My goal was to maintain my curls after the silk press as it is a concern that other stylists use too much heat which damage my curl pattern. Tashara and Tabitha were gems, very friendly and addressed all my concerns during my silk press. It feels like a chill ladies hangout while getting pampered as most of the clients know each other and are on a regular schedule. I can't wait to see how my hair springs back and my curls look after I wash off this silk press.

Unfortunately, I got stuck in traffic and was delayed by approximately 20 minutes. I contacted the salon twice to let them know that I was going to be late and the very sweet young lady advised it was ok. I finally arrive. Upon 5-10 minutes after my arrival the stylist started speaking with me and she was a bit miffed that I was late (very late) according to her; nonetheless understandable because her time is just as valuable as mine. I had come for a partial perm and cut. I ended up getting a protein treatment as well. The stylist cut my hair and permed the sides and her assistant washed my hair. I then proceeded to sit in this shop for a total of 6 friggin hours! 6 friggin hours! That was because she had approximately 10 women before me. The stylist reminded me why I started wearing weaves. The trick she uses is to get you in, perform the services, dry your hair, and then HOLD YOU HOSTAGE. That is how I felt. Spending that amount of time at a salon would suggest you are getting braids or dreads. To add insult to injury, the stylist charged me a $25 late fee and did not apply my deposit to my bill. $325 later, I finally obtained my freedom. I would definitely suggest the stylist as her work is fab; however, to spend what ended up being my whole day at a salon and not even get paid was a severe disappointment. My time is just as valuable! And no amount of gospel music will assuage the time that was lost! Also, the stylist needs to obtain organizational skills. I witnessed her put part of a perm in someone's hair and then walk away and start talking to someone else. Like NO!

Her prices are reasonable too I frequent this place to maintain my health and appearance of my locs. Since I've started going to Iaonstyles, I've seen a tremendous difference in the appearance of my hair and I have not been dissapointed yet.
