The owner is an extremely friendly man who works as a part time writer and letterer; part of his shop is dedicated to selling art supplies for budding comics artists. The shop also actively supports the Australian independent comics community by selling a number of locally produced titles. Friday Night Magic is a regular event here, as are Thursday night board games nights. For players and parents alike there is a small coffee service available as well as cold drinks. The coffee is also quite good. Overall the shop is open, friendly, well stocked and neat, something that's always a pleasure to see in shops that are notorious for being cluttered and dark. This little gift shop is crammed with goodies with fabulous prices for a tourist town…read more I came across this gem merely walking along the street and the number of items in the window beckoned me. The gentleman behind the counter explained that a variety of locals leave their homemade crafts there for sale so it was a nice mix with the cheap overseas imports. There are ceramic animals, scarves, bags, souvenirs and even umbrellas for the tropical weather. My breakable purchase was wrapped in bubble wrap without extra charge and I bought numerous items which went straight on credit card. I do hope this little shop still exists when I return to this beautiful part of Queensland.
