This was my third time coming to Blend Hair Boutique. I've done keratin here twice before and both times were fine. The most I ever waited was maybe 20 minutes, and I always liked that they offer coffee or water right away. I booked this balayage appointment over a month ago for 2 PM and I even put down a $100 deposit to secure it. Before booking, I texted the salon personally and asked how long after doing keratin I could get a balayage. They told me one week after was fine, so I followed exactly what they said and booked based on their answer, except I went about a month later. September 26 was my keratin and today, October 18th was my balayage. Earlier today they texted me asking if I could move it to 3 PM. I said yes. I got there at 2:50 PM, they offered me a cappuccino like always, which I do appreciate, and then I just sat there. By 3:35 PM I was still just sitting and hadn't even been taken to a chair. I ended up calling my boyfriend telling him I was about to get up and leave. Only after they overheard me did they finally move me to a chair, but even then I still had to wait because she wasn't done. She didn't actually start applying anything to my hair until 3:50 PM. About 10 minutes into starting, after foiling only the back section, she told me to wait again so she could go finish the other client. So I'm literally sitting there with foil only in the back of my head while the entire front is untouched after already waiting this long. At that point they should've just told me from the beginning that my appointment was really going to be at 4 PM. About 15 minutes later she came back and continued. I will say, they did offer me popcorn halfway through and asked again if I wanted a drink after applying the product, which is nice. But snacks don't make up for how disorganized the whole appointment was. I ended up staying an entire hour after closing just to finish my hair. To be fair to the stylist, she really did try her best to get it the way I wanted. She asked if I had done keratin recently and I told her yes. She then explained that because of that, the bleach and toner weren't lifting the way they normally would and that next time I should do hair botox instead of keratin if I want to do a balayage after. That would've been useful information to tell me when I texted before booking. The balayage came out nice, but it wasn't exactly what I wanted even though she genuinely tried. When I booked, the app clearly showed $280 total. I had already paid my $100 deposit, so I expected to pay around $180 in person. Instead, I was charged $260 at the salon and I left a $54 tip, so I ended up paying $314 there plus my $100 deposit, which totaled $414. I was also charged separately for the toner even though toner should already be included in a balayage. I only booked this appointment when I did because they confirmed through text that one week after keratin was fine, and then during the service I was told the reason it wasn't lifting properly was because I had keratin in my hair. The only upside to this appointment was that they didn't charge me for the deep conditioning and the blow drying at the end. The salon is pretty, the drinks and snacks are nice, and the stylist worked hard. But the timing, the rescheduling, being left mid-process multiple times, the pricing changing from what I originally booked, being charged extra for toner, and being misinformed ahead of time about the keratin all made this experience really disappointing. read more

I've been getting balayage at top South Florida salons for over 10 YEARS. My usual spot in Coral Gables charges $400 for a full balayage with toner and blow dry included. For context, the last time I got balayage was in May -- this was just a partial refresh, not a full start-from-scratch job. I had a partial balayage fill-in, root touch-up for grays, and a trim for split ends. No toner. No blow dry. The cost? $460. Can only IMAGINE what cost would've been if I had been able to sit there for the toner and blow dry. To top it off, I was in the chair for five hours for a service that normally takes 3-4 hours WITH the finishing steps. The INSANE celebrity pricing was never clearly explained upfront. I left feeling overcharged, underserviced, and honestly taken advantage of. The color is fine, the staff was friendly, the atmosphere nice, but the time suck and more importantly total costing was not. If you value transparency, timeliness, fair pricing, and complete service, I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

My bad in going somewhere I didn't know. I had some time in the area and decided on a trim, I showed Roger a picture of a pixie cut and maybe he didn't understand but once he sliced up my side with a electric razor it was too late. I cleary said I didn't want my hair like a man and he really chopped it off. It's so short has no style and I have to wait it out and return to my regular have dresser. I m surprised a "master" stylist wouldn't use scissors instead. Not going there again. Also, expensive. read more

My hairdresser Débora works at this salon, I love her, she's the only one who gets my hair color right. All hairdressers, manicurists and beauticians are Brazilian, as are 90% of the clientele. So maybe you who only speak English may not feel so comfortable with communication but you will definitely stay with the service. My hairdresser speaks English so not only because of that but because of the excellent professional she is, I suggest making an appointment with her. The salon is very well decorated and clean, the cleaning woman is cleaning all the time. In addition, they always offer cappuccino, coffee, water, popcorn, etc. The receptionist is not very friendly, very basic and will not help you much with any questions you have. In the salon you can buy some products such as Brazilian clothing and jewelry. In general, I think the prices there are super expensive, but like I said, I pay every penny for my hairdresser's service, it's totally worth it. read more

