We purchased Michelin tires for our vehicle at Sam's Club in March. Recently, one of the tires began losing pressure, so we tried to schedule an appointment with the tire center. For three days in a row, we called multiple times and experienced several unacceptable situations. Sometimes nobody answered and we were transferred to a call center in Asia. Other times nobody answered at all. On more than one occasion, someone picked up the phone and immediately hung up. We eventually went to Sam's Club early in the morning and explained that we needed someone to diagnose and address our tire issue. After waiting three hours, we were told that we could either wait another two hours or come back another day. Bottom line, do not purchase tires from Sam's Club if you expect reliable service. Do not expect to be able to schedule an appointment. The customer service is horrific, and the frustration, wasted time, and inconvenience are simply not worth it. read more

We have been a member of your club since we moved up here from Orlando in 2000. We were also a member in Orlando, but it was a drive to get to the store. Which we still drive from Crawfordville to come to your store to shop. Anyway, a while back, you used to carry the "Treasures by the Sea" breaded flounder. We always bought 3 or 4 pkgs. of it every month. It seemed to be a good seller because you were always low in stock. I can not find this fish anywhere in Tallahassee. I know there is a distinct difference between Sam's and Costco. I also know I get the sideways look when I tell people I prefer Sam's- but I do! Sure there is opportunity for improvement. There are some REALLY good staff at Sam's but there are more really lackadaisical ones. With that said - I don't usually need staff so I don't consider it a big deal. I use the app and scan my purchases as well as pay for them all at the same time. It makes it so easy! I love that the aisles are extra wide and roomy although the recent changes are starting to feel a little crowded. Overall Sam's carries more brands I love and I think I get a better price on the items I buy a lot of. The other bonus is the parking is way more convenient than Costco. Overall - if I get to chose - it's Sam's 90% of the time! read more

In my opinion, Sam's is often overlooked by smaller households. I am here to tell u to give Sam's a try. I reside in a 2 person household and I make a trip to Sam's at least once per month. One of the great options Sam's provides is the ability to share your household membership with one other person. This makes for an even better deal! In addition to shopping for parties, BBQ's, potlucks, sports events and other gatherings, Sam's is the "go to" for the average working adult. Who wants to run to the store because you have run out of or are low on necessities likes toilet paper, laundry detergent, soap etc? In case I am still failing to make a point, here are some of the items I frequently purchase at Sam's: toilet paper, paper towel, air freshener, laundry detergent, trash bags, water, gatorade, eggs, coffee, coffee creamer, soap and other toiletries, snack items, wine, beer, cooking oil, condiments seasonings, paper plates, plastic cutlery, some meats and produce etc. Yes, I spend "more" money at one time than I would making several trips to Walmart, but I stock up in order to make less frequent trips to the store AND I'm saving in the long run because at wholesale prices I am getting "more bang for my buck." Most of the above mentioned items do not expire so this can still work for smaller households. Sam's usually has the lowest price in town on gas and great prices in their tire and battery center. Other available departments: Optical, pharmacy, electronics, bakery (their cakes are great), jewelry, furniture, patio and garden and photo. I will say that the lines are usually long but this is to be expected as many people shop wholesale. However, there are self check out registers available. read more

I love this Sam's Club in Tallahassee! The employees are great, customers are kind, and it's easy to get in and out of. Further, curbside pickup is awesome as is the Scan & Go app for contactless checkout. Delivery is also excellent. I have shopped the competitor (Costco) many times and finally let my membership expire with the other club because I find the prices and convenience are better at Sam's Club. I also like the reliability of products being in stock, plus the gas station is much easier to access quickly. Many times I shopped both places on the same day, and I always found my experience at Sam's Club to be better. Yes, even I am surprised about that, but as a result, I'll keep shopping here! read more

