Our sweet girl golden retriever that is our whole life ended up with spleen cancer and was getting…read moreto the point that she had enough. My girl lily was taken to a vet in stony plain for all her appointments over her 10 years. I phoned and told the girl at the desk that my girl was in trouble and could you please have the vet contact me As soon as possible because i had to put her down. No return call ! I phoned dr fryer and explained my situation and she met me and my wife after hours at her clinic. She was so kind and caring with us and our lily she took her time and helped us through this difficult time. What a wonderful old school vet that isnt just after the money thanks dr fryer you will always be remembered in our hearts.

I have been taking all of my ' fur babies' here, since moving to the area 3 yrs ago…read more I highly recommend Dr. Fryer and her staff, they are very kind, compassionate and genuine. A year ago my Best Friend and companion Bart had been diagnosed with a very rare condition. We tried everything to save him, Dr. Fryer had no problems trying to treat him and realizing that he needed an ER. She had them ready and waiting for us upon arrival, in Edmonton. She also kept in very close contact on his condition. Late one evening it was apparent that, Bart was not doing well at all. At home he was unable to get proper oxygen and had seized. I was alone at home with him, on a farm with no vehicle. When Dr Fryer called, I was in tears almost unable to speak. She and her husband took the time to rush to help my boy. Unfortunatly he was just too sick and we made the decision to let him go. I was beyond consoling at this time, but the Dr and her husband were very kind a sincere with trying to comfort me over my loss. I now have another pup who unfortunatly has a bowel disease, that has required many visits to the vet. He is very well cared for by the staff and Dr Fryer. They are very knowledgable and highly helpful whether on the phone giving advise (free of charge) or in person. I've never been told to run expensive or unnecessary tests. It is unfortunate that the previous reviewer had a bad experience. I would not hesitate to have my fur babies treated here, by the fabulous and knowledgeable staff.

I have been taking my animals to Illya for almost 10 years. He has been incredibly fair and caring…read morewith them. It started when my Shit-zu was peeing blood, Illya told me to bring him in right away (even though it was a holiday and after hours). Fast forward a couple of years and the same dog - had glaucoma in 1 eye. After spending over $500 in the city to be told this was the situation, I took him to Illya, the eye was removed and when I asked if there were other options - he said yes- we could drain it repeatedly- it will be painful and that is called milking the client- not happening here. Two years later the other eye was removed due to glaucoma- Oliver is now 14 years old and still in great health. This past January - we rushed our cat in- Illya ran every test he could to try and save Thor. Unfortunately after 3 rounds of bloodwork, antibiotics, 3 times knocking him out to take blood and a cathater as well as 6 days in house care there was nothing more that could be done. He waited for me to bring my daughter after hours, so we could say goodbye and be with Thor as he passed. They never rushed us and the compassion shown was incredible. Illya explained EVERY SINGLE test and procedure done on Thor so my daughter would understand. He gave her all the time she needed with her baby. He apologized to me that the bill was so high ($1000) would have been far more than that in the city. Any time I have ever had a problem with my animals I have made the 90 minute drive out to Barrhead. Illya is a gruff, no sugar coating kinda guy. He tells it like it is and does not pull punches. The care he shows animals and their owners is second to none. If you cannot handle someone who doesn't fart sunshine and rose scented rainbows then do not go see him. He does not believe in overcharging his clients and I have recommended many many friends to him. All of which have said the same - he is an incredible Vet. His passion is the animals!!!! I will continue to recommend him as will everyone I have sent his way! Annette Peppler

Wanted to have the records from my dog transferred to a vet who I know and trust. Called and told…read morethe receptionist who said yep, no problem. Then my vet called to say they won't send them. I called back to have the vet answer. He IMMEDIATELY started yelling at me, telling me he won't until the breeder I got her from calls. Makes no sense to me, so I called my vet back to find out what is going on. They advised I call the police. I now know why he was so defensive. This vets license has been suspended in the past for failure to keep proper records and causing animals harm and unjust pain. Brutal. So we finally get the INCOMPLETE records at my veterinarian clinic. He had misdiagnosed my dog, as well as failed to include any tests (if he even did any) to document her ailment. Don't put your animals life in the hands of this monster.
