Went in for a colonoscopy. Seemed very professional. No real waiting prior to procedure, so that was nice. Was comfortable with all consultations and pre-procedure discussions. The IV insertion, felt nothing and no bruising. Post procedure discussions was good. One polyp removed, felt nothing after. You'll need someone to take you home of course, normal. Had a torn meniscus surgery in December. The surgery and my recovery went very well. This is a small clinic, yet it's very clean, unique and very well maintained. The staff were wonderful, very informative and friendly. Their expertise exceeded my expectations. The doctors were very informative and very professional. So glad I had this done at this facility. request a different in network center from your surgeon's scheduler you have the right to pick another center and have the same procedure done and not deal with all these problems. I highly recommend you do that. read the reviews before you work with this location. They will overcharge you and do not care when you reach out. No review I have read has had results. When they connected me to the Blue Cross specific person to deal with it rings three times and goes to "This is a voicemail that has not been set up!" then hangs up on me and Blue Cross several times on Friday 3/18. I gave them $2600.00. Emptying the checking account my total out of pocket for the year They owe me $714. while injured without income I can not pay co-pay for my follow up's to get physical therapy now or with my surgeon and they do not care!!! 3/29 update: They admit they owe me and refuse to pay me the cash they wrongly demanded before they would admit me for treatment. they are holding my $715. until Blue Cross pays them for the surgery and the funds clear. Once agin no compassion even though this is wrong am filing a small claim for treble damages in Orange County court. they will be required to pay for my transportation in a wheelchair and all fees with the court. My eye doctor, Dr. Keshini Parbhu, scheduled my surgery at SandLake Surgery Center for May 23rd, 2024. When I looked up the facility online I was concerned because of the rating on Yelp. But upon further review I realized that most of the low ratings were due to issues with the billing department. However I had no issues with any aspect of the facility. My actual experience was fantastic! The surgical suite was top notch. My "care team" was exceptional. Everyone was very competent and caring. I would like to mention my team by name as they all deserve to be recognized. They are Skye, Ari, Dr. Griffin, Chaz, Alex, Corrine and Vanessa. Thank you all for the care and compassion that you showed me! If I could make one suggestion to improve the experience for the people waiting for you, it would be to add a beverage center to the waiting room. Right now those people have to go outside the building and down the street to get a coffee or other beverage. read more

I have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow, but no idea what time. . I called yesterday for the time, but was told they will call me with it. They have ridiculous rules on rides....No uber or taxi, but they expect me to find someone and have them change their work schedule for a ride on less than 24 hour notice. I'm only having neck shots too. They don't require being put to sleep and there is no reason I need a ride. So, I am really stressed. I wont be able to get a ride on 24 hr notice for something that does not need a ride, and I have already spent the time and money for the appt. to get this procedure. So, I dont think I can make it and this wont please my Dr., plus I will have to make another appt so i can go to another facility. read more

The nursing manager Serena is extremely disrespectful. She has no respect for HIPAA. She encourages to cut corners and they put a special way to tell per patients on the back to see what patient said something about them on the card they send out which is a violation of a patients right to freely speak about their care without it being traced back to them. The OR team is an absolute mess and I wouldn't trust them to do another procedure on me even if I was dying right there and then. read more

This place has taken care of me 3 times. Each time they respond to my calls, on time with my appointments, there's never a wait and they are always clean. The staff is always quick to help me with anything I need. They Address any and all concerns with compassion and they always call the next day to see how I'm doing! I had an issue with my dr. He called the night before surgery saying he lost my MRI and said he would do my knee surgery anyways well I couldn't sleep thinking he didn't have all he needed for the surgery.. so I showed up the next morning not wanting it as they wouldn't let me speak to the dr before surgery.. I shared my concerns with the nurse she called the dr.. my dr dropped me because of what as told to him.. they had told him I had no faith in him as a dr.. but it was simply the situation of not knowing he had what he needed.. I wanted him to have all the tools he needed.. I was uncomfortable that he didn't.. I waited a year for this surgery thanks surgery center for getting between me and my dr! And ruining my care! No it will probably take another year to find a dr and get care from them! I will use another surgery center as I see they have many issues! Now I can't even get ahold of them! This is costing my thousands extra as I was only going to get coverage for the surgery! And my coverage is for that dr! read more

