There are not enough good things I can say about Michelle! She did my hair and makeup for my wedding, and to this day I still look back at my photos and can't believe how beautiful I felt. I just want to personally thank Sandra for saving the day at my friend's wedding reception last week. The bride Katie was left high and dry at her backyard wedding reception (with 175 guests attending) when her hair and makeup girl had her boyfriend call in sick for her just 3 hours before guests were supposed to arrive. We started frantically calling all the local businesses and salons and either received no response, no availability on such short notice, or "I'm sorry, we don't do weddings." I loved every minute of working with Michelle from day 1. I was really nervous about getting my makeup done for my wedding because each time I had it done for a wedding prior to mine, I didn't like it. I found her via a list of vendors my wedding venue provided me with as a place to start. I looked up each artist's IG account, and Michelle's was by far my favorite. She uses airbrush makeup and it looked so pretty on everybody and never caked on or "clown-ish", which is how I frequently view professional makeup. After reaching out to Michelle via her website, she responded very quickly with a personal phone call and I felt so completely at ease after that. She's very personable and friendly, but always up front and honest with her professional opinions. She made it clear that her goal was only to elevate my features, not to make me look like a different person, and I loved that attitude. She brought this same fun and friendly, but professional and honest dynamic to my hair and makeup trial and helped me to understand when what I was saying I wanted definitely didn't match up with what I was showing her in pictures (Makeup and hair are not my area of expertise). She always gave me tips on a face/skin routine so I'd be good to go for wedding day. I knew I could trust her and I left my makeup and hair trial feeling so incredibly pretty and reassured. The rest of the time leading up to my wedding, Michelle was super easy to work with and communicated very well via her website and email. Her contract was detailed and easy to understand. She gave me a schedule of times/order of hair and makeup for each of my bridesmaids and myself for the day of wedding, which I loved knowing everything was so organized. On the day of she remained so social and friendly but never stopped working for a second and, along with her second artist, Jamie, got through everybody in plenty of time! My wedding was the first wedding I've been to where there was downtime for everybody bridesmaid before pictures started. My MIL decided last minute that she wanted her hair done too, and then one of my bridesmaids decided on the day of while getting ready that she wanted her makeup done as well and Michelle remained so flexible and patient and made it happen for both, even though I'm sure that was super stressful for her. In the end I LOVED my hair and makeup. I wouldn't change a thing. All my bridesmaids looked incredible, and I could not have been happier I chose Michelle. I was actually sad she couldn't stay and enjoy the wedding with us because we had so much fun talking with her while getting ready. Either way, she left me with a touchup kit that came in handy for my lipstick. After hours of dancing, my hair updo and makeup was still so perfect in pictures which was also such a pleasant surprise, because I danced A LOT. (Review is for hair only, since I had already hired someone for makeup) Sandra Michelle is a life saver! I totally procrastinated in finding a hair stylist for my destination wedding in San Diego. I found her by searching the internet and found some great reviews so I decided to go with her versus a couple of other stylists that I found. Thank goodness she was able to accommodate me and was available on my wedding day! She is so outgoing, friendly, professional, punctual, and she really calmed my nerves when she did my hair trial. She traveled to my hotel for a tiny fee for my trial a couple of days before the wedding. I wanted retro waves, which she ultimately ended up doing for the wedding, but she did a few different variations to ensure that I had gone through all my options before deciding. I loved them all! She even gave me the option of changing it up after my ceremony, which she would have stayed for to do the change for an extra fee per hour- she is very flexible! While she was waiting to do some of our bridesmaid's hair, she even curled a couple of the flower girls' hair, too :) Aside from her stylist duties, she was prepared for anything! She has a case that she brings with her like an"in case of emergency" kit, in which she happened to have a bridal hair comb that she let me use since I forgot to buy one (eeks!) and also some random things including dental floss which I had asked for, as well haha! Most of all, she did a fabulous job and made my bridesmaids and I look glamorous for my wedding day. She styled my hair exactly how I envisioned it and was such a fun yet calming person to work with! Sandra did the hair and makeup for my wedding one week ago including 5 bridesmaids, 2 moms, and my officiant. Sandra was very punctual which I appreciated as it was a remote venue! However, I was extremely disappointed with her day of service. The most upsetting was that she informed me on the morning of my wedding that I owe a $200 fee for her two assistants. She had never once mentioned this to me beforehand nor did she ask me if I wanted to pay for two assistants. There was no written or verbal communication about the extra charge and I felt that was unprofessional. She let me know it was on her website but I have no reason to return to a website months later after booking you. Additionally, when she did my hair it was not like the trial as it had a different style braid and bun. She of course re did it but seeing as how we had a trial it was disappointing that it did not look the same on the first attempt and I had ended in tears. Final product looked great though! Just was a small struggle to get there. One last disappointment was that my maid of honor had one of her false lashes falling off after our only 20 min ceremony! Thank goodness for Sandra Michelle Artistry! Michelle herself was amazing and she was a pleasure to work with. Even though she wasn't specifically the artist to do my makeup or hair, her team is wonderful! Terrin and Ruby were spot on with my hair and makeup. They also did an amazing job with my bridal party and the mom's. First off, let me say that Terrin is probably one of the best people who have ever done my makeup. I don't wear makeup at all and when I do its very bare like only eye makeup. And when I've gotten by makeup done professionally, they usually make me look like, well not me haha. So Terrin did a fantastic job on bringing out my natural beauty with a touch of glam. As for Ruby, she was not able to be at my hair and makeup trial, but on the day of the wedding, she did a perfect job as well. She did ask me if there were any adjustments I wanted from the trial and there were slight changes and she was able to adjust and make my hair look perfect.