I went to Sams Club in Tallahassee Florida yesterday to pickup some groceries, mostly meat. I grabbed a 4.58 lb. of 12% fat ground beef priced at $4.58 per pound. When I arrived home, 50 miles away, I went to break up the meat into 1+ lbs per bag. I have a food scale at home to take the guess work out of it. I took half the meat and set it on the scale. It read just over 1.7 lbs. Curious, I added the second half an got 3.41 lbs. My wife noticed that the price per pound and weight are the same, even though the weight was wrong by 1.17 pounds. So I called Sams and asked for the meat dept. The phone rang about 20 times and disconnected. I called back immediately and asked for the store manager. That phone rang about 20 times and then redirected to another phone that rang about 20 times and then disconnected. I called back immediately and this time the main phone rang and rang until it just disconnected me. Unbelieveably horrible business practice. Honestly, BJ's and Costco are my favorites when it comes to warehouse household items. Sam's looks similar to other set ups: high ceilings, cheap junk food ready to eat at the front, optometry, and household renovation items for sale when you first walk in. The only reason I gave 3 and not 4 stars is due to the lack of selection in items for sale (it seems they keep cutting selection; used to sell Brita's filters, certain deodorant, and other sundries-no longer available now). I LOVE their app as you can scan all items in your cart, pay, and check out upon exit. I'll continue to go here due to this app alone. read more

**BUY BEWARE** This review does not pertain to all Sam's Club locations--only Dick Wilson, Tallahassee FL. I haven't met any rude employees, but over the years, we've watched this location continually go downhill. I love to garden and will purchase the boxes of bulbs, tubers, etc and it never fails that someone has opened the box and switched plants around. It's happened with roses, shrubs, and blueberry plants. Heck! I bought a box of Häagen-Dazs ice cream bars, placed them in the freezer when I got home and that evening, I went to get a bar and found the box had been opened at the end (wasn't obvious in the store...why would I check? Right?!) and FIVE (5) bars were missing--I was pissed!! Sam's made it right, but sadly, the store is suffering due to the thieving customers who frequent this location. What do they say about one bad apple spoiling the barrel? Well, this is obviously more than one bad apple. Never have we had this problem at Costco. I have been a member of Sam's Club for 33 years and Costco for 15. Contemplating canceling Sam's membership, but plus membership does provide free shipping and at least I can skip this location. Ugh! Visited here because they carried a collegiate item that our household wanted for our home. The item is a luxury item so it doesn't fall into the "save in bulk" category, but that is the beauty of this type of store: You WILL find items for your home that you can stack up on (instead of constantly adding it to your grocery store list) AND you will find a hidden gem (literarily and figuratively) as they sell jewelry. This location has added self check out lanes for those who want to do their thing. Folks familiar with Costco & Sam's know about samples at random times during the week and on the weekends. I am always up to try quinoa chips, something sweet or a new drink. This is how you can discover something new - or make a meal - either way, everyone is a winner! Worst experience of any Sam's Club ever. Was looking for a TV. The selection was pitiful. I finally gave up. I needed a fire extinguisher and smoke detectors. While in the isle, 2 employees showed up with a forklift and closed off the isle, then started giving me dirty looks. Well! So much for that. I grabbed dog food and headed for the cash registers, which were backed up; so I went to the self serve checkout. Big mistake! The computers malfunctioned, further delaying my bad experience. Now my credit card didn't work. What a surprise. I ended up walking out with NOTHING!! My first and LAST trip to the Tallahassee SAM's club. Be warned...It's no fun going there. The good part is the employees all observe COVID , The other good is the floor plans are always layered out where I can figure out to get what I need . Now about the customer service. That's the bad part . If you need just a-little help finding a item your not going to get much assistance for the store employees in Tallahassee, I don't know about other places but here in Tallahassee you better look around and be able to figure out where your items my be available. This Sam's Club is pretty standard. They opened their doors to those after the hurricane and lifted their membership. This Sam's was busy due to the resulting influx of people. But they had enough lanes open to get everyone in and out. The staff was friendly and helpful. The cashier even recommended a bottle of wine I could try next time. They have cheap champagne, which I took advantage of for mimosas. I enjoyed their food court. It's cheap, classic, and straight to the point. I liked the Icee and breadsticks. Food prices, pretty standard Sam's Club experience. No complaints here! I would go again. read more

