This is a beautiful theater that reminded me very much of the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor. I was here this weekend for the first annual LEAFF (Lake Erie Arts & Film Fest) and enjoyed seeing movies in this venue. It's a lot smaller than the Michigan but still just as beautiful. The concession stand seemed to be open during LEAFF but no one was actually manning it - I did see popcorn was $3 but for a small portion. Ticket-takers / other staff were friendly, restrooms were clean, the theater part itself is gorgeous. Worth seeing a film here if you're in the area. read more

The Sandusky State Theatre is a historic landmark that enhances the lives of the residents of North Central Ohio by providing a variety of programs of artistic, educational and social value.

History

Established in 1928.

Since 1928, The Sandusky State Theatre has been a regional attraction and continues to operate as a top live entertainment destination for Erie County and beyond. The 1500-seat theatre has served the community in many capacities, functioning as a Vaudeville theatre, movie palace, and world-class performing arts center. The Theatre was privately operated as a touring road house and movie theatre for six decades. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 in an effort to preserve the structure as movie audiences migrated to mall cinemas. In 1992, the Theatre underwent a major renovation project and has since that time become Erie County's largest not-for-profit arts organization.

When you pick your own in the fall, you can get a peck of fallen apples for only $8. Crazy deal. Peck is like 50+ apples. Come visit this great fruit farm next summer or anytime of the year!
