*This review is for Mira Mesa in general*…read more 1980s-1990s - This place was the sh!t!! In a good way. I have fond memories growing up here. The parks, malls, eateries, movie theatres, neighborhoods, and schools were great places that I can recall. Before COVID, before Manila Mesa, before traffic congestion, before social media, and before overpopulation, Mira Mesa was a great place to grow up in. Hey, I think I turned out alright. I moved out of there early 2000's and I'm glad I did. It just isn't the same anymore. I miss my old stomping grounds that are sadly no longer there or have been renovated or under new ownership. Neighborhoods don't seem so safe anymore. There's an increase in crime and accidents. This year of 2020 hasn't made it easier either. I hate you Covid! I'll always remember the good times where I could play with the neighborhood kids outside, walk to the park, movie theatre, arcade store, or convenience store without a worry in the world. I was fortunate to enjoy my childhood innocence and not be so cautious of people or mass media. No distractions and just enjoyed being a kid. This review is split: 5 stars from 1980s-1990s. 2000s-present gets a sad 1 star. Overall, 3 stars ! Thanks for the unforgettable memories Mira Mesa aka Manila Mesa now. I do come here on a regular to get certain things that I can't find elsewhere. What can I say? It's a love and hate relationship these days.

I hate Mira Mesa Blvd simply because the traffic, potholes and the crazy ass drivers who don't…read moresignal or make turns without any indication to others that they're making the move lol. Though I like that everything in terms of food is available along this strip. With large companies such as Qualcomm here this place does get super busy during prime hours. I suggest avoiding it at all costs unless you come super early or really late.

What can I say about my hometown?! Though growing up here makes you crave the big city, since you…read moregrow weary of the sleepy suburbs, one cannot deny the peacefulness and convenience of RB. Main takeaways: -PUSD is an excellent public school district. -RB is a very safe community, patrolled by the San Diego Police Department. There is little crime, and fewer violent crimes. -There are a plethora of businesses. You can find just about anything in RB. They host several supermarkets, there are many bank branches, a public library, and a USPS branch, etc. Cons: -It's still a sleepy town - most everything closes early. -Nightlife is almost non-existent. Things are better now that Urge Gastropub and The Barrel Room are around (also check out their sister store, Brothers Provisions). -There are A TON of stodgy, old, well-to-do conservatives. They mostly drive 35mph on all public streets, and many commit the biggest pet peeve of mine: failing to effectively use the turn signal. All in all, its a fine neighborhood to start a family. It's a fine neighborhood to retire. It's boring as can be if you're 21-35.

RB does have a more lively side! The Gastro Pub, The Barrel Room, good restaraunts. If you count…read morein 4s there is Capri Blue and Miguels. There is definately things going on that are fun.
