Such a fun little spot close to the Sand dunes and such a gem in the valley for locals and tourists alike. This spot has plenty of parking, camping and lots to offer. The pool/hot springs are split into 2 primary areas. One big area that is meant for all with a kids pool, large hot springs pool with diving boards for all to have fun, a snack bar with lots of goodies (but you can bring your own food in too if you want, which is great for families on a budget), a grassy picnic area, basketball court, and a small toddler friendly slide area as well. You can also rent cabanas. The other area is for 21+ in the greenhouse. It's fully separated from the family area and is an adult atmosphere. There is a bar, snack bar with a limited menu, dense lush greenery, and numerous hot pools of varying temps. There is also a sauna for sweating it out. We spend a lot of time here relaxing and enjoying the pool and cocktails. This is a great place to spend the day or evening. This is not a high end spa but a mid-tier budget friendly option that is well worth it. My only criticism is that the locker rooms could use some updating, but I'll still take it! read more

This is a oasis/spa in the middle of the Colorado plains and just on the outskirts of Great Sand Dunes National Park. Definitely recommend this resort as at least a two (2) night base camp for your ultimate planned NP excursion. Arrive/check-in then rent your Sand Boards for your next day use at the NP (and arrive early at the NP before the sand gets too hot!). After your Sand Dunes park play, return to this resort to unwind and relax in a natural, therapeutic spa fashion. Be aware: There is good, tasty food on-site (breakast, lunch and dinner) and the selection is varied but not elegant! And, there is no other food locations in the area. BYOB and mixers - you can buy ice upon arrival. Finally, get to the Adult Greenhouse before 11am to secure a lounge chair as there is not many. Kudos to all the facility and concession personnel, most of whom live nearby, that do their utmost to ensure that your stay is memorable. read more

Had a three night stay with our RV. Sites are dirt with gravel, level however very close together. Laundry room was good. If you wanted to shower there was an extra charge unless you used showers in pool area which were nice. You have to pay to get into pool. Next day we went to the swimming pool. One charge to get into outside pool and another charge if you wanted greenhouse/adult only area with hot springs pool and hot tubs. Spent the day there. Lounge chairs hard to come by. We waited for another couple to leave and we grabbed one. They do have table and chairs to hang out on and food and alcohol drinks. Very relaxing atmosphere out in the middle of fields. They also serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was pretty decent. The outdoor pool area was huge. Was not covered but the kids pool had coverage. We were in need of a local hot springs to visit and we came across this location, it may not be a natural hot springs but it was more then getting the job done. There are two separate parts of the hot springs one being a 21+ and the other being for all ages, the water was very warm which was a big plus for us. There was a little bit of a fight between two family's about their kids arguing but the workers stepped in very quick and helped resolve it. The food was better than expected, don't think of it as a 5 star restaurant but it'll definitely get the job done. read more

It's a building with a bunch of community pools. Nothing like the hot pools built into a stream. People at the next table ordered ahi and it looked good so I ordered some. It was ok. I went over to see if my friends wanted some (they were in the pool at the time). They said no and I turned to go back to my table, a woman in a bathing suit came running towards me saying how it was her favorite thing on the menu and that she would love it. DONT GO! This place is a peitre dish. The tubs are not regulated. Too many people too low temps. Tissue and filth floating everywhere. This is the place where people who don't wash their feet go. Scary disgusting. On top of that add alcohol, food and kids in pull ups. Oh! And when you're finished. To wash off the filth there is only one shower, zero changing rooms! So you drag your clothes into a bathroom stall to change!! And now stand in the filth of a bathroom stall... appalling! Frightening. Health code violations for sure... Go Home and run a bath and make a drink. As I write this I am crossing my fingers that there will be no yeast infection forthcoming from just entering the flesh stew. AWFUL! read more

Such a hidden gem! Pack your swimsuit and go! This little resort has real hot spring that is continuously gushing out from underground into the designated pools. It offers a dozen or so pools of varying sizes, depths and temperatures indoor and outdoor to meet anyone's preference. You don't want to miss the huge outdoor swimming pool which has a huge spout with gushing hot spring water spitting out at 10ft above at 110 degrees. That is going to be a shower of a lifetime. You will not regret it. There are also wonderful food and drink options onsite. You can't eat in the pool but there are chairs tables and bar areas to do that. There are also camping sites and cabins to rent nearby for people who want to stay more than one day. read more

