They were extremely knowledgeable, not only sharing facts about each type of animal, but also telling us about the individual animals themselves - their personalities, stories, and little quirks. We were lucky enough to feed so many animals, including monkeys, lemurs, hyenas, a rhino, and tortoises. We even got to interact with some of them, including a baby gibbon, sea otters, monkeys, and kangaroos. This was an experience I'll never forget, and I'm extremely grateful to the zoo and the team for making it such a special day. If you're coming to Broken Bow / Hochatown / Oklahoma - or honestly, anywhere within reasonable distance of planet Earth - you need to visit Beavers Bend Safari Park at least once.

We tried coffee while visiting which was a lovely addition, but relatively unremarkable. Granted, it's a safari park! The walk through small animal exhibit has come a long was since I visited years ago. The entire area is well maintained and the animals seem happy and healthy! One of the hyenas we're limping though and we let management know so hopefully they were able to follow up. The otter experience was really disappointing. It's $40pp, 2 person minimum... so $80. We had twenty minutes to hang out with the two otters on the property, but our time was shared with another couple. The otters were really tired and we were told they had done four meets already, and they had several in line next. By the end of our experience, they were both asleep under the bench. The guide said they usually have a system, but she wasn't sure what happened to it. It seemed like they were getting a bit money hungry and forcing as many experiences as they can which sucks for both the guest and the animals. It really cheapens the very experience outing. I hope the owners are able to put some attention to the matter. They had other animals/experiences we would've chosen had we known the situation. I also thought we would be learning about the otters and we were just seated in the enclosure to play with them with every little interaction or communication from staff. If you pay for a premium experience, you would expect one. The drive through was really well thought out and enjoyable. I love that the animals seemed well cared for and respected! We would definitely come back, but likely wouldn't invest in the more expensive experiences.

The complimentary water stations throughout the course were a nice and much-needed touch. Be sure to wear tennis shoes, as some areas were muddy, and expect to break a sweat. A hat or sunglasses would be helpful, especially on a sunny day. The restroom there is a portable toilet outside. One thing we really enjoyed was the flexibility to go at our own pace, or even split up and make it a friendly competition within our group. Every staff member we interacted with was extremely friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better.

It's pricy (4-12yrs $15 | 13+ $20) but if you are only going to do one or two things in town, this is a good one. It took our family of five about an hour and we had a blast. We split up at times, worked together at others and at one point had someone in the middle trying to direct the rest to the exit. We laughed a lot and had enjoyed ourselves. We considered doing the mini golf afterwards but found it was just as expensive at the maze so we skipped it. The employee at the front desk was kind, answered our questions and even offered to take a photo of all of us outside in front of the sign. The employees inside the maze were there if you needed them, but didn't interact with us at all otherwise. There were ice cold water stations throughout the maze, which was nice and there are a fair bit of stairs, so wear comfy shoes!

Many of the "exhibits" barely deserve the title (resembling something closer to simple children's play areas), and roughly half of those that do appear to be out of commission. Furthermore, the entire building suffers from a sense of decay that feels like it's a couple cigarette burns in the carpet shy of becoming a crack house. That said, there are two specific offerings that save this review from single-star oblivion. First is the Tesla Coil show, which makes up for what it lacks in presentation (the video before the show is almost unbearable) with an admittedly cool display set to music. This comes at no extra cost, which is a nice change from other museums where shows like this typically require an additional ticket purchase. The second shining attribute is the mural work on the main wall, which displays a terrific woodland scene and clearly required a great deal of time and effort from a talented artist. If you believe those two experiences are worth the $5/person cost of entry, by all means, visit this museum. But if you are expecting anything - literally anything - else, you are going to leave disappointed.

Some things looked like they could really use a deep clean/update. We were the only people in the place (other than the staff member and her kids). For $5 I feel like it was better than having my kids in a hotel room all day, but it just wasn't what I was expecting. The only cool thing about the place was the Tesla show (which I had to go tell a staff member it was 11:30 which was the time the door said they did the show) and cool mural on the wall.

The price was really good compared to other similar quanities. This is a fun spot to stop and look around. They are pet-friendly. I was able to bring my pup in the giftshop. The experience includes a small museum, preserved burial grounds, and an area where visitors can search for arrowheads. We spent over an hour there simply walking leisurely, reading plaques, exploring the grounds, and taking everything in. I actually enjoyed going through the museum twice -- once before touring the grounds and then again afterward because seeing the burial areas and artifacts in person gave much better context to what we were viewing inside. One detail that really stood out to me was the intricate beadwork on a pair of Indian baby shoes displayed in the museum. The craftsmanship and patience behind something like that was incredible to think about. The grounds were well maintained, peaceful, and you could tell they're continuing to improve and add additional features over time. Admission for our family of 5 was around $50 total. While that's not outrageous by today's standards for museums and historical attractions, it did feel a little high relative to the size and simplicity of the site itself. I'm glad we experienced it once and I do believe in supporting local historical sites and preservation efforts. If you enjoy history, archaeology, or quieter educational stops while traveling through the area, it's worth experiencing at least once.
