So, of course, there were a myriad of racing nuts totally down to watch the race and sip on a Mexican bevvie to beat the heat. The Waterhouse doesn't appear to be open year round and doesn't particularly operate like it. There are fissures in the crisp veneer presented here, not the least of which appeared to be the bevy of suits peering in (but not interacting) through the 90 degree heat, but for all that, the staff were perfectly sweet, the cocktails mad tasty, the Latin beers at the ready. They even asked the main act playing the pool area to break until after the race was over, which I found particularly neighborly. All in all, this seemed largely a collective of folks bent on being in the moment, and I can't say I blamed 'em, even the dude who sidled up to the bar to play the 'hey, do you know you look like' game. That never ends well. But no question I walked out of here smiling regardless.

Everything from the adjacent pool to the beautifully manicured gardens - it's an urban oasis that serves as a perfect escape from either the hustle and bustle of the city or the raising temperatures outside. The gardens resonated a wild and rustic feel, consisting mainly of bushes, small trees, and lush plants. There are no flowers to be admired, but it seems to make more sense that way as there was a common chic Western, ranch theme running throughout the hotel. The service was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. However, I was more impressed with the beer and cocktail menu. Feeling a bit frisky - I ordered the strawberry and basil mojito. I don't know what got into me - maybe it was the poolside ambiance or the exciting view of downtown Fort Worth - I knew I wanted a stiff cocktail. The Mojito successfully delivered. For a reasonable price, the serving size was generous as were there fresh ingredients of the drink. They even offer an Argentinian beer, that made all the boys happy at the table, that I had never recognized until now. Thanks Kevin - for putting together, yet another wonderful Yelp get together. Funkytown holds a special place in my heart.

They have 6, 8ft tables, 4 bar box tables, and I believe 3, 9 foot tables. Which all have the cleanest, nicest cloth I've ever played on in a pool hall. Tables roll true and the rails are super legit too. All tables have Andy's cloth similar to Simonis. They are cleaned regularly, as well as all the balls, they are shiny and roll perfectly since they clean them regularly. I shoot pool a LOT of pool and I've never been to a cleaner establishment. The tables are incredible!! They have the newest touch tunes machine that's uses the app as well as cash. The beer glasses are always clean and frosty & the bartenders are very nice and make sure you're taken care of. They have a few snacks if you're hungry but they also allow you to bring in food too if you'd like, (Taco Bell, walking distance). This is by far the best pool hall in all of Fort Worth. Even the house cues are clean and straight. Totally Amazed by what the owner has done here, by far the best 100%.

I found two charges on my bank statement, from the times they had held my card, even though I had paid in cash. I had not signed the receipt. Last time I was in there, the "night manager", asked me for my card. I told her I couldn't do that, since twice, I had been charged even though I had paid cash. Her response was "I still have to have the card because "I don't know you". She did not bother to check with any of the other bartenders, to ask about serving me previously. She also did not bother to even look the least bit concerned about the charges. She took the beer with both hands, raised her voice somewhat and said "then you can't drink here", making sure to inject some drama. The whole encounter demonstrated a COMPLETE lack of people skills, and an immediate willingness to be confrontational with regard to anything other than, "SHE" did not know me, without any attempt to do anything other than bully, control, and disregard the problem with the card being charged. You have to go out of your way to disrespect somebody to treat them that way, She was right about not drinking there. Putting someone that lacking in people skills coupled with a personality quick to escalate to confrontation in a management position, tells me all I need to know.