What a fun oasis! There's a main swimming pool but then they have the greenhouse for 21+! Both areas have food available but alcohol is only available in the greenhouse. Pro-tip you can reserve camping and RV spots there but you do have to check in at the main pool when you arrive! read more

What a beautiful and amazing hidden gem. We have friends who live in Colorado, and told us it was a must visit. All the employees were extremely nice and hospitable. One employee walked us around the pool and gave us a tour. We wound up spending the money to go back to the over 21 area. There were a ton of kids in the family area which was very kid friendly with fountains and shallow pools. We spent the afternoon in the back drinking wine, and soaking in the sauna and natural hot springs. Was so relaxing after a long day of hiking on the sand dunes. They are suppose to have amazing food in the back, but our schedule didn't allow for us to stay and dine. What an amazing little spot. We had such a good soak and shower. We felt so rejuvenated after our visit. Really wish I had taken more photos, but I was so concentrated on relaxing that I didn't even think about my phone. They do have lockers inside for anyone who wants to lock their valuables up. read more

The Greenhouse is my best kept secret in the Sand Dunes! The Greenhouse is the 21+ area in the Sand Dunes Swimming Pool. You HAVE to stop by if you're making a trip to the dunes. They serve wine and beer as well as gourmet small plates. I'm talking ahi tuna, flatbread pizza, shrimp, salads, charcuterie boards, all kinds of things! Drinks and food are reasonably priced as well! If the amazing food and drinks aren't enough to convince you to stop by, the Greenhouse also has a wide variety of plants and flowers that make the ambience so beautiful! The greenhouse has one main long pool and 3 small pools which vary in temperature. They also have a wooden sauna and a misting area if you get too hot. It's fully covered inside so you don't get to see the mountains while you soak, but it's still awesome! They are open during the day and night. I love this little oasis in the middle of nowhere. We have been many times, and the experience never disappoints. We love the laid-back vibe, the family and dog-friendliness of this place. It's a short drive to the amazing Great Sand Dunes National Park and an even shorter drive to the fun and kitschy Colorado Gators and Alien Outpost. Tent and trailer sites are basic, but you have half-price access to the wonderful pool and adult-only greenhouse. I love that this place does not gouge you for food and drink prices and the staff is so friendly and quick to address any issues you may have. I hate to tell people about this place, as it's getting harder to get a reservation, but it's too cool not to share. Enjoy! read more

The food is different from what is served outside, it's a small plates menu, think tapas, and everything was DELICIOUS. The chef was working away creating these perfect little dishes. We had the Sesame crusted ahi tuna, Blistered Shishito peppers, Gosar sausage & shrimp skewers, and a ceviche special they had that day (not in regular menu). We would order everything again! This review is mainly for the RV park- The pool area is really nice, The water is very warm like 90 degrees+ I was surprised about that but I got used to it and at night is was comfortable. Great area with grass and a little creek if you have dogs .The greenhouse was a little weird kind of dark and a lot of people making out in the tubs. Cleanliness was suspect stuff floating on top of tubs, slimy steps, a lot of people in a relatively small space. Now for the RV park- spaces are a bit small for all the land they have out here they could have made them wider. Get spots 1 or 10 if available. No sewer hookup. The worst part is all the mosquitos and flies possibly due to a drainage ditch pretty close to the sites. Not terrible but I wouldn't stay again. If the spots were larger and had sewer the pool may entice us back. read more

