Lovely coffee shop plus. Well planned interior has several different grouping areas making the space interesting to sit in and people watch. The decor is bright and cheerful, spacious in feel. If you look around you'll find area history on the walls. Staff are wonderful and knowledgeable about the products they serve. Coffee was excellent as were the baked goods we tried. read more

Can't disagree too much with other reviews as this is likely the best place in town to get a coffee and even a light breakfast. Lots on the menu to choose from but the smoked salmon bagel was awesome. Could have included a little more chips but not really a big deal since we weren't that hungry. The place is huge and in an old bank on the corner which is beautiful on the outside. The inside is very hipster with lots of seating. The one thing we did find odd was the seating when you come in. The area with tables is near the washrooms and one table is just beside a washroom which is pretty gross. Not sure why they put seating on the wall of a washroom, but just avoid sitting there and try to get a seat in the main coffee shop or take your order to go. No official parking but we just parked in the lot across the street with a strip mall. Not a big deal if you're walking, but just the entrance on the side of the building. read more

This is one of my favorite spots in Summerside. It is truly a gem of the city, I have yet to find a better cafe. Considering the options here, it is in my opinion the best. It not only has an amazing atmosphere, but they have a great choice of drinks and food with vegetarian and vegan options. They have a good selection of non-coffee drinks on top of typical espresso and drip coffee drinks. Their food menu is just as diverse. It includes local tastes, vegetarian and vegan options, as well as daily soups and meal specials for breakfast and lunch. I do not eat meat or dairy products, and found that their menu was very adaptive to my diet. All of the drinks can be made dairy-free! I've ordered their mocha, caramel macchiato, chai tea latte and matcha tea late. Both the caramel macchiato and matcha tea were on the sweeter side with a dull flavor, keep this in mind. My favorite was by far the Mocha because it was more rich than sweet. The chai tea was also enjoyable; just the right amount of cinnamon. Food wise, I have tried their "health sandwich" and a sweet potato curry soup. The soup was dairy free and excellent but the sandwich was not so exciting without cheese. You may notice my review on food and drinks was critical. The five stars was awarded because it is by far the best in the area considering the limited options in summerside. Overall, it has a great atmosphere with a simple but inclusive menu. read more

I stopped by here a few Fridays ago with my girlfriend for a coffee. The inside of the shop is nice with wood floors and black furniture, very chic modern. We had arrived just after it had opened and were greeted by a crying barista who had obviously been cutting onions. I ended up ordering a dark roast drip coffee while my girlfriend had a cappuccino. The barista seemed nice and ultimately brought the cappuccino to the table we were sitting at which overlooked a main street. Both my coffee and the cappuccino hit the spot and we were satisfied. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again if I am ever in Summerside. The coffee was good and the barista nice. read more

Samuels Cafe & lobster fest 2016 go hand and hand in my books. The breakfast sandwich with a nice chunk of lobster, local ham and cheese, egg and fresh herbs was a fantastic way to kick off my vacation. It was a bit pricy due to adding lobster $17. The light meal came to $20 after coffee and tip. There are more adorable options on the menu. But as I finish my last bit I feel comfortably full and ready for my day. This salty traveler felt like spoiling himself this morning. After all it's my 40th birthday! Yay happy birthday me. The atmosphere of Samuels is relaxing and clean, lots of local colour here. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. The location is lovely with a coffeehouse build around and inside an old bank. Good coffee at a fair price. I enjoyed the caramel macchiato while my wife had the caramel cappuccino. Both were excellent. There was plenty of tables and spaces to sit. The main room was moderately noisy but the side/secondary rooms were on the quiet side. The view from some of the windows was nice. Atmosphere was great. Service was great. Food was amazing. But I want to talk about coffee. I don't know who roasts the coffee, but the beans were definitely not stale. They were fresh. I recognized the Guji beans right away with pleasant surprise. It's bold to go with such blueberry notes but the espresso was dialed in perfectly. I had one of the most enjoyable lattes. I am so happy that I found good coffee here, and I will always look forward to dropping by whenever I visit. read more

