    The Village Pre-School

    The Village Pre-School

Our son has attended The Village Pre-school & Daycare in Bethel since he was three months old. He…read moreis now almost five, and will be graduating later this summer. A good childcare provider can be defined as a safe, clean facility with plenty of learning opportunities to help your child grow and thrive. Village certainly fulfills those prerequisites. A great childcare provider does so much more--keeps your child engaged, curious, and joyful due to an amazing staff. Village also succeeds there. There has not been a single day in nearly five years that our son hasn't celebrated the fact that he's on his way to school. He literally leaps out of the car each morning and runs to the front door. The teacher turnover is extremely low, and most of his key educators from infancy to preschool remain an essential part of his daily life. We trust them implicitly to keep him safe and happy. They provide the children so many daily opportunities--from being outside on their playground (twice a day in the warmer months), to a weekly show and tell to gain confidence, silly dance parties, sensory play, ice cream truck treats in the summer, and plenty of educational crafts that extend the learning process. What other pre-school has a "bird condo" at the window where the children can keep a daily eye on visitors who fly in and out for a snack, as well as being able to witness such things as baby chicks hatching in real time? Ms. Faye in the preschool room has been a godsend, prepping our little guy for the next chapter in kindergarten and being an amazing partner to us parents as we raise him. He just had his school assessment last week and is fully prepared for the next step, in large part due to our Village family. The staff there truly cares about our little ones, and are just as excited to see them as the kids are when they arrive each day. The center itself is clean, full of necessary sensory stimulation, and super convenient with regards to its downtown Bethel location and their operational hours. They utilize a really great app to keep you updated on everything that happens during the course of the day, from bathroom/diaper usage to meals/snacks, activities, and of course, frequent photos of your child. The old adage is true, It truly DOES take a Village, and we couldn't be more enthusiastic to recommend them to other families.

I am not a person who typically writes review unless I am extremely happy or disappointed with a…read moreservice or business that I have visited. After reading the review left on Yelp regarding this school, I felt it necessary to write a truthful statement about them. My daughter started attending AaBbCc Early Learning Center in September of 2017. When she first started here she didn't know nearly enough in my opinion. The previous preschool that she was in did nothing to help her learn and we happen to hear about this school from a friend in the area, and boy are we happy we did. In just one quick month my daughter not only knew the alphabet but she was able to recognize them and was able to write her entire name! I was blown away. The owners of the school are not only involved, but 100% interested in every student to ensure that the school is running properly. The school is impeccably cleaned at all times. When I came in to register my daughter we would only get to the school at 7 pm and there was a professional cleaning crew which is there every evening to clean the entire school. When I say all surfaces are wiped and disinfected, I literally mean every surface from the door to the walls to the light switches and things you wouldn't even think to clean. I was left with no words when I saw that. There is certainly NO smell when you come in. I cannot believe that someone would make such insane accusations about this school. To see how much this school has done for us, here is what happened today. When we went for her prescreening for kindergarten, the lady interviewing her was blown away by my daughter. She said that has not seen many children as articulate as my daughter and to know so many things like she did. She knew all of her numbers and colors in both English and Spanish, as well as shapes. She knows about 75 sight words and can do basic addition and subtraction. The lady ensured me that was more than ready and that wherever she attended preschool did a phenomenal job with her. I thought that was impressive as she sees at least 6 to 8 kids per day all summer long. Please do yourself a favor, go and see the school and decide which review is more accurate. I have no reason to write all of this, other than the simple fact that merit is deserved here. You will be impressed with the order and cleanliness of the school and you will be more impressed at how much your children will be learning and how sad they will be when they finish here or have to miss a day of school. My child woke up every morning excited to go to school, and that was a blessing because she would cry at our previous location every morning and would have breakdowns when I left her there. Don't allow one person to sway your opinion, you and most importantly, your child will be missing out.

They truly love the kids and treat each one as if they were their own. We had Ms. Christine when we started and she is a gem. The director Amanda is personable and kind. She responds promptly and answers all my/our ridiculous questions. We looked at several daycares before selecting Kindercare (there is even one that is down the road from us) and they seemed overly cartoony or sterile like an empty high school. Kindercare has a homey feel to it. You can here the kids laughing, talking like it should be. They get to spent time outside everyday sometimes 2x a day depending on the weather. It can be a little pricey (but that's childcare). They feed them breakfast, lunch and a snack and their hours are amazing 6:30am-6pm which helps when you work weird hours. Our son's current teachers are amazing as well special shout-out to Ms. Robin, Ms. Grace, Ms. Erika and Ms. Avery. They have a blast and have creative ways to engage the kids. One huge thing that stands out to me is that the staff all knows our son. Even teachers who have never had him but they all say good morning and good bye to him. They don't have to do that but it's that extra special touch that makes the difference. Thank you everyone! We appreciate you and all that you do!!

With summer ending, I wanted to write my experience with Hudson Country Montessori School…read more As a mom of a 3 and 2 year old, who went through the pandemic and had trust issues with daycares or "strangers" caring for my kids, I can't thank HCMS enough for the amount of peace and reassurance they've given me. Everyone there is just absolutely lovely and such beautiful people. They have shown my children so much love and care. My daughter is a Velcro baby, meaning she's a literal baby koala. I can't thank Alexa, Rose, and Renee, in the infant room, enough for holding her when she wanted to be held, as long as she wanted. She then moved up to the waddler room, with new teachers, but they are as amazing as the infant room teachers. Sara, Susan, Chelsea, and Rebecca are literal angels. I just can't thank them enough for everything they've done for my daughter and us. They took such great care of her this past year. My son started in the toddler 2 room with Ms Mimi, Graciela, and Kristie. We absolutely love them! They're all such sweethearts! Ms Mimi is so good with the kids! She knows exactly how to take control of her class, which are all toddlers! Touché to her! Ms Mimi is also so loving and caring. I really couldn't have asked for a better school for my children. They've learned so much while being there and they've made such amazing friends and connections. I also love their security! It's gated, and you need a special passcode to enter the school. Although my children have only had the teachers listed above, everyone in that building is so friendly and welcoming. Ms Carmela is in charge of the toddler program, and she is just so amazing. She takes her time to meet families and hears any concerns you may have. If HCMS was on your list of schools to check out, go with it! You won't regret ever enrolling your kids there. It's a real Montessori school, filled with loving, hardworking, respectful teachers. You'll really see your children bloom into such smart, independent, loving, little people.

The kids are happy to go to school, they have developed strong relationships with their teachers, peers and administrative staff. My three year old comes home teaching us new songs (affirmation song, months of the year, days of the week, etc). The staff is attentive to the kiddos needs and go ABOVE AND BEYOND with their thematic weekly units with developmentally appropriate activities (sensory bin, open-ended play, show and tell, keepsake worthy arts and crafts). These are memorable learning experiences that will set the foundation for their educational career. Oh and did I mention they get to play outside because there is an outdoor space? The staff is always looking for ways to create positive learning experiences for the kids (i.e firetruck came to the center, farm animals, Halloween parade, etc.) They are also VERY receptive to feedback. We are so grateful for Children's Academy. The sheets, laundry on site, keeping frozen bottles and communal bibs made things sooooo much easier for this full time working mom of 3.