SO MY EXPERIENCE with the hopper pool is a bit different than others. As I've worked with the team personally. I've also been wrongfully terminated by the management. But I'd highly recommend not going there as the staff is not cleaning properly or washing their hands regularly and there kitchen is not up to code as they pay the inspectors to pass them. The owner do not address the problem with the management they are disgusting and rude. The owners are more concerned about money and their ego. Don't look up when in the green house if you don't like mold or nasty ness they do not care for health codes as they don't care if there staff smoke weed or anything and not wash there hands after the fact There as been sights of mice in the kitchen and they don't care about it. WASTE OF MONEY KEEP YOUR KIDS AND FAMILIES SAFE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. the other problem is I have years of experience with cooking industry and when I try to correct it I got fired. As the managers know everything and don't like the people who worked in better places in cooking industry. It's extremely disturbing that they are even still open when they have teenagers running around the kitchen with no health code skills and experience on how to properly prepare food. The bar girl yelled at us when we walked in - they were breathlessly in the weeds with maybe 10 people??!! She screamed at us to "check in" When a normal voice is all that is needed. The regulars were all complaining that the heat was extraordinary. All pools OVER 110' and the air temps were close to that. We had to stage a revolt to open doors. After sweating and being barked at by the pool girls - we hit the "hot only" shower which was gross and broken... In Alamosa for the day and we stopped here for dinner and an evening swim with the kids. The food was expensive and cafeteria .... I had to return my son's hamburger because it was cold. Not hot then cooled down, but the meat and bun felt like it had been in the fridge. My nachos were cold too. It cost us $70 to enter the swimming pool, which in my mind was a little expensive, and I wish they had a discount for families or getting there in the evening compared to the mornings, but that's OK....the kids had the best time swimming. Facilities were kept fairly clean. I saw a few employees during our stay picking up trash and cleaning the bathrooms. The pool itself was clean. You could rent goggles and floaties. The pool was very warm! It felt like bath water. There is also a therapeutic pool that is 105+ degrees. The kids also enjoyed the small slide area. read more

This was an awesome swimming spot near the Great Sand Dunes in Colorado! It's an awesome place to come cool down after hiking through the Great Sand dunes, especially since its only about 30 minutes from the Dunes (more or less). What I like about the spot is that there is the main pool area for kids, teens, parents, and then there is the adults only section in the back of the facility. Me and my friends went to the back, you have to be 21 years or older to get in, and its definitely more secluded and worth it. They have a full bar in the back that serves various beers and wines. They also have a full menu grill that serves a variety of hot and cold food items. The coolest thing is that they have multiple hot tubs spread throughout the adult section that all vary in temperature so if one is not hot enough, then you can go to another hot tub that is hotter. Aside from the pools, hot tubs and grill, this place is also an RV park! You can even rent out spots for tents if you feel like camping, just make sure to make reservations ahead of time since this place can fill up and get booked pretty quickly! read more

This place is awesome! The green house, swimming area, and campground facilities are very unique. The staff are also super friendly and prices are reasonable. WARNING: if you are camping beware of the camp space you choose. Ours flooded in 1 foot of water and we had to get a hotel for the night. The rain and hail was pretty unprecedented for the area, but it is like this area was meant to drain right into where our tents are. Seek higher ground and don't make the same mistake we did....or better yet get a cabin/RV and don't deal with it at all. read more

A couple locals told me that they don't come at night cause it's not uncommon to get hit on by drunk tourists. Alcohol + food + 110 degree water led to a guy puking in the hot tub I was in last night. They did not close it off. I had to let some people know, who were just getting in, that a guy had just barfed in it. So gross. Nice plants. Nice staff. Good food. You'll love it. read more