Best coffee on the island!! I got my usual order that I get at any coffee shop-- and iced almond milk latte with an extra shot-- and they made it so well. I love when baristas leave the layers of the milk and espresso instead of stirring it. Absolutely perfect. There's also a beautiful atmosphere and wonderful vibe. I went to this restaurant as the other half of my family went to the "Baked Potato" across the road. I have to start by saying that the staff were very hospitable and very friendly the entire time, and even answered my questions about the sandwich in a polite manner. I ordered the club (I believe that's what it was). It came as a panini and with a side of kettle chips. It was absolutely delicious and not greasy in the least for a panini. The chips were amazing too. For $11.50 all in, I would recommend this restaurant for it's service and quality of food. I left feeling full and my family even munched on my potato chips as they waited for their food from the Baked Potato. I would go back in a heartbeat to this restaurant! read more

This is a lovely coffee house located near the waterfront and boardwalk of Downtown Summerside. I've been having coffee dates here with friends for a long time. They offer an excellent lunch menu and the staff is always wonderful. The rooms are well lit and the seating is comfortable for an hour or two of lively conversation. If you had told me such a cool, trendy coffee shop was open in downtown Summerside, I am not sure I would have believed you! (Lets be honest, this little city is cute and all, but it isn't exactly known for being trendy). We happened upon this place while wandering downtown looking for a snack and some caffeine. I think it is housed in an old bank, and the building has so much character. We were really surprised at the modern but cozy interior. The white-washed brick walls, high ceilings and big windows makes it feel like a sunny artist's loft in Soho. The old vault door still exists at the back and you can walk through it and find a room with more seating (clever!). I decided to try their roasted tomato soup served with irish soda bread and a latte. Both were delicious! The soup had a great flavour and the bread was a good companion (dry enough to cut through the acidity of the tomato but not so dry that it was tough or tasteless). The service was great - speedy (even though they were fairly busy), they bring your order to your table so you don't have to stand around the counter and wait, and friendly. I waited to drink my latte until I finished my soup, and a server came over and offered to make me a new latte when I finished my soup so that I didn't have to drink it cold! I thought that was a really nice gesture, and I am pretty sure one that has never been made to me in any coffee shop I have been in before. It showed that they were actually paying attention to us customers and cared about being attentive to our needs. Looks like the coffee shop is attached to a new condo building or something (there is a showroom for the building adjacent to the coffee place when you walk in the building) that also looks very hip and lofty. If this development, and this new coffee shop, are any indication, it looks like downtown Summerside is slowly becoming an exciting place to be! read more

Busy coffee shop with nice, simple food options. I was at Sam's as a pit-stop on a business trip and just needed to get out of the car after lots of driving. Was happy to see they had a breakfast croissant sandwich on the menu. Got that as takeout and it was great when I finally got around to eating it. This cafe is pretty busy as I think it's the only coffee option in town aside from Tim's. They have wifi but I couldn't find the password posted anywhere so ask at the counter when you're ordering as there will likely be a line when you go back up to ask They have a nice assortment of coffees and Samuel's branded merch, if you're into that sort of thing. The options in Summerside are pretty slim, which is how I ended up at a coffee house for lunch. The building is gorgeous (I love historic buildings), and inside is so cosy. The menu had more options than I would have thought; I ended up having a club Panini and a chocolate mint frappe -- both of which were delicious. This is trendy and fun coffee house in Summerside (the only one that even comes close). With friendly service, interesting people watching and free internet this place covers all the right bases. Also, the restaurant is in a nice old brick building and has great atmosphere. The food is also pretty tasty...I have tried breakfast and lunch and was pleased The only downside to the place can be the parking. The parking lot is small and has some spots reserved. They have an agreement with the fish place down the road for a few spots (I would try this if you are going to be there for awhile). You can also get street parking if you are lucky. read more

Loved Samuels Coffee Shop. The owner was very welcoming to us Bermudains studying there in summerside. The decor is nice and she even shared some history about the building being a old bank. Good selection of drank shot and cold and nice sandwiches my only gripe was the hot chocolate wasn't as hot as I would liken it to be, when compared to Tim Hortons.
