For some reason,…read moremy better half thought we'd have an ocean view but that wasn't reasonable to expect at the price... The room was clean, the bed was comfy. It was fine. Basic. However, we do have a nice story. The manager said she'd been training up a new staff who'd accidentally charged our credit card twice. Although the charge was immediately reversed, she gave us a bottle of red wine to apologise. I really think this is a nice example of customer service: both friendly and professional, and I wish the managers/owners (who seem to be new) success.

We have a 4 month old and her porta cot fit with plenty of space leftover in our room. Had a relaxing spa bath after dinner at the hotels restuarant pizza and peroni! We will def be returning in the future! Everything you need is within walking distance and it's absolutely beautiful!

Lovely clean, fresh, newly updated interiors with large spacious bedroom, a firm mattress (which we love) separate kitchen area and good sized bathroom with shower & plenty of pressure - woot woot. Coffee and tea provided as well as plates, bowls, utensils, mini-fridge and microwave etc The interiors of the room have brick on both sides and wood style floors. It really was very nicely done. This is a Mom & Pop establishment so you must check-in before 7pm, so if stopping here on a 2 day tour of the GOR as we did, make sure with your tour director, that they will have you there in time.

The room was actually really nice, and I did get a pretty decent sleep as well. I probably wouldn't recommend coming here during high season, or if you do make sure you book ahead, however my luck probably had more to do with me arriving in the middle of winter during the working week as opposed to any other time. Oh, it's also pretty close to conveniences as well.

The kitchen has everything but a stove. It's got cups and plates and cutlery which came in handy. Booking.com had it at $138 per night but when I called them directly they gave me the same room for $100. Booking.com is a great search tool but call hotels directly to book! Its fairly old looking and when the rooms next door use their water the pipes seem to make loud noises. The blankets were thin and I needed two of them. And there is a little dust here and there but clean for the most part.

A 2min walk from Foodworks, the Lorne Visitor Centre, a cute breakfast place and pizza place, and a 5 min walk from the beach and other shops. Does the trick for low-maintenance road trippers who want a safe/clean place to crash in between drives.

While there isn't really anything else in the area, the motel is only a few minutes drive from Apollo Bay, and perhaps better value for money for that reason. We managed to get the last ocean view room, and you really do get a spectacular view of the beach, obstructed only by your own car parked out front. Our room was extremely modest and could have used some TLC (okay, a lot of TLC), but it was clean, and the Sharp convection microwave oven from my childhood worked like a dream (and the faux wood finish minibar fridge brought back a memory or two as well). The staff were extremely genuine and friendly and made some great recommendations about attractions in the area as we headed west. We didn't eat there, but they do have a cafe or restaurant or something. In all, I would have been happier if the price hadn't had everything to do with the view and more to do with the condition of the room or in-room amenities, like enough hot water for two people, or walls that aren't painted cinder blocks, for example. If you can't get a room with an ocean view or for cheap, I say don't bother.

Great for a weekend but has all the amenities such as pool, tennis courts and bbq areas for longer stays. The owner is really lovely and keeps her office open all day if you'd like to grab a vhs (yep, but you also have a dvd player in your loft as well) or some birdseed to feed the friendly cockatoos and parakeets that will visit your patio. It's charming, private and you can hear the roar of the ocean at night. Magical!
