least for 93 octane gas. I grew up in NJ where it was illegal to pump your own gas. So, I don't mind pumping my own gas. I'm a responsible adult. But, Peterson will pump your gas for you, which admittedly, can be really nice when it is raining or below freezing, as it is so often here in New England. And when they pump your gas, they're friendly. That's about all I have to say about that. Convenient gas at a good price. 5 stars.

Alltown Fresh offers the basic convenience store stuff including snacks, candy, cold drinks, beer cooler, frozen foods, small groceries, hot coffee, pastries, smokes, lottery tickets, newspapers. There are 16 Mobil fueling pumps including a few diesel pumps, plus electric vehicle charging stations. They also operate a scratch kitchen on-site offering made to order/cooked breakfast items anytime including egg sandwiches, avocado toast, bagel & cream cheese, and breakfast burritos. The lunch selections here include sandwiches, subs, wraps, salads, bowls, and smoothies. They also have grab & go items here too. The menu is not as extensive as the NH locations, which also have a BBQ menu. This store carries plenty of Wrap City Chips, based in Derry NH. Recently, I stopped by this Alltown Fresh to fuel up the vehicle. They were offering the lowest gas prices in the area, by at least 30 cents less per gallon. I paid at the pump using the touchscreen and earning points on the Bee's Knees Benefits app. After I was done filling up the vehicle, I need to fill up. I went inside and ordered a Chicken Teriyaki Rice Bowl ($11.99 plus tax) from the kitchen in store. It took about 10 minutes for my bowl to be hot & ready. The bowl had soft pan cooked furikake, brown rice, roasted peppers, scallions, carrots, cabbage, sweet teriyaki sauce, topped with strips of grilled chicken. The rice teriyaki mix was tasty, but the chicken while tender, was on the dry side. Overall, I enjoy the fresh made to order (MTO) food concept in a convenience store. I ordered a teriyaki bowl here, which is not available at the BBQ focused NH locations. It's not quite as a big food menu selection as a Sheetz or a Wawa and no fountain drinks here. The kitchen is open from 6 am to 6 pm (weekdays), to 4 pm (weekends).

We selected: * Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap * Chick Salad Wrap The sandwiches are large and the prices very reasonable. However, I found the Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap to be extremely dry, not well made and very unappealing. I ate a few bites, unwrapped the wrap and picked at the dry lettuce inside. The chicken was so dry, that I tossed 90% of the sandwich. The Chicken Salad Wrap was better, though other than the sheer size of the sandwich, average at best. Would I return here? Perhaps, but only if another better option seemed unavailable.

I've had one particular employee who works the register for the convenient counter. I come to Brimfield three times a year for a week. This is the second encounter with said employee. I 100% abide by and understand that an ID is required for alcohol purchase. HOWEVER, to be completely rude, curt, eye rolling, and snide is uncalled for. A simple, "if you bring your ID back you may purchase this," would be suffice. Don't try to look for a reason not to sell me a product, i.e expiration date, etc. This was not great customer service. If you don't like your job, quit.

A GIGANTIC thank you to the guys who inspected my car on Tuesday September 4th, and while I drove…read moreaway with a big, glaring, bright red rejected sticker (I didn't even realize what was wrong with it and thankfully had an appointment for something else at the dealership the next day) they explained the state's newest rules regarding inspections (thanks, Massachusetts) and why the window tint installed just a year ago was now no longer legal (again, thanks for that, Massachusetts). As luck would have it, I had to be back this way at the end of the week for a wedding in Amherst, so I zoomed in for a re-inspection with one new tire and no window tint (and it was HOT this week!) a few days later and drove away 3 minutes later with a normal sticker. For anyone who may have similar issues this year, remember that these are not their rules, they just enforce them (and the inspection is now monitored on video, so Big Brother RMV can watch). Gas was cheap as well, so I filled up before heading on my way.