Went in today to obtain TurboTax. Bought at self service and went over and waited in line to obtain the software as sticker on the box instructed. Got up to the clerk after quite a period of time in line and she said " I can't help you, you need to stand over there by the cage where they are locked up and wait". I said you "must be joking" since there was NOBODY over there. She said eventually one of 3 people will show up. I walked over pissed and told her that was "jacked up". Very poor customer service in the "customer service" dept. Was too inflamed to rationally interact with a upper level management person (if one even works on Sunday's). Eventually someone showed up. Beware of poor service here. The competition may be a better total package. If you don't take care of your customers they go away. read more

Tallahassee's Sam's Club is pretty standard. As they say, if you've been to one, you've been to all of them. I found it surprising how tucked away it is, so you cannot find this location from the street. I think this has something to do with building codes within the city. Anyway, Sam's Club is mostly a weekend shopping experience, which means you will always find lines here. Don't be in a hurry. The bulk buying seems to be the most popular around a holiday, so keep that in mind prior to Thanksgiving, Christmas and 4th of July. There is a large selection of wine, as well as computers, food, and other goods. It always seems well stocked and well visited. This location also features a gas station and an attached liquor store with a separate entrance. If you like to buy your toothpicks by the thousands, then this Sam's Club is for you. read more

Somehow this store runs out of pizza at the food court. I tried yesterday at 7pm and was told sold out. Called again at 5:45 pm tonight and was again told they sold out. New to Tallahassee so when we went to Sam's we were taken back at the rudeness of the staff that stand around and chat and dance while the cashier lines back up. Attempted to speak to supervisor about a concerns and wasn't even listened to. Hung up and tried to connect with the meat department to get someone on the phone to hopefully transfer me, same problem, no answer. Hung up and tried the pharmacy, she put me on hold for 10 minutes, came back to the phone and said she couldn't guarantee anyone will answer for her either (in her own store?!??) and put me on hold for another 8 minutes. I recently had the opportunity to frequent the Tallahassee Sam's Club located just off of Capitol Circle. The club is in a nice location and has gas for your car. The parking was adequate and was relatively clean during my visits. Inside, the layout was quite different from other Sam's that I frequent around the country. Not bad, just different. The Tire Store was one of the worst I have ever seen at a Sam's Club. I took my car into the tire area for air. Sam's policy is to check the air in the tires for free. The tech, and I use the term loosely, did not ask what pressure I wanted in the tires, just checked the air pressure, and walked away. He obviously did not care. In addition, when replacing the cap on the tire nipple, he carelessly only screwed it back on about half way. He did this on all 4 tires. About a month later my Daughter had a similar experience. The tech was short with her, and did not ask what pressure to set the tires at. Later that day, I checked the pressure on the tires and found them to be "out of spec". I had to remove some air out of each tire to get them to balance out. After purchasing a battery from Sam's, the install was not good. After I returned home, I checked the battery install and noticed the battery connectors were loose, so loose in fact that I could grab one and twist it barehanded. These connectors are where the car gets its power from the battery! This would have caused problems at a later date. To sum up, the quality control at this Sams Club is really bad. I spoke with the Manager, and he did seem concerned. I mentioned "retraining" his staff and he said he would speak to them. Just speaking to them will not change their behavior. I suggest retraining or making some changes to the staff. I am giving this Sams Club only 2 stars because their attitude is so bad. read more

We're letting our membership expire. On more than one occasion we've seen how the black employees will ignore or dismiss a white customer to help another black customer. Service slow and lackadaisical. The shelves are not full with inventory and the meat cools are kept in the similar manner. The store has gone down hill in both customer service, employee helpfulness and selection. Time to give the place the boot. read more