If you have to have an outpatient procedure done, this is a nice place to do it. Conveniently located in the Sand Lake Medical complex next to the hospital, they are efficient, friendly and helpful. Chairs in the waiting room are not the comfiest, but the person that is waiting for you can browse the web with complimentary wi-fi. Just ask the receptionist at the desk and she'll cheerfully give you the password. The scheduling staff is great and I was impressed with their follow-up and follow-through. read more

Today was the day of my surgery, I expected to pay $527 (up front, no payment plan) for my procedure and that was it. I also expected a pleasant warm and gentle attitude from the staff especially the young lady at the front desk. After quickly highlighting the pages I was suppose to sign, tossing my paper id tags that go around my wrist, she became very agitated at me when I grab one to put on my wrist "I will put it on you, ma'am!," and after noticing I took the sticker off of one she rolled her eyes and seemed to be getting even more tense with me, after she went back to highlighting and got to the last page, I questioned her about the quickly read over financial obligation she mentioned which states "bill for anesthetics." So I asked, "who gets billed?" and she replied with a sassy and stern "YOU." Mind you, I am from Chicago, IL, so I'm not too familiar with Florida's Healthcare System, and this was highly unusual. I have called this office several times in the past month, this isn't my first go around with this office, this is in fact my second appointment. My first was rescheduled because they called me the Monday of the surgery I was suppose to have that same Friday to tell me I had to pay $527. A week's notice? Really! I have never experienced anything like that/this. I also got word from Dr. Lopez's office at Orlando Health that this was a separate facility with different billing process and system which is I feel the cause of the confusion, mind you, I have already prepaid for both my Pre-Op/Post-Op appts. So this really wasn't a financial issue, its principle. So considering this, I was overly prepared, I asked plenty of questions, I got plenty of the letters in the mail, I even called them this week, asking if there is any additional fees, anything extra and yet, I am writing this message because there was, and not only that there was a lot of attitude with it. I was very angry at this point and very stressed cause in addition to all of this, no one in an office should try and manage a situation they too are not prepared to handle. Do not hail me off in some room, and still do not have answers. Do not be condescending to me in the room trying to calm me down when you have poured oil on the fire, no one in the office knew what the additional costs would be and stating it's "third party" does not help anyone." No one had anything to say but calm down, I am not going to be calm when you are constanting trying me, and remember this...just because you have never seen or had an issue doesn't mean there isn't any. I have been to many Dr.'s offices, and Surgery Centers, and your service is appealing, you had one girl on staff to manage your front desk and she was crying because she couldn't handle her position and take what she dished out. I came for surgery I left with an attitude with you for your unprofessional, lack of knowledge, and interest in resolving the matter. You need to work different terms of your process so that billing doesn't affect your business and your staff's attitude doesn't affect your rating. read more

Went two weeks ago for arthroscopic surgery to repair torn meniscus. Prior to the surgery they called me twice to go over my preparation responsibilities. They answered all my questions and told me to call back if any issues or concerns came up. I do wish that the waiting room was a little more like a living room - that's my only criticism. All the staff seemed to know exactly what they were doing and kept me well informed. I was comfortable at all times and they kept me relaxed. They called me afterwards for appropriate follow up. Went here today to have an endoscopy and colonoscopy I was very nervous but everyone there was beyond nice and caring. My nurse Heather was very efficient and caring of my needs. Dr Ahmed was very concerned about my wellbeing as well he is a wonderful doctor and well respected at the center. Just wanted to say that I was very pleased with all of the staff at the Sand Lake Surgery Center who oversaw my procedure on 9/10. Bell, who handled the front desk and checked me in was very kind and considerate. I was very nervous and appreciated the sensitivity and understanding throughout my visit.