Just wow. We took a girls only motorcycle camping trip and tent camped for one night here, serenaded by the red-winged blackbirds and bullfrogs. (Remember to bring mosquito repellent!) We were so impressed at this hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. There's clearly lots of thought put into it. The staff and the visitors were all friendly and professional, with lots of local patrons. It was all clean and no one was drunk. There we approximately two million children in the main pool, but the adults-only greenhouse area was amazing, with great music, incredible botany, and super chill vibe. Thank goodness my hubby found this place for our trip home from Albuquerque. We LOVE hot springs and this place is AMAZING!!! First of all, it's super inexpensive at $7.50 for adults. That gets you into the main area where there are a few pools and lots of seating areas. They have a wonderful grill and cute little gift shop there. They also rent water toys of all kinds. This area is wonderful for kids. Another measly $3 gets you into the adult only Greenhouse. Make sure you do this because it's like walking into Fantasy Island. A nondescript door leads you down a corridor lined in blue tape lights. Another nondescript door leads you into a beautifully curated pavilion of tropical plants and several pools. It is all lit up at night for you to enjoy until about 9:45pm in the summer. The have a full bar there and and a small kitchen that serves an array of imaginative dishes. You can bring your drinks with you in the pools and even dry off in the sauna. We camped in the campground that has water and electric hookups and Rv and tent sites. Those come with 1/2 off discount for admission at the pools so you can come and go all day. The staff is very nice and helpful. We are already planning our next trip here but for longer. The Sand Dunes pool has been our go to spot for years. We have always enjoyed the upgrades they have made. The staff all around is super friendly. They have come a long way. We always stay in the tent sites. This was the first time we had a problem and was disappointed. We got stuck in the middle, fine we will get over it, but their were loud families on both sides with not enough room for privacy or quite, everyone heard everyone's conversations. Bummer. Then a group of rude Boy Scouts came crawling in after 10 PM. They had rented all the sites across the way. It was obnoxious to have all 8 cars, all struggling to park, all shining the lights directly into our faces for 30 minutes, while we were just trying relax and enjoy our fire. The pools are decent, the adult side is amazing but it is so over crowded with day users from Alamosa. This makes for an uncomfortable time. I understand there is no lifeguards but when you are getting kicked, bummed into, smacked in the head with pool toys and all the constant splashing, its a problem. Plus with so many kids fighting with each other... its not safe. We will give it one more go, but it might be the ending of our wonderful relationship. read more

We live in Denver and have been here and renting a little cabin 3 or 4 times. Rustic cabins include hot springs pool and Green House admission and we enjoyed both a lot. The pool had a great community feel with local families, and serves as the community pool. The green house is adult only with multiple pools and we enjoyed the food and atmosphere there. Last time we thought about coming (Feb 2020) I thought the rates had increased quite a bit and we didn't go. Then the pandemic. Just now I looked at the website and also Yelp reviews for info about covid19 precautions and saw nothing! There is still a pandemic and this matters to me and my family. I will add that I saw a review here that was very old complaining about the bathrooms at the pool. This is not accurate in my experience--as I recall there was a small private bathroom but also men and women bathrooms with maybe 4 toilets and 2 showers and a wall of sinks. The Green House also had added its own bathrooms the last time we were there. read more

This is a great facility. It's run by fairly responsible kids. I've never seen an adult employee here. The facility and changing rooms are clean and well maintained. The pool starts at a baby pool and goes all the way up to 10 feet with a diving board. I took away a star because the food is cooked to order and somehow always cold. It's a hot springs swimming pool and a 25 person hot tub with the most amazing vistas! It's kind of a novelty, and it's really just a pool but the fact that the water flows into the pool at a perfectly warm temperature (98 degrees; hot tub is elevated to 107) on its own is kind of awesome, and the view alone makes it a 5 star experience for me. It's very affordable for the entrance fee itself, even if they nickel and dime to death with the one time pay lockers (open once after having locked it, pay again) and showers and stuff like that. You are looking at incredible mountain ranges with snow on the very tops even on a mild 75 degree day in October. We did not plan to spend all day, but we did spend several hours, and plan to make it an all day affair next visit. They have a surprisingly good "cafe" (it ain't fancy) right next to the pool with lots of bench seating. There's a cabana you can rent for a couple hundred bucks for a group of people, plus they have a cool water slide for kids (only), and games on the lawn like volleyball, basketball and I think horseshoes, too. There are also several BBQ pits available. You can even "rent" suits/boxers for a dollar or two if you are unprepared and like to live dangerously. I will pass, thank you. It actually made me laugh looking at that treasure trove. Oh, you can also rent out (overnight) bungalows on the premises as well as rent a spot for your RV, if you own one. I did not expect to love this as much as I did, but I swear, it's all about a gorgeous view while relaxing by the pool. It doesn't get better than this. Yeah, it's a glorified pool. It doesn't have to be a fancy spa to make you feel like a million bucks and breathe in that fantastic crisp fresh air. P.S. By the spring they hope to have an adult slide and additional areas to rent out that will be BYOB, I believe, so keep your eyes open for that. read more
