I had minutes to spare to secure another available vendor to arrive at an anniversary event boat cruise in time to board and prepare for the event. I bided the job out to several vendors and decided to go with Exquisite Imaging to support my local area. Although $100 over my originally contracted price, it was worth it due to the limited timeframe. I also had to include the photographer as an event guest, so I paid the extra $170 for him to board the ship. He definitely had great energy and fit in well with my guest. Sincerely grateful for the great presence. My only gripe, and it is a very big one for me, is that while in the process of waiting for the link to my event photos, he shared my link with my guest (most unpaid by the way), they were sponsored and their tickets paid for as well (FREE for THEM), just like his. That was not cool at all, and not his call. He only had one customer, that's me the PAYEE! My goal, as mentioned to the photographer, was to build the event book with the digital photos that I paid him to take. Mind you, he shared them without consent. He mentioned that he wanted to make the customers and guest happy. Wait what? There is only one customer that shelled out almost $600 ($400 for the photography job; and $170 for his premium dinner cruise ticket on the Spirit of Washington), a two-hour event to celebrate my parents 60th Wedding Anniversary. His obligation was to honor my request. Not go all out and give out my paid for products to others for free. I had not had the opportunity to even review for appropriateness or decide which items I was going to include. Very bad business. "People don't care how much you know, until they know you care." The main request my mother and father had for their anniversary was the photo book. I was livid to say the least. My contract was one-on-one with the photographer...One customer. The pictures were great, but my business experience with him just washed out all of the good from our very short union. I could legally make him accountable for his actions but am choosing not to go that route for the good that was there for a split second. The experience ruined his entire purpose for being there. While we had a team of amazing vendors for our wedding, Steve and Jane are by far THE BEST CHOICE my husband and I made. We found them through a local wedding expo; by that time, we already had an excellent photographer in mind, but then we saw their pieces at the expo and could not get their artwork out of our heads. Steve and Jane are a wonderful couple who work seamlessly together. They're friendly, funny, professional, and just so easy to work with. We also LOVED their style of photography, especially how they use light to enhance their work. They are also extremely responsive, flexible, personable, and handled the crazy wedding schedule (especially the chaotic family portrait) calmly with zen. I think I would've broken down many, many times during the wedding day if it wasn't for them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND them for anyone who's looking for photographers who can take unique, timeless wedding photos. As a side note, Steve and Jane just opened their studio in Waldorf, Maryland. I planned my wedding in less than three months (call me crazy-I wanted a summer wedding and didn't want to wait an entire year to get married from the time I was engaged) and found Steve and Jane at the Wedding Experience show in Dulles. First of all, they are my type of people! They say one of the most important things when choosing a photographer is finding someone you jive with and I just knew from the moment I met them both they were down to earth, cool people. They are passionate about what they do and it's so apparent every time we met. Our initial meeting was at a Starbucks in Capitol Hill, which they drove to from all the way out in MD, just to accommodate us. They came prepared with examples, a slideshow, printed books and armed with answers to every question we could think of at the time. They were also very responsive to emails and offered to chat/text whenever I had a question. Leading up to the date, I was extremely busy planning my wedding. One word of advice--be a good client, too! I was late with pretty much everything they asked me for (shot list, contact list) but they were super sweet about everything! They definitely can deal with a stressed out bride and groom very well! Our package included an engagement shoot but my fiance had to travel and then the one night it would have worked, it rained so I cancelled-again, very accommodating. I wish we would have had the time to do the engagement shots but it just didn't pan out! Hopefully we will do a shoot with them sometime in the near future! So, day of the wedding--pouring rain! My dream outdoor wedding was ruined and at the last minute we had to go with Plan B. Jane and Steve were prepped for the rain (we did a few shots outside under an umbrella with a light in it and let me tell you those pictures came out amazing!). They also worked extremely hard to keep me occupied and do a full-out bridal shoot due to some important members of our wedding party that were late. They went above and beyond to make our day extra special--they even helped pin flowers and fix my veil throughout the evening! I don't even know if they ate anything because they were constantly shooting (I have Italian guilt about this still)! They even stayed late because we ran over our time so much due to the wedding starting so late. They were by far the rockstar vendors of our wedding! On-time, professional, kind, worked well under pressure and did it all with a smile on their face! Fast-forward eight weeks and our pictures arrived via email on their site. I had a few questions about some shots and they addressed them right away. The pictures came out absolutely amazing!!!!!!!! I showed them to some of my friends and they told me they looked like pictures from a magazine. Steve and Jane, thank you for being so amazing, professional, fun and great at what you do! We have been fans of Stefanie's work for well over a decade before we finally became clients. Unfortunately I miscarried and we no longer needed the session. Stefanie was very sympathetic to our tragedy and over the years I would continue to admire her work wishing