I had been transported with a medical transport company based out Santa Maria/Lompoc that comes no where near the quality of equipment, professionalism or passenger care Amdal provides. My transport team was Roger and Yohualli, true pros, friendly profession and full COVID precautions. The van Evan has a UV germ light to use between patients. Fantastic.

This was no easy feat because of the many challenges my mom has been experiencing, including the loss of her mobility. But from the moment Timothy picked up my mom from her hospital room; used the hydraulic lift to get her into the transport vehicle; made sure she was safely secured for the trip; made the long drive down; carefully lowered her back out of the vehicle; wheeled her inside; to when he finally gently placed her in her bed at the new facility, he treated her with the utmost care, compassion, patience and respect. The day was an emotionally charged one for so many reasons, but Timothy's empathetic care and professionalism helped to make this transition so much easier for both my mom and me, for which I am very grateful.

As my parents live 40 minutes from town, it is harder to meet our requests. Erin and Jennifer work tirelessly to find qualified people. The caregivers they have provided have been kind, caring, respectful, hardworking people. The caregivers help with anything my mother requests (laundry, cleaning, cooking, errands) as well as providing all the transportation for both of my parents to all their appointments. The service they provide is the reason my parents can remain living in their own home and allows my siblings and me to go on with our lives. This has been a gift to all of us.

We all met with Lisa who was most personable and spent time getting to know me, and assured me she would pair me with someone compatible. That she did! Brenda is amazing....and it turns out we have a lot in common! She is willing to do any tasks that help me with keeping up my household....laundry and routine cleaning. She helps me with my shower and washing my hair. Brenda comes for every visit with a cheerful and positive demeanor. When you live alone and can't get out for your regular social contacts, I have learned how special it is to have someone present to talk with each day. Brenda and I have many common interests, and the best part of my day with her is our time together just talking. Recently, we contacted and paid this organization to transport a severely ill (dying) veteran from San Diego to Northern California to his home for his final days. The patient required medical personnel along for the ride and had intensive needs. I paid 3700.00 for this. All of this was clearly communicated by email from the nurse at the care facility where the patient was being transported from. This company sent a van with a gurney and a guy with a CPR card... Obviously, this did not meet our needs and no services were rendered. To this day, no refund or offer of refund has been made or received despite zero services being rendered. You are honestly just as well off using an Uber. I do have a dispute case in through the credit card company. We'll see.

So when we fly fixed wing for medical transport we have to get ourselves and about $300,000 in medical gear from whatever airport we land at to the referring hospital and as such we are at the mercy of whatever ambulance company is int he area. Lucky for us San Luis Ambulance Unit 80 answered out call. Let me run things down: The rig was spotless They knew exactly what they are doing and had the gurney ready for our sled They drove in a safe and responsible manner They knew where to go (getting lost can be a thing) They assisted when we were on scene They proactively handled our bags and helped get our stuff set up without being asked.
