My husband and I we fortunate enough to find this location on B&B Ireland. We only stayed one night due to our itinerary but it was a day and night to be remembered. The view from the property is unbelievable. The hosts are the most kind and gracious people. We we're traveling using public transport only and Susan and Desmond were so helpful, looking up schedules, locating the best boarding spots, and even going to far as to give us a lift into Waterford to further verify our transportation options. Our room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was one of the best we had in Ireland. Susan even makes her own vegan sausage. if you ever find yourself in Irelands southeast coast, you should go out of your way to stay at Samuel's Heritage. You won't regret it. read more
We stayed here for a night during the holidays. The property was clean and up to date, but it felt more like a small hotel than a bed and breakfast. The rooms were separated by a dark hallway from the main part of the property. Some people might like this as they are able to enter from the parking lot without having to come through the entrance. The reason why I am giving Samuels Heritage two stars is because upon our arrival, rather that being thanked for booking with them, we were lectured by Susan on how we should have book directly through her rather than through Hotels.com. After a long day of driving and looking forward to relaxing, it was inappropriate and tacky to for her to question our role as consumers with regard our travel decisions. Hotels.com lead us to discover the Samuels Heritage in the first place (for as much as we travel, we earn free nights). It made our stay feel awkward. On the plus side, breakfast was good -- the salmon and eggs were excellent and the scones were perfect. Desmond, Susan's husband, is a really nice guy. The eggs used were freshly collected from their chickens on site. He was out in the pouring rain, gathering eggs for the day's breakfast service. The dining room was warm and inviting. read more

My wife and I just got back from our first ever trip to Ireland. We flew into Dublin, spent a few nights in Kilkenny, then bounced around most of the country for the rest of the week, staying in B&B's most of the way (save two nights in a hotel in Kilkenny). This was our first B and B experience ever, and the first of four on this trip. First, let me just say that the Samuels Heritage is beautiful. Their location, the views, the home itself, are all amazing. The place is VERY well kept, clean and perfectly appointed. Our room included a double and twin beds, a great bathroom, and was very nicely decorated and presented. Susan met us upon arrival, and other than my own lack of understanding of B and B's, was extremely helpful. Breakfast was great the next morning, and given our "quite compressed" timelines, we didn't have too much time to linger around and stay. We have full Irish breakfast, lots of cereal and fruit options, GREAT Coffee and tea, and just excellent service all in all. Susan goes a long way to make every effort and consideration, and we hope to be back again someday - - and I really can't say enough about the location and facility itself. The first, and quite easily the best stay of our trip! read more
Stayed one night (Sept 13) with family; six adults. Part B&B, part mini hotel, the first thing you notice about Samuels Heritage is the amazing view the property boasts; simply breathtaking. Next, the warm welcome you receive from Susan makes you feel like you're family in just moments. She is truly wonderful. When we told her of our dinner plans in Waterford for the evening she volunteered to drive all of us into town! (Thanks a million for the lift Susan!) The rooms are located in an addition off the main house with a private entrance. Our room (#3) was huge and very clean. The bathroom was immaculate with some of the best shower water pressure I've ever experienced. There is also a sitting room with a mini fridge and tea/coffee. The breakfast was fantastic! The delicious homemade scones with jam, fruits, & the selections of hot items (inc a full Irish) were all very satisying and tasty. Thanks again Susan for a wonderful stay. Sorry our Uncle forget to leave his room key upon checkout, hope it finds it's way back to you via the post. I guess he, like all of us, found it really difficult to leave Samuels Heritage! read more

Samuel's Heritage was the best B&B I have ever visited. I visited with my mother during Winterval this year. From the time I called to book until after our visit, I felt like a special friend of the family. On the phone, Susan, one of the owners, asked what time our train was coming in and offered to come and collect us....for free. I have never had anyone offer that much hospitality before without being asked. Upon collection, we were brought to the gorgeous house with an amazing view of Waterford. Our rooms were hotel standard with our own bathroom and comfortable beds, but for B&B price. We asked to have breakfast at 9:30 am the next day, and were waited upon restaurant style. I had the eggs with smoked salmon, which were well cooked and freshly baked scones. After breakfast, Susan's husband offered to drop us off in town so that we would not have to take a cab. Once again, I was amazed by the level of service and hospitality. After two days of a perfect stay, my mom and I had bought more souvenirs than we expected and asked where we might be able to purchase another suitcase so we could bring everything back on the train with us.They did us one better: the owners informed us that they were headed to a conference in Dublin the next day, and so that we wouldn't have to drag all of our purchases on the train with us, they would bring our bags with them and drop them off wherever was convenient. I cannot say enough good things about our stay or our hosts. I would recommend this B&B to anyone visiting Waterford. read more

We stayed at Samuel's Heritage B&B just yesterday. Normally I would wait until I got home to leave a review but as I was sitting in bed at our next stop, I realized I wanted to write this review now before I forgot.... We went through a company that booked us at Samuel's and we are sure glad that they did. We called while driving and Desmond (one of the owners) was very polite and informative on the phone. Upon our arrival he was even more personable! He showed us around the building and to our room. He made sure that we were settled, instructed us on the phone and the internet services and offered advice for dinner. We definitely appreciated the side door to the car lot. The parking was great and the view spectacular! The room was spacious and had everything you could want. We slept well and when we went to the breakfast room at seven am (what we had requested) everything was laid out and ready to go! Here we met Susan for the first time. She was also so friendly and helpful. The buffet featured beautiful fruit and a large variety of cereals. I thoroughly enjoyed the yogurt, fruit and milled seeds. Hot breakfast is available and my husband got black pudding and apple sauce which was very good. They also have great homemade touches: scones, brown bread, jams and lovely stewed prunes and fruit! We spent awhile talking to Desmond after breakfast about the history of their B&B and the rest of our trip. He had some great tips and even offered to go and check the weather for us! Before we left Des and Susan gave us a beautiful handwritten card (they learned that this was our honeymoon while we were talking)... what a great surprise!! This was a great experience and we feel like this couple truly enjoys running their B&B!!! read more