someday I could be a client. Fast forward to 2022, we were expecting our rainbow baby and I wanted to book a maternity session but due to our past experience I wanted to wait until later to even think of booking. My husband and I decided that we would book a newborn session instead. We kept the pregnancy pretty private so when I reached out to Stefanie during my 2nd trimester which is what she advised on her site so that she could plan and schedule the newborn session according, she was overjoyed with the news of our newborn baby and sent many congratulations our way. Once we had our rainbow baby, I followed up with Stefanie and we set up the session. She gave clear and concise instructions on how to prepare our newborn so that we would have the best session possible. We wanted to include our dog and Stefanie even had tips and tricks to prep our pooch as well. On the day of the shoot everything was set up in the studio so nicely. She even had refreshments and snacks! The ambiance was so warm, so welcoming, calm and relaxed. Our sweet girl slept most of the shoot as anticipated and when she did wake Stefanie was able to soothe her and put her back to sleep so effortlessly. The way that she shaped our baby and put her in positions was so effortlessly - truly a skill and pure art! She even taught us how to properly swaddle so that our bub would sleep well moving forward (THANK YOU! Such a big help during those newborn nights!) She has so many gorgeous fabrics, baskets, bows and other props for the babies. It is every girl mom's dream! The photoshoot experience went beyond my dreams and expectations. Our little love and our puppy did so well. We were able to order our photos and some pieces to display in our home. I am obsessed with the coffee table book and the metal print. We even ordered some of the digital prints so that we can use for cards and other purposes later. The studio shots made my daughter's face look very greasy from all the lighting used in the space of the studio. I would definitely shop around and/or ask all the questions you have in writing before signing a contract. I am cutting my losses with the actual sitting fee cost I paid. I WILL NOT be purchasing ANY of the photos from this photographer. Nor will I use this photographer again in the future. I'd like to respond to the photographer's comment. The photographer does not know why I chose to provide my Yelp review now. However, I will share my reasons. After going back and forth with rescheduling a date for the session (once on my terms another on her's) we had the session in October. I purchased the discount deal on Yelp after consulting with the photographer and her asking me where I found her (I found her on Yelp). She just said ok. When we spoke afterwards and I informed her I purchased the deal on Yelp. She tells me she already gave me a discount. During the consultation the photographer asked if it would be an indoor/outdoor session. I exclaimed I would like both so she quoted me a session sitting fee quote for both. The photographer stated in her response to my review she gave me a discount for an indoor/outdoor session. She never stated at the time of the consultation it was for the Yelp discount or that you can only use one discount. I would have made the decision that worked out as the best deal. She provided the online gallery for my review. Before entering the online gallery to review the photos she has a rating/review pop up. In order for you to enter the photos for review you have to rate it review her. I've never seen business practices like this. If your confident about the work you provide you would allow you customers to rate/review you after they review your work. Some of the pictures were good (the offsite photos) others were awful. All the indoor shots in her studio were awful! The indoor studio shots were where all her cap and gown shots were taken. The photographer had an abundance of lighting in her studio and only used "natural" lighting for the gym and outdoor shots. Needless to say, as a "PROFESSIONAL" photographer you prepare and provide lighting regardless. I'm not sure how this photographer feels she went above and beyond for me but, myself along with my daughter were her assistants for the session. So if anyone went above and beyond...it may be the client. Here nor there, I took my lost on the sitting fee cost I paid her for her time. Her quality of photography is by no means the quality of going to a studio. Do your research and get everything in black and white so you do not get bamboozled for SERVICE, QUALITY and YOUR VISION!

You should be aware that the owner (Mary) is not the photographer. She has no knowledge of, or…read morecontrol over, the photographer's work. I cannot recommend this photographer. I paid $450 for professional photography for my daughter's first birthday, a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that cost over $7,000. I trusted this photographer to capture such a special occasion, but the final gallery was extremely disappointing. Many of the photos were taken from low, unflattering angles, had poor composition, or were unnecessarily repetitive. Several important moments were either missed or not captured well. What was even more disappointing was the response afterward. When I raised my concerns, the photographer claimed that the angles had been "edited to eye level." That explanation made little sense. While editing can adjust exposure, color, and cropping, it generally cannot change the original camera angle or perspective. A photo taken from a low angle cannot realistically be transformed into an eye-level shot through editing alone. The photographer also failed to avoid obvious reflections in people's eyeglasses. Can you imagine paying $450 for professional photos, only to receive images in which bright white glare obscures people's eyes and faces? Instead of acknowledging the problems or offering a reasonable solution, Mary, the owner, refused to take responsibility or provide a refund. This was my daughter's once-in-a-lifetime first birthday, and after spending over $7,000 on the celebration, I expected professional-quality photographs that would preserve those memories. Unfortunately, both the quality of the photographs and the customer service fell far below my expectations.
