Horrible Customer Service My online pickup order is 4 hours late. They did not contact me letting me know. If they had let me know I could have gone and gotten my items myself, but now I don't have time. When I called the store I was on hold for an hour waiting for a manager only to be hung up on by a team member. When I tried calling back they continued to hang up. I called the customer service number and they couldn't even get through to talk to the store. I spent 1.5 hours trying to get this figured out. No compensation was offered. All they said is when they get a hold of the store they'll get back to me. The club manager at this location is absolutely TOP NOTCH and consistently delivers an AMAZING customer experience. He truly values his customers. I've been a loyal Sam's Club member for years, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the 135th St store to everyone I know. I used to live in the area and this was always a great location. Tonight it was an absolute dump. The veggies were disgusting. Peppers, strawberries and tomatoes were rotting. I know some patrons prefer the location on 95th street, but I am the opposite. Here's why: A little more low key: I feel like the 95th street location is way more busier than this location. (Probably because it's right off the highway) Here, at least you do not have to circle the lot to find somewhere to park. Get the App: Ordering pickup or delivery from the app is honestly the best thing and saves you the heartache from wandering the store in confusion. I have ordered pickup from the app previously, and it was very easy. Plus, it was nice to just walk up to the front, get my things and leave. Store layout: I can see why people prefer the 95th street location for its layout over this one. It does seem it is more difficult to find the things you need in the store versus the other. I do like that there is a fast lane for checkout and there were associates at the registers helping things move along. Overall: 8/10 There isn't much to say about Sam's Club. You get what you get and most stores are pretty much the same, minus the store layout and inventory. You can't go wrong with this location and from previous visits, it's best to come during the weekday if crowds aren't your thing. read more

Used to trust that I would get my complete delivery order but today that was not true. The club is refusing to answer the phone and finally hangs up on you without answering. Chat does not work on the website. So I can do nothing about the fact that I paid for items I did not get. If some idiot realizes that part of my order is still back at the store and delivers it later today I will not be home so the milk will sour and the rolls will go bad as the items sit in the hot sun of my afternoon front porch. Compared to other Sam's Club locations, this one is very mediocre based on my experiences. Store layout is a little different than its peers, but the main inconvenience is getting in/out of the store and it's parking lot. Even filling up with gas at the Sam's gas station creates a traffic jam. Staff are very friendly, which keeps this rating at a 3/5, but otherwise I would be rating it a 1/5 or 2/5. I ain't going lie, I'm not a fan of this location. My primary location is on 95th St. so keep that in mind. This place is all sorts of backward from the Sam's I've been to. Maybe it's the way my mind works, but I feel like I'm in a state of dissociation whenever I come in here. I'm all turned around and it takes me forever to find anything. With most Sam's, I know where things are located, but my mind has to work extra hard to find where anything is with this location. Also, what evil place stores dairy in a walk-in fridge with a blower? Even in the summertime like now and I'm in less clothes than usual, I'm risking gangrene to get a few jugs of milk and some butter. And I'm not the only one leaving there shivering. Why for the love of God does this Sam's feel that an open walk-in fridge is good for the environment, I'll never understand. Also, I hate their check out lanes. So many self checkouts that I feel they should give me a discount for scanning my own things. I realize this is after all Walmart so they do try to cut as much costs as possible. However, I would think since I have to pay for a membership, I would get some kind of perks like someone manning the register? Lastly, I really dislike this Sam's because they have no car wash unlike the 95th one. Why? Probably because they don't have the space to put in one so you probably have to go across the street and pay about $20+ to have a bunch of high school kids cleaning your car. What have I missed with this review? I always feel discombobulated when I come here. The only benefit is that their clothing seems to be a bit cheaper than the one on 95th so I drop in here when I'm looking for clothes for the kiddos. Disappointed with this place. And their customer service is very awful . I have had the worst experience with this location ever. Steer clear if you can. I even spoke with management confirming the same day delivery. This Sam's is on top of it. With priority membership, you not only earn cash back but the website offers free delivery on just about anything. They have also added a pick up service that is pure convenience. This club has done some extensive remodeling over the past year. They have added some of the best of the best (seafood chosen with vegetables and seasonings) that you you simply take home and cook. A new meat counter where you can choose, if you desire, the exact number of steaks or whatever. The scan n go is one of the best things this club has to offer. You install the app, scan the items as you put them in the cart and check out. No need to wait in lines. The person at the exit scans your phone and away you go. The new cafe area offers more choices and you place your order and pay thru their ipads. Great staff - the pharmacy is the best I've ever experienced. Mark in vision is an absolute sweetheart - Laurie at checkout, I could go on and on. Only one negative and that is Sally at entrance or exit. Entering, she is way too pushy over donating to various causes and exiting - Let's just say I have tried, gone out of my way to be as friendly as possible and I have never saw the slightest smile from her. I like the low prices and the fast self checkout. I have also found the service to be friendly and helpful, but don't expect to have someone assist you in the aisles if you can't find your way. Exceptional employees at the pharmacy.I recently started caring for my elderly mother in law. She gets her scripts filled at Sam's. Ive not neem charged with that task. I'm hugely impressed with the overall upbeat attitude of the staff in the pharmacy department. My CVS pharmacy is the typical fill your script, smile and pay kind of place. Sam's staff however is smiling ,sure, but they often know patients names including mine. Bazaar how above and beyond they all go. They interact with each other and customers in an amazing way. My hat goes off to some great hires and applaud a job well done for these ladies. read more

