Living in the Piedmont region, I've found that the local cuisine can be something of an acquired…read moretaste. That's not to say it's bad--it just hasn't always been my preference. There are a few standout spots, but they often come with a pretty steep price tag. That's why discovering Tisdale Southern BBQ really caught me off guard. This is the kind of authentic Southern cooking you expect in this region--flavorful, hearty, and done right. Honestly, it could easily compete with some well-known spots down in Georgia. Even better, the portions are generous and the prices are surprisingly reasonable. If you ever get the chance to stop by, I'd definitely recommend giving them a try.

It's Father's Day today. Happy Father's Day to all who celebrate. I was planning a trip to Lake…read morerim Park and wanted to get some food to have there. With a ton of restaurants. at Westside Village, I really didn't want fast food and I came upon this food truck. I was so excited it was southern barbecue that really appealed to me. I ordered the Father's Day special barbecue pulled pork and two sides for $13. I also opted for the honey bun cake. My two sides were potato salad and baked beans although there was other sides to choose from I wanted them all, but I chose these two baked beans and potato salad When I opened the container and saw all the pork I couldn't believe how much was there all this for $13 was amazing to me, $3.75 for the slice of cake which is the norm and absolutely homemade delicious. I will be returning because I would really like to try the other selections like barbecue beef brisket and the collard greens and macaroni and cheese If you're over by the Walmart supercenter in the Westside Villiage @Raeford Rd & Gillis Hill, you've got to stop and try them out Mr. Tisdale was very nice helped me out with some choices and I really appreciated it. 10/10 to all the above.

Visited their truck on Mother's Day at Dirt Bag Ales and was disappointed with the service. I…read moreordered their fresh squeezed lemonade $4, a blue raspberry $3 and a strawberry snow cone $3 both with sweet cream and both with sour worms, so that's additional $2, since it's .50 for toppings. So total of $12 plus tax. I gave the lady $50 and she gave me $13.50 change. When I noticed that my change was wrong I asked the lady about it and she gave me back my $50 saying we don't accept $50s, why not tell me before taking my $ and shorting me of my change? Since it's Mother's Day and hot that day there was a long line. There was no way of telling if the orders they bringing out is yours. People are just grabbing it thinking it was theirs since they're just calling what it was. My orders took a long time which is understandable because there were so many people, but when I noticed that the people after me got theirs, I talked to the lady and she said someone took my order. I saw it when she called it out but I didn't think that was mine since it was one snow cone with blue raspberry on one side and strawberry on the other side, with sour worms and no sweet cream, so I explained to her that wasn't my order. They made me a new one and apologized. While we were eating by the truck, I overheard another guy with his kids asking about their order since the people after them Got their order and they didn't. They need to give out order numbers or take their name down. Also receipts would be nice to make sure they took the right order and add up the correct amount. Also the lady taking orders should tell their customer how much is the total of their order each time, before taking their money or card. it took me a minute to realize she short me on change. People work hard for their money, it would be nice to know that they're paying what they really ordered, not getting short on change or not paying short for the order.

Cool I'll wait. Well I waited and waited and then I ordered something for my son. The lady in front of me the second time I went to the window got her soft serve, nachos, hot dog, and soda before I got my original order. My son asked the girl bellowing numbers where 71 was and she said, "we are only on 68." And has proceeded to bellow out the number 75 no less than 10 times. They have now called 78 and still no ice cream and no coke float. How does this make any sense? And she's rude because she's mad she had to remake someone's snow cones, cool I'd be upset too but at the end of the day I don't understand how an ice cream cone can take longer than ANYTHING else to make. I was so excited to come out and find a cool place to hang out and now it appears I'll keep looking. I gave the extra star because the young lady taking the orders was super sweet.
