Great food and service. Parking is limited, but worth the hassle to have a tasty meal

Positives: I had the Chicken Tenders and Fries. Excellent. My wife had the Fish Taco's. Said they were very good (Mahi-Mahi). Negatives: Once seated, when my wife put her hands on the table top, it rocked so badly our drinks nearly turned over. Our server was no where around, so I went back up front and asked to be seated at another table. The gentleman that seated, and moved us, then proceeded to seat 4 women at the same rocking table. One of the women insisted they correct it, and napkins were stuffed underneath. At our replacement table, servers kept bumping into my chair to apparently access a work station. Service was really weak. Emma was pleasant, started out great, but it went downhill from there. My iced tea glass sat empty far too long, as did my wife's Coke Zero. Had Emma been covered up, I would have understood, but the restaurant wasn't busy (we were there early). Emma needs to focus more on her tables versus standing in the food prep area shooting the breeze with co-workers and sipping on her soda. Could have, should have, been a 5 star experience, but the lack of service significantly screwed up the overall experience. read more

Best place to watch a game, they have so many tvs! They have a daily happy hour which features a few different things as well as some seasonal drinks. The service is incredible, everyone is always attentive and friendly. As far as food I recommend: the ribs (truly fall off the bone, this is always our go to!!), the mac n cheese is amazing, the burger, tenders, and the pizzas are also good! We typically stick to that list and don't deviate as we haven't had the best experience with the rest. We find ourselves coming twice a month for the ribs alone! read more

Impeccable sliders. Loud. Messy. Absolutely LOVED the sliders. And my friend's pasta was rich and delicious. The place was very loud and didn't have as much character to it as I had hoped. But! Would recommend for the food. Our server was very attentive and polite. read more

Even with a crowd and a queue, we were seated very quickly. The entrance is set up very well for handling a queue but the hostess worked through it well enough. Our server arrived as we settled in for our drink orders and to answer questions. Very conscientious and attentive service. From the size of the crowd we were concerned there would be a wait for prep but fear not we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly our order arrived. The fish tacos were flavorful and the tortillas were stuffed to capacity. My wife's French dip was large enough that I was able to have a quarter and I must say I agree with her it was very nicely done. The dining room is large and adequately lit. We arrived at 6:30 on Wednesday nite and the restaurant was packed. But we were seated right away. Our server, Noah took our drink order and shortly after the drinks were delivered. Although we have eaten there before, I asked Noah if he recommended the roast chicken; he said it was delicious and described it. The roast chicken was fantastic! Thanksgiving night, my nephew, brother, and I discovered Sam's Place was open after driving and calling around to many places. Personally, I hate myself for perpetuating keeping businesses open on Thanksgiving as I feel the employees should be given that as a paid holiday. However, we went and Jordan was our server and he was so sweet and excellent! He responded to us as if he was thrilled working, whether true or not, professional. He welcomed us to the table and beside the fact that his server skills are Michelin Star, really, his warmth was comforting to us as we were there for sad reasons. We really needed someone like Jordan and luckily got what we needed. I commend corporate for hiring him and I hope his skills earn him great salary and benefits and some holidays off. BTW, the food and beer were delicious! read more

My date and I went there for lunch. Place was packed, but there was plenty of room for more. Our server was excellent. She greeted us and brought us waters while we peruse through the extensive menu. My day and I were amazed at all the sports memorabilia around the room. Fairly lively inside and yet we could still hear each other talk. Somehow we both decided on the chicken with fried chicken Pieces. Services fairly quick. The food was very tasty and we both agreed we will come back again and perhaps try dinner. Sam's place rocks! Had lunch with family and friends and everyone enjoyed their meals. From tacos, to club and pastrami sandwiches to salad and pasta everything was tasty. FYI, the blackened fish tacos are amazing. Service was fast and the ambience was casual. Lots of different sports being played on the numerous televisions throughout the place. They accommodated a large party of 10 on short notice and never made us feel anything but welcome. They even let us stay a bit after hours to hang out while they were cleaning, which we really appreciated. Ample parking and a clean restaurant. The Cajun Pepperoni Pizza was amazing as well as the Spicy Chorizo Queso. Service was quick and super friendly. We would all come back again, thanks for the hospitality guys! read more

The wait was not long. The food was average. The atmosphere is very dark. The waitress was awful. Gave her the benefit of it just being busy. However, she was sweet as pie and visited with the table next to us. If we requested anything she slammed it on the table as she walked by. Never smiled or visited with us. Great menu, something for everyone, even accommodates gluten free pretty well.Wish they had gluten free buns and safe French fries.

