On May 28, 2013 my agent wrote me: "I also had a long conversation with Mary Jo and the (name of sellers deleted) concerning the 9th Street deal. She assured me that if you withdrew your post on Yelp she would sign the cancellation instructions. " My response back on May 28, 2013: "In regards to Mary Jo Brummer, I stand by my post and will not be blackmailed. Everything I wrote was true. If she signs off on the funds then I will update my post to reflect that she released them. I've worked hard to establish a respected presence on Yelp since 2009 and do not use it to leverage my position. " One could say this review cost me $1,000 because I wasn't willing to compromise my ethics. Please pay particular attention to the 5 star reviews she's received since my negative review. Look at how long the people who have been writing 5 star reviews for Mary Jo have had a presence on yelp since I pointed out Mary Jo's lack of ethics in real estate. She even had her title company write a bad review about me. LOL! They don't even know me. I've written many reviews and have been offered free meals and services to make up for dissatisfactions but I've always refused because I wasn't writing reviews to get free meals or credits, I was utilizing Yelp as it was meant to be used. I was also writing to help the businesses, like the Fish Market, get back to their previous level of excellence. They did and I'm so happy about that because I love that restaurant chain. Mary Jo Brummer will probably continue to ask people in her circle to write positive reviews about her to refute my negative review. I'm done with this and am moving on. Oh and I never got my earnest money back. I just ask you to be extremely cautious when you decide upon a real estate agent. And if anyone is interested in a property on 9th St. in Carson City let me know because I will gladly share with you the inspection reports which also cost me a lot of money.

He never pressured us, wasn't constantly calling or bothering us, and didn't rush us into signing paperwork. At times he was so relaxed about everything that I wasn't even sure how badly he wanted us as clients! When we first met, though, Jack came very prepared and gave us a great presentation and booklet explaining the process. When it came time to list our house, the listing and photography were done very well. Our biggest challenge was that the market simply wasn't producing many showings. I'm pretty proactive, so I decided I wanted to get aggressive with the price rather than sit around waiting. Jack was completely supportive of that strategy and, more importantly, was willing to be flexible and work with us to make sure we retained as much of our equity as possible. That's ultimately where I really appreciated Jack's style. He didn't fight us for control of the process or try to convince us that he knew better just because he was the agent. He listened to what we wanted, gave us room to make decisions, and supported us when we wanted to move aggressively. Looking back, what initially felt a little hands-off actually had some significant advantages. Jack wasn't pushy, didn't make the process about himself, and was willing to adapt to how we wanted to sell our home. If you're someone who wants an agent who gives you space, listens to you, and is flexible when circumstances change, Jack is a great person to work with. Five stars from us.