I wound up with both a Sam's membership and a Costco membership because Sam's is closer to my house and sometimes we stop there for gas. I'm a fan of warehouse shopping because we have a large family and a pack of 6 granola bars from Hyvee last exactly 1 minute at my house--there's just no point in it. I don't find myself shopping very much at Sam's very often because it seems like they carry more of the "5 gallon drum of cheetos" set of products when what I'm looking for is like a "5 gallon vat of organic almond butter" which can easily be found at Costco. Costco almost always has organic, healthy-ish stuff. Dye free snacks for my kiddos etc. Yes, yes--I'm THAT mom. The picky food mom. Gluten free mom. Then there's Costco's off brand, Kirkland Signature. I will put their detergent up against Tide any day of the week (Consumer Reports agrees). Almost all of their Kirkland products are awesome. Member's Mark? It's just Walmart fare. So, dollar for dollar--you be the judge. I don't think I will be renewing my Sam's card this year. read more

This particular Sam's has a cheaper tax rate than the 95tth and Quivira location. That's important to me because I buy the snacks for my job and I'm on a fixed budget. Every cent counts. It should be noted that they don't carry all of the same items. Pearson's Peppermint Patties for example, they don't have them and I'm not going to pay extra for York. No way, no how. Other than that it's your standard bulk item store. I'm a big fan of the "Click and Pull" -- what I don't like is the amount of paper that you end up with ...so wasteful. You pick your items online, go in and have them pull the prestocked cart, jump in line (or go to customer service) and they scan your stack of papers, pay and you are outtie! This is pretty handy for people who end up with more than they came for... totally cuts down on impulse buys. read more