Sam's place is located in Belle Mede from what I was told. It's a family friendly style sports bar. The booth are comfortable and really clean. The music late 70's or 80's rock. (4/4) Ruben- Tender corn beef, tart sauerkraut , horseradish Russian dressing, semi crispy good marble rye. Crispy fries on the outside and fluffy on the inside. (3/4) works pizza- my FIL order it shared with SIL and they said it was full of flavor, crispy crust. (2/4) artichoke- came with tortilla chips, the salsa was good was definitely like pace salsa can't go wrong with it but still just pace. The artichoke dip was hot good tasty nothing to write home about (4/4) hot wings- so my six year old get dry wings she loves them she said they were awesome. I hit a knife against one they were definitely crispy and yet still juicy. She did her yummy dance as she ate them so I say it was a win. My husband order their version of a long island with a float of raspberry liquor, with light sweet and sour on it was good, solid poor from the bar well balanced. Our server was kind, on top of asking for drink refills and checking in on the table. Overall he did an awesome job and made the experience really nice. In the area I would give it a try. read more

Sam's Place sits in a small plaza on Highway 100 in Belle Meade and is a local, tavern-esk sports bar that feels like it has been here for ages. The first thing I noticed when we walked into Sam's was how dark it was, so this is where the "tavern" aspect comes to mind and once you get past that, you then see the droves of TV's lining every wall, ceiling and post in the place! So, hearing that this place was voted best sports bar several years since opening is not hard to believe. We came here on a football Sunday around 2:00 PM, it was a day where the Titans did not play, so the crowd was tempered and smaller than what I suspect for Titans games. We were the only ones at the front, and it took a few moments to get sat. The gentleman working as host was not very welcoming or friendly, as he just picked up menus and told us to follow him. We did just that, he pointed to the table, sat the menus down and off he went back to the front. On our way to our table, which was about halfway into the dining room, we passed so many tables that were not bussed. It was not just one or two, it was legit every open table to the point that it felt kind of dirty. During our entire meal, every table immediately near us sat with dirty plates and food on it. I get staffing could be an issue, but the Host returned to his cell phone after seating us and during our meal only sat 2 other tables, so not sure if his time was really well used...but I am not the Manager of the place, just a patron with opinions. lol Once we got to the table, our waitress came and greeted us after a few moments. She grabbed drinks and took our order. We tossed in an appetizer of the Spicy Chorizo Queso Dip. It was a solid way to start the meal as it was a thick and rich queso with chorizo, could have been a tad more...but when is there ever enough chorizo? For our mains, I got the Sweet and Spicy Wings with a side of Onion rings and my partner got the Original Club with Mac and Cheese. The wings were excellent! They were meaty, tender and coated in the sauce, which was a tangy spiced sauce that gave you a little kick, but not enough to make you uncomfortable! The onion rings were standard, but well portioned and fried perfectly. The club was stacked high and quite tasty! However the macaroni and cheese fell flat for us both. We of course opted for dessert and chose to go with the Iron Skillet Brownie. Normally it comes with the ice cream on top, but we tossed it on the side. The iron skillet was packed with gooey brownie and topped with a chocolate sauce. Scoop that up with some ice cream and boyyyyyyyyyyy! Overall, the food at Sam's was really great and worth a repeat visit for sure! We were thrown off by the whole vibe of the place and the lack luster service. I feel this is one of those cases where a 3.5 is warranted, but since that is not possible, I am good with 4 out of 5. read more

The best $15 you'll spend on an all you can eat brunch anywhere. Buffet came with French toast, eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, biscuits, sausage gravy, and creole shrimp and grits. Met some family here because they had been once and said it was pretty good...and it was just that, pretty good. We don't get down to Nashville that often but we are always looking for good places to eat when we are here.. Nothing special and certainly not horrible. We started off with appetizers, ordered the spinach/artichoke dip as well as the chicken nachos. I liked the chicken nachos. The chicken was thinly sliced and the toppings were all good and fresh. The artichoke dip was good, but not something I would get again. For my meal, I ordered the Black Label Burger with fries. It's put together nicely and the meat was seasoned well, but...like the artichoke dip, not something I would order again. My wife, and mother in-law, ordered the chicken tenders. While I did not try them, they both said they were really good...crispy outside with tender juicy chicken inside. Service was less than exemplary. When our appetizers were brought out, we asked for five small plates to share everything and never received them. We weren't asked about refills until our meals came out and then we weren't even asked by our server, we were asked about refills by the lady who brought our food to the table. Shortly after our food was brought out, our server stopped by to check in on us rather haphazardly...as of she wanted an answer, but didn't really care what it was.. When finished, my wife asked for a small to-go box which took way longer to get than it should. This place of Sam's isn't bad, but it's not a place I would come back to or recommend. Ventured here for the first time last night, and it's a solid neighborhood spot. I live about 5 minutes away, so very convenient with easy parking. Staff and customers listening and following rules and wearing masks which made me very happy. Our server, Alli, deserves 5 stars. She is kind, attentive, friendly and on top of everything. Thank you Alli! Ordered the Cajun pepperoni pizza and crust was flat with no flavor or chew. I'm not sure if they forgot the Cajun spices on ours or if it just didn't have that much, but I was not tasting any. A basic pepperoni pizza that unfortunately underwhelmed. I wouldn't order it again. They had many other menu items that looked good... so maybe we just picked the wrong one. Atmosphere was fine. Very standard sports bar/restaurant. Clean. Dinner tonight at Sam's Place. So good, and on the heels of my last less-than-enthusiastic review of another restaurant, this was such a positive experience (as usual!). The food is consistently delicious, the portions large, and the price point great. I ordered the fish tacos tonight - blackened barramundi with guacamole, pico, lettuce, and a spicy ranch dressing; garnished with limes, cilantro and a tasty salsa. The tacos are loaded to the gills (pun intended ). The tacos come with fries or an alternate side - I have to say...Sam's fries are outstanding! Sorry the photo I'm providing is after I ate one of the tacos and a big chunk of the fries - couldn't help but to dive right in! Some of my other favs here are the Farmhouse Chicken Salad, the Roasted Chicken, the Chicken Tenders, and the burger.