Roger and Marcelle gave the best experience I've ever had!! I gave this place a try after recently moving to the area and noticed they had multiple amazing reviews. As someone who's very picky about their hair, I think I should've read more into the reviews than I did but was just desperate to get a good cut and ignored the negatives. My hair had grown out extremely long after being a couple of years overdue for a trim and I used to have straight bangs that I wanted back. Since, I'm picky I know to have reference photos ready so my stylist has an idea of what I'm looking for. I had PLENTY. Once I sat in the chair, I did notice there was a language barrier (which isn't a problem) so I was like "I hope I can explain what I want to the best of my abilities." I showed the pictures, showed the bangs, briefly explained what I was looking for and with a small nod I thought "alright let's get to business!" One snip and the length is a lot shorter than I had anticipated...no problem though. Hair grows back. Then I emphasized the bangs that I really wanted back and got another nod. A few snips here and there no bangs but I'm not a professional so I thought maybe they're there and I just needed to wait for it to dry... So one of the stylists who shampooed my hair blow dried and styled it. It was beautiful! But...it wasn't what I asked for. I'm not sure where the communication got lost but I was disappointed. Unfortunately I won't be returning due to my experience but if you want a SIMPLE cut and wash, they did an amazing job. I guess what I asked for may have been too complicated so I might need to go to elsewhere for the style I'm looking for. :( read more

I went to this hair salon for a root touch up and a toner for the rest of my hair. My hair already had blond highlights on the top when I arrived. Leah dyed my roots a brown which covered the highlights I had. When we were done, I told her it was too dark and she pretty much covered all my highlights on the top to the point that you couldn't see them. She told me not to worry and come back in 2-3 weeks if the highlights did not come back after washing my hair various times and she would do the highlights for free. So I made an appointment, came back and now she won't do the highlights for free because she said I never had the blond highlights. I am so upset, this hair salon is very expensive and I was not happy with the results. The fact that Leah did not live up to her word and wanted to charge me again for her mistake is very upsetting. I expected more from this location and the staff. Never coming back here. Good luck if they mess up your color because they won't fix it even if they tell you they will. read more

They were honest I would need more time for what I asked. So she chose the best option. I loved it . Did layers the way I like and kept my length. The manicurist is also great! Very sweet. I really wanted to like this salon I recently had a bad haircut from another salon and made an appointment for a correction cut with Roger, first the gal at the front desk was not the most friendly person, second I showed him a picture of the cut I wanted told him not to touch the front, he did a nice job on my back but chopped me up on the front now I'm stuck with another bad cut in addition he blowed dried me like a old lady he asked me if I liked it I said no. I really wanted him to see my hair first, I gave him two reference pictures not a hard cut typical pixie but now I look like a grandma ugh! And because the shampoo gal didn't speak much English she didn't understand my request. The salon really had no personality and I wasn't blown away with the people in it. read more

Which can be annoying when they speak it all the time to each other. Think of nail salon... Vibezzz. Yes exactly but Brazilians speaking their native language like they are home with no regards for client's that do not. Daughter went for a junior cut, hair dresser (which I won't name just because she was nice) basically had my daughter put her head upside down and cut the hair - yes like on Tik Tok - how to cut long hair at home and that was it. No back checking to see if everything lined up properly. So needless to say, we need to get it cut properly elsewhere. Yes, not worth going back. So that's my "Tea" on this salon. Their balayage is horrible, I showed the stylist a picture of how I wanted my hair and I ended up with orange hair. The owner is very rude, I don't speak portuguese but I'm pretty sure she was talking about me in a bad way, very disrespectful. I was in Florida and needed to get my hair done. I needed to do the Brazilian keratin. I called a few places, and Blend got me in due to a cancellation. The Solan looked very nice, and I thought I would get good service. My stylist didn't speak English, so I had difficulty communicating with her. But I figured I really shouldn't have had a hard time that she would understand what I wanted when I said I wanted a Brazilian Keratin treatment. She asked if I wanted the Botox hair treatment, and I said no, but what is the difference? Again she couldn't explain, so she asked this young girl who worked behind the counter to explain, but the girl could not explain 100%. But in the end, I repeated Brazilian Keratin. So she started doing my hair; after she applied the keratin, she had me sit for about 20 min, and after she rinsed my hair where you usually don't do that, at least when I do in NY, they don't rinse. I didn't say anything; I just figured everyone uses different products. So she then blow drys my hair and flat irons it. I paid 200.00, and 3 days later, when I returned to NY, I washed my hair. Now I expect my hair to air dry soft, shiny, and straight. To my surprise, my hair was frizzy; it looked the same as I walked into the salon. I don't know what she used or if the rinsing was the fault. But this was not the first time I got this treatment, and it was a failure. Now did she do the Botox instead? I don't know. I didn't call them since I was back in NY. But I definitely won't go back again. What bothers me the most is having someone who does not speak English. The owner should be on top of the client to ensure they get what they need. Or else don't hire a nonspeaking stylist. KK read more

While I only speak English, they did a wonderful job accommodating me. I had a young lady give me coffee and water, wash my hair, brush my hair and had Juliana C. cut my hair.