The gas pump here also takes VS/MS. For those in the same boat as I and want more bang for your buck with miles or rewards cards, we can use VISA/Master at these pumps. ( If you haven't done your homework in that arena, Southwest Rapid Rewards is hands down the best program many years running. They partnered with Chase, which has a fee, like most, but generally if you use it and get the miles it is worth it. If you don't know, they charge businesses more when we use our rewards cards. Yes, the reward points are paid for mostly by the businesses.) I'm guessing they are getting better consideration for processing fees by taking mostly Discover (just like Costco's exclusive relationship with AMX) inside the clubs. I frequent this location for club and gas because of proximity. It is always clean. The restrooms are likely checked frequently each day. When you have kids, you tend to visit public restrooms often. Most people tend to consider public restrooms more on the filthy side but these are always clean. There is a cleaning log by the door too. There core items are reliable. For businesses, they don't seem to carry the 33 gal trash bags in 320 quantity (only available at the 95th & Monrovia (East of I-35)). I love the self checkouts. When you put your items in the cart, face the bar code in an easy view, typically face up. I'm pretty good with a scan gun. Perhaps not Clint Eastwood yet but I can finish faster than most of the cashiers. Not sure if that plays into my impatience or that the workers are paid hourly. :-) We frequent the food court lots too. Tables usually clean. Don't leave too long, like when your kids need the restroom in the middle of their pizza, or the staff may clean out your table thinking you have left. William is typically at the exit door checking. As a brand new Sams member and handicapped person I received the worst service I've ever encountered on Monday. After asking for help at the register with my purchases to my car I was told to ask the lady at the front door. So I use one crutch to walk and push the cart with my stomach as my other crutch drags at my side with nobody to help me. I get to the front and ask Sally for help to my car and she asked about 5 men to come help me and they all dismissed her. As it hurt worse to stand there for another 15 minutes as it did to just walk to my car finally a nice customer asked if she could help me to my car. Not one single employee besides Sally (who couldn't leave her post) would help me. Absolutely horrible. I'm not thinking I'll become a sams member next year at all and I'll be sharing my story with people. read more

Never Ever Buy tires from any Sam's Club. The service is terrible. It is not worth "the perceived" savings. I have had nothing but trouble with all Sam's tire shops. They screwed up my wife's Honda minivan by breaking the Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor (TPMS) inside the rim. This caused the ABS and Electronic Stability Control system not to work. Also the van vibrated terribly. I took it back to Sam's club and they could not fix or figure out. They said they removed the tire and did not find anything wrong. Went to two other Sam's tire shops in KC until finally figured out. Later I took the minivan in for tire rotation. They torqued the wheels wrong and I had to replace the brake rotors. Absolutely no service from Sam's on this. They just had an absolutely stupid look on their face and no answers. Took another car in and had the same crappy service. Hell they did not even fix the nail hole. I took it back 30 minutes after picking up. They said I must have hit another nail. I say BS to that; same tire -- no way. They also torqued my lug nuts wrong again. Most recently, this past weekend, I took my car in for tire rotation and needed to fix tires that have slow leak. They told me that there were 4 cars in front of me and they could not get my car in until 4 days later. I was upset because there was still 6 hours before closing time. He said that there was 4 cars ahead of me. I said that is unacceptable- 2 guys that were working in the tire shop have been able to take care of the other 4 cars in 2 hours --tops. Sam's absolutely does not care about service or your safety after they sell the tires to you. I wrote an email to Sam's Corporate about one of their stores breaking my TPMS. I never received a response. Totally unacceptable. When they broke the TPMS they put my wife and kids safety in jeopardy since the ABS and electronic stability control did not work. AVOID SAM's tire shop. It is a terrible deal and they do shoddy work that will be a major inconvenience and possible put you and your family's safety in jeopardy. I normally don't write responses but felt more people should know not to take your vehicle to Sam's Club tire shop- not just this one but all of them. read more

Go else where for tires. Raymore location is SUPER HELPFUL. This location just wants to shoo you off. Why was there only one tech available? Waiting three hours I saw them do it to two people. I came in to get a screw puncture fixed, was immediately told it would be three hours, fine I'll wait. Secondly 2 & half hours in I was told it couldn't be fixed. I said fine, I'll take a new tire. When it was told to them I just bought the tires in June all the sudden it could be repaired. Shady. I don't trust them. read more

Good luck getting any help. The employees are nice with the exception of some kids working in electronics. They get pretty heated if a customer prefers another brand of phone than the brand they own. Most inefficient pharmacy I've ever been too. Not only they close for an hour in the middle of day, they are incredibly SLOW and understaffed. After standing in line for 25 min after their break, I was told they didn't have my rx and that it had to be ordered. Wouldn't be here until tomorrow. A phone call would have been nice.
