I honestly wanted to just stay in the cosy, beautiful room and watch the UK top 40 on my tv all day long and rest and relax and enjoy life. forget the ridiculously expensive hotels that face the sea. this place is a hop, skip and a jump from the boardwalk. and nothing beats the service of a bed and breakfast. so personal and friendly! It's a family-owned and managed bed and breakfast and i swear if i'm ever lucky enough to return to Wales, I'm staying here again. I was on a 2-week long trip to Europe and going all over the place and had a huge suitcase with me and i didn't know there was no elevator. I have a bunch of herniated discs in my neck and lower back so I'd asked if anyone could help me with the suitcase and his young daughter said that she'd take care of it for me and i looked and her and said oh gosh no, let's do it together! but then her dad came by and did it himself and insisted on it and not taking a tip and i felt so horrid but so grateful. they also helped with directions and suggestions on where to go and what to see. i didn't have breakfast there but they have a beautiful breakfast area and people there were enjoying their Welsh b'fast. i grabbed some juice and was off to explore this phenomenal and unbelievably friendly town of Llandudno. The room was super clean, the bed was super comfortable, the tv had a million channels including American ones, but who's watching American tv in Wales? not me! the bathroom was excellent. great water pressure, abundance of hot water, the shower area might be small for an american dude but it was perfect for me. the day i left i had to catch an early train to london and the owner's son was SO kind and woke up at 5A.M. just to help me lug that damn suitcase downstairs. WHO DOES THAT???? i insisted on tipping and thanked him profusely. and in case you're wondering, that suitcase finally died in London and i bought a smaller suitcase to fly home with. so don't worry guys, next time i'll handle my suitcase myself ;)

There is no parking, as advertised and I didn't think it would be as much of a problem as it was. In the end only parked 5-10 minute walk away and it was free. The outside of this place is one of the best in Llandudno let alone the street. It looks like it should be some where warmer, there are palm trees and everything is a sandy colour. The room itself is on the top floor, there were sloping ceilings and a very dark corner of the room but it is well decorated as is the bathroom. There is a bath with a shower attachment which cannot be mounted to the wall because of the low ceilings. The bathroom itself is large and airy with good lighting. The only pet peeve I have is it is fitted with a saniflow pipe system, this is when there is a box plumbed into the toilet and all pipes from bath and sink go directly into it and it pumps water out of that part of the house; usually used when there is no existing plumbing. The noise, oh the noise. I'm surprised we didn't have complaints when both of you want a bath and the water has to drain through that motor. The breakfast room was beautifully decorated with bay windows and a filling again like you should be abroad somewhere, the food was delicious and the portions good considering that it was free. Staff were friendly and courteous. I would stay again, but would think hard about it in the busy times for parking. I would also request a room on the lower floors.

A couple things I'd highlight: -We met one of the owners (Colin, I believe) and he was super welcoming and suggested a great local restaurant around the corner called Watsons Bistro. -The rooms are very tasteful and the beds are comfortable. -The breakfast was tasty and the service was great. -The chapel is really very beautiful/special/fantastic/all the adjectives. -We parked right outside the walls for a cheap price. It was only a few minutes walk. No big deal. Conwy and Snowdonia were our favorite places to visit on our Wales trip, and the Gwynfryn Guest House definitely contributed to that! As of last Sunday 5/20/2017~ish, the new kitchen and breakfast room has been relocated to the old church chapel - it's awesome! So, the room I stayed in was in the "vestry" and was superb! All brand new, clean and cozy - the room was perfect! The ensuite bathroom was very nice (only needed some hand soap.) During my recent trip, I stayed twice, but a week apart...kinda coming and going. Both visits were stellar. Colin was extremely cool and accommodating (only met Monica briefly - she was quite friendly). I'm not sure how soon I'll be back, but I will only stay at Gwynfryn during my next visit to Conwy - it was PERFECT! 5 stars...so SOLID!

The venue however is for the majority of time used for special occasions such as weddings and conferences. Although they do hold private events such as tea parties. The grand nature of the Hall obviously dictates its usage for all things opulent. It really is like entering another world as you step inside. One of the many ways of experiencing the delights of Knowsley hall is to book a spa package. Now it isn't exactly cheap; £155 per person, but it does include facial, deep scalp massage, head, neck and shoulder massage with fabulous oils of your choice and use of the hydropool and relaxation area. This is followed by coffee and homemade cakes which will boost your energy and prepare you nicely for what is to come. Post cakes and coffee you will be collected by a personal chauffeur to escort you to Knowsley Hall in style. Here you will enjoy a delicious three course lunch prepared by their fantastic team of Chefs avec une glass of Champagne and wine with your meal in an awe inspiring dining room. After dining you can then walk off some calories in stunning surroundings of the estate grounds, to cap off a memorable experience. All this pampering does come at a cost however as I mentioned and the booking requires a minum of 3 people, so that is forking out a poultry £465 at least. However as I mentioned, yes there are probably cheaper options but then again this particular package does come with the grand background of a historic estate. The only other chance to see the Hall is on 5 occasions a year in August when a £12 ticket gets you a tour of the Hall, so I suggest you get booking.... its round the corner..

If of course you don't have your wedding at Knowsley Hall, you could always have your hen party there and take advantage of the spa packages. Now that I have described the meaning of one of my favourite words to utter, I may continue on my merry way to review this hotel . Any how on my yelp inspired journey I bring to you my fellow yelpadres another chain of hotels in our fair greens of Kingdom of United by the name of Village hotels. Twenty be the number aye of hotels of the Village persuasion and this one has taken my fancy indeedeth!!! You see whether your stay is for business or for leisure this place does not dissappoint, as unfortunate as the name may be. There really isn't much not to like here you have comfortable bedrooms, a state of the art Health and Fitness Club, decent restaurant, ok pub, nice Café, Healthworks wellness and beauty, The Hub meeting and conference centre, VILLAGE live party nights and a Velocity Fitness Shop!!! God that was a mouthful wasn't it. Amongst all of that throw in free Wi-fi throughout the hotel and over 300 free car parking spaces, and hey presto you are in bob's your uncle territory!! There really seems to be a great package you get with this hotel chain which is going bit further and making more effort than some other hotels. It's location also isn't too bad either with it being only a few minutes from Junction 5 off the M53. Ideal launch pad really for exploring the Pool, Albert Dock and Beatles Story as well as the superb shopping on the Wirral, Chester, Marina West Kirby and nearby Cheshire Oaks. Despite having 117 bedrooms you'd still have to book well in advance as they are busy busy busy which is a good sign for a hotel. I like the decor of the rooms it creates a workable fusion between rustic and modern and of course as is the norm these days, all rooms are equipped with flat screen TV's with Sky Sports and other satellite entertainment channels. The hotel also boasts these Sealy ZZZzzz beds which are specially designed to prevent tossing and turning and relieve pressure points while you sleep. Hmmm the jury is out on that one but they are damn comfortable I tell you that because I am actually aware of the Sealy bed making company and yes they do make very nice beds!! I liked this Village hotel, and I'd definately stay in another Village hotel again might look it up when I'm next on the move.... So...why don't you look up this one now that I've introduced you...who knows you might have a great night together !!!

Sara and Lauren went above and beyond to provide outstanding service. They helped my husband clean his coat from the amount of fur it had one it. Not their job but they were the sweetest to help out.
