do not rent from this company, they go by Walnut Creek now. I was a tenant for almost 2 years at one of their properties in Elyria. the process got moving in was fast and easy however from there it was bs, I had a gas leak due to the gas hose not being properly hooked up to the stove( they didn't even have the right hookups attached) I had waited almost a year before they were able to get me a working stove/oven, I had only request two maintenance reports and one of them never showed up (they tried charging me $75) the second time was involving my ceiling falling in and the maintence worker straight up told me to save all my paperwork bc they will try to fee for everything they could. They broke into my house with no notice or prior warning while I was sleeping and then threatened to change the locks and charge me $75 for the lock change. I recently moved and while he's the home was not in peak condition it wasn't damaged in any way. I surrendered my lease at the beginning of november, they are trying to say I didn't pay for oct when I have proof that I did, and are trying to charge me for nov as well as soon as I moved out and told them where the keys were they padlocked the door. They're not timely they're rude, you're home will be falling apart and they won't care. All they care about is the money. I was not about to stay living in a home that was literally sinking in and falling apart. Getting your deposit back from these people is impossible I wouldn't even try. to the property owners as a renter I do not recommend you sell your property to this company they will run your property to the ground and make it a horrible place for everyone involved. read more

Absolute Scumbags!!!! I've lived in a property that was originally owned by a private landlord who unfortunately sold his properties to these pathetic losers & it's been HELL ever since. They do not take care of the property, they wait until notices from the state are on the door to do things like pay the utilities or cut the grass. We told them we wouldn't be renewing our lease & they're making us pay for it? Contacted Sandstone Realty on several occasions to complain about their tenants..... Yes! I have 37 pics of disgusting condition of Sandstone property that, hopefully, will motivate Sandstone Realty to take affirmative action in resolving issue of "uncivilized" tenants.... the children are left alone most of the time and teen girls attract young thugs that throw trash into our yards and insist on acting vulgar and screaming obscenities! I have resided in this community for 60+ years and have never experienced such vulgarity in tenants, such as the tenants, that have been here for approximately one year, tenants that Sandstone realty has inflicted into our neighborhood! I have, actually, been confronted by thugs that have caused me to file police reports! Sandstone realty, please restore peace and harmony back into our neighborhood! We have a block watch committee set up, just for Sandstone Realty tenants that have blemished our neighborhood! Children Services has had to step in due to neglect of 5 children, apparently, being raised by 15 yr old .... 4 of the children are under age of 6! DO NOT get involved with this company in any way shape or form. Unbelievably bad experience with them. I put an application in for a property that I wanted to rent, and within two days I received a message saying "congratulations, your application has been accepted", and then it followed up with asking me to submit my security deposit and instructed me to call their office for more info on how to do this. I called their office and informed them of the message I received, and I was told that Connie would call me back shortly. Several hours went by and no one ever called me back. I then received another message saying the property was no longer available. Extremely confused, I called their office back and spoke with Connie. She said "Oh, you never actually had the property, we accepted multiple applications and it was whoever could get their security deposit in the fastest." You can imagine my utter disbelief, because this is not how typical property management companies conduct business with rental applications. In addition, I was NEVER told beforehand that they would be accepting multiple applications and that it would be a race for whoever could get the deposit in fastest. What property management company conducts business this way?!? Connie was not apologetic in any way, and acted as if I was crazy for questioning their process. They clearly don't care who their tenants are, and accept anyone who applies apparently. PLEASE think twice before getting involved with this company, as either a renter or property owner. Update from My previous review ! They were able to undo my valves for my washer and dryer . However , they gave me a makeshift vent bucket to empty out for lint . They had the vent connected to my bathroom which cause my walls to be drench in water and lint . New PROBLEM ! Ive been smelling gas everytime I enter my home . Never thought anything of it I just thought it's cause its a older building . But today it was stronger than ever ( mind you I've been sleeping a lot more and finding it hard to get up & this past week having headaches ) . Gas company told me theres a leak and they didn't even have my carbon monoxide vent connected at all since replacing my hot water tank ! As I write this , im still waiting for the maintenance line to pick up it's been 20 minutes . I will Have to relocate due to my gas is shut off and can't cook nor shower . read more

They managed my properties and from the reviews it seems they are just as terrible to tenants as they are to landlords. My properties were kept in terrible condition, could never get a hold of them- they screen their calls and don't answer. One of their sales people is extremely rude and you need to watch what they are billing you for VERY carefully.... Do not use this company. read more

