They say it's because of vandals and liability. Are vandals going to swim across the lake with alligators in it? Liability... really... if that were so, a fence would need to be erected all around the lake, not just our side... being good neighbors, we've maintained their area which is hard to get to for many years.. Several of us met with the golf course manager whose attitude is "too bad." We asked to meet and/or contact the members ( many who live up north) to explain our point of view and were ignored. Many of them did not want this fence and landscaping. Apparently they were ignored too. What a waste of their money!! This is being done simply for spite!!! They are terrible!!!

One of the very few that you have a choice of walking or taking a cart or even have a fore caddie. The greens and fairways newly rebuilt Just three or so years ago. It is now mature and very playable. . The Women's association is comprised of some sixty or more players. It is also one of the most active women's association in the Ft Myers area. Each Tuesday the ladies league has an organized event. Other events are held through the year. The highlight of the year is the Patty Berg invitational where Amateurs and Professional players team up. Both men and women compete for prizes This is held the last Monday in January. In my opinion: This golf club is considered by most to be the "players course" of Ft Myers.

It was noticeably quieter, the pool felt cleaner, and there was much less hustle and bustle. The room itself was comfortable and met my expectations. The beds were comfortable, the pillows were just right, and the view was enjoyable. One word of caution: the shower can get pretty slippery, so be careful. The resort offers a complimentary welcome drink, but I wouldn't really call it complimentary since there's a mandatory $35 daily resort fee that covers various amenities, many of which you may not even use. I also don't drink alcohol, so it wasn't much of a perk for me. I did take advantage of the 24-hour fitness center and was pleasantly surprised. There was a good variety of equipment, the treadmills worked well, and they provided complimentary towels, water, and even apples. My only criticism is that the gym could use a more thorough cleaning. One thing to know before booking is that this resort doesn't have a beach. That wasn't a dealbreaker for me because the pool was very nice. My mother and I drove to Sanibel Beach, which was only about 10-15 minutes away. However, parking was difficult to find, it costs $5 per hour, and the mosquitoes were relentless. Unless you're set on visiting the island, I'd recommend relaxing at the resort instead. The elevators worked well, and every staff member I interacted with was friendly and professional. Overall, there wasn't anything particularly spectacular about this resort, but it provided a relaxing and enjoyable Fourth of July getaway for my family. I would recommend it to others. Personally, I probably wouldn't stay here again, although I wouldn't hesitate if it were my only option.

There was no obvious parking, but the valets at the entrance told us parking was free for a slight tip (lol). We had a leisurely lunch outside on the balcony overlooking the swimming pool. Courtside Steakhouse had a varied menu. Everything we tried was just okay, not super outstanding, or memorable, but a nice stop from traffic.

Entry is only with a resident member. The Tiki Bar was a real highlight. The drinks, food and service were excellent. The special cocktail "Catalina Margarita" ($6.50) was super yummy along with the Island Grilled Chicken Sandwich. My friends enjoyed their meals too! The vibe at the Tiki Bar was cool with island music in the background. Overall, I enjoyed the Tiki Bar much better than many of the restaurants in the area.

They even had a Super Bowl Party! We were briefly relieved when the tiki bar was closed for two days and the pool and hot tub were miraculously uncrowded. We later learned it was closed because staff had COVID! We were never informed; we learned about it after they reopened and we asked the staff about it. As far as I know, there was no contact tracing! The grounds are lovely and well maintained. While we were here the roofs were replaced. We weren't advised that construction would be going on. The place is very well maintained. There is always some work being performed, from landscaping to painting. It appears there are no rules on the hours or days that work can be performed, starting before 7am and ending in the evening everyday. We had a cement mixer by our window for several days! Once the roofer blocked every entrance to our unit for safety reasons. Luckily, there were no interior renovations during our stay. All of the units can be accessed without the need of an elevator or enclosed hallway. Some of the buildings come with access to satellite pools. There are also homes here with their own pools. The "high-rise" units are much larger than the three-story condo units. The staff wear masks. None of the residents using the tiki bar or pools seem to care about keeping their distance or wearing masks! I was at the pool safely distanced on a chaise and someone moved in right next to me. He nearly hit me in the head when he moved the chaise closer, didn't say excuse me, didn't wear a mask - you get the idea. Note: No one ever bothered us about wearing a mask. When walking around the community, people seeing us in masks mostly gave us extra space. We never used the golf course. The tennis courts are lovely. There are 12 and you must make an appointment to use them. It's very easy to keep your distance from others there too. The Tiki Bar has a popular happy hour. Both the Tiki Bar and Clubhouse deliver. You don't need to carry cash or credit cards, just your member number. The paved walkways around both lakes add up to about about 1.5 miles. The lakes are loaded with fish and turtles. On walks we've also alligators and numerous birds including herons, ospreys, egrets, woodpeckers, and more.