My fiancé and I are trying to relocate. I scheduled an appointment, 2 actually, through their preferred website I believe it was forrent.com. Jason McLaughlin was supposed to show us 2 properties. One of which we were supposed to see today. The emails you receive that remind you of your appointment? Are automatic. He's never been in contact with us. His voicemail is ALWAYS full. Also, he did NOT show up to the property to show it to us for our scheduled appointment at 11am. This has been such an unprofessional experience. Especially for possible tenants who wish to move in. If you are an owner and wish to use their property mgmt services run don't walk away. So unprofessional! I contacted Sandstone Realty and another property management place on Thursday mid day to discuss moving my rental properties under a property mgmt company to oversee. As a realtor I have several properties and can't give them my full attention. Left a message for Sandstone Realty on Thursday and got a call back on Friday at 5:00 pm. I was in the middle of showing houses so unable to answer. I called Joseph back on Monday at 1:00 pm and told him I was returning his call concerning my original call to mgmt my residential property. He said yeah what do you need and explained that I just finished rehabbing a property and was in the process of interviewing property mgmt companies and wanted to know what their process is. He replied process, I don't understand what you mean by process. I said well what is your process to determine the rents and viewing the house what do you offer as a company. His response was if you want to hire us that is your decision we don't make that for you, if you want to meet or do it over the phone then that is on your but the decision to hire is your responsibility. At that point I could see he truly did not want my business. If you can't even find the words to explain what is involved, how they get tenants how they oversee the mgmt of my property and want to act like you are doing me a favor then this is not a place I wish to put my business. Sandstone is very shady I moved in a property of theirs in Nov 2017 from Nov to Jan we had no heat (I have two children and a elderly person who was sick with cancer who passed in March of Pneumonia) they kept sending maintenance people who had no clue what they were doing and left us with no heat almost all winter it took us three request to get a toilet that would not flush replaced and other request I asked for were denyed like the porch that is rotting off the front of the home and to top it off they throw last fees on your ledger even if you pay your rent on time this company is unprofessional and rude DO NOT RENT FROM THEM they try to polish their homes to look no e enough to rent in reality they garbage YOU CAN POLISH A TURD BUT IT'S STILL A TURD read more

Currently living at a property that they manage. They either appear to be undermanned and overwhelmed or just unprofessional and lacking. Very hard to get a response to maintenance requests. The most recent, a hole that appears in the ceiling with water dripping through it would seem rather important, especially if I owned the property that they were managing. After contacting them again, finally received a response 1 week after our initial request, with the appointment scheduled 10 days after reporting the problem. Currently waiting for the maintenance guy to show up. Over an 1 1/2 hour late. I understand that appts can run long, these guys can be late, just give me a head's up, let me know. Tried calling the property managements maintenance line twice, waiting over 15 minutes total, never speaking to anyone. Called directly into the office and was told he was running late, really???, and they are too busy to call to let me know he's late or when he'll show up. It was a very unconcerned and apathetic response, and seemed to be a regular occurrence by the tone and delivery. The tenant agreement states that we would be charged a $75 fee if we cancel or miss a maintenance appointment. What is my time worth and will I be reimbursed for my time sitting idly waiting for them to show up? As a tenant, looking to have things taken care of and fixed, they are frustrating to deal with. If I owned a property that they managed, I would be concerned about how they go about taking care of my property and the length of time it takes for them to act upon a request. read more

Very unprofessional office manager named Margarita Nunez. Did not return my call when I left a voicemail, forced me to communicate in text. I also looked through the replies to people's bad reviews on google and this management company is super rude when answering. I'm surprised they are still in business. I have always paid all my bills and my rent on time or early. I gave notice I intended to move the day they sent me renewal notice. However, since it was 50 days instead of the full 60 they are requiring me to pay an extra month when I will not even be living there. I thought it was good practice for landlords to send the renewal in time for the tenants to give adequate notice, but Sandstone is shady enough to squeeze that last bit out of you. So in the meantime I am paying rent on an apartment that reeks of marijuana from the people below and my young son cannot even use his bedroom. I would not rent from here, when I moved in the cupboards didn't even have shelves and there were no blinds for the windows. Had to do that all myself. The carpet was gross and the place still smells like animal from the people who lived here before me. So maybe the marijuana smell is an improvement! read more

He was a no show and when I emailed him about the fact that I was left waiting there and that we would need to reschedule, his only response was: "Sounds Good". I live at a property of theirs, sometimes they do not pay the garbage bill so it goes weeks without getting picked up, on multiple times the building lost hot water, several times the washer and dryer quit working, ceilings leak and they do a cheap patch and it leaks again. BEWARE THIS COMPANY! They tried to collect rent on a property that I owned. Sandstone told my tenants to not pay me rent, that they would be collecting from then forward. They had no authorization to do so, furthermore I'd never heard of them prior. I understand that mistakes happen, but they then CALLED ME to collect the rent from me for the property that I owned. WOW! Instead of correcting the situation with the tenants and me, i get a text saying my account was updated. WHAT ACCOUNT? I don't know you.
