I went to Sans Souci Ballroom for their Open House and Social, braving a 40+ minute drive in the storm to experience what they had to offer. They had ~10 vendors on display. The ballroom is quite spacious and beautifully decorated, with many options on square or round tables. Highlights are a large and well lit dance floor and contingencies for indoor or outdoor options. The venue holds up to 1,000 people which is quite impressive! They did offer 25% off a booking for attending which put the Saturday pricing at around $24,000 for the venue before catering options. I sampled their in-house catering options and found the fajita to be really tough, and the chicken options were just okay and relied a bit too much on sauce to offset the dryness. Maybe it was left out for too long but I would consider outside catering. The venue is also quite customizable for entertainment. We saw a robot dancer, a fire juggler, and an aerial silk dancer perform, and they could hang the silks from the ceiling easily. The staff seemed very friendly though a bit disorganized with confusing the sign in sheets with contract sheets (maybe that was on purpose? Haha.) Beautiful venue for a wedding or quincinera that is easily accessible. read more

Where to begin?! My wedding was on 11.21.21 at this magnificent venue From the moment we walked in and toured the venue I knew this was our place. The pictures really do not do this ballroom justice, so I highly recommend seeing it for yourself. We toured a handful of places before Sans Souci but nothing came close! Our venue coordinator was absolutely the sweetest and helped us every step of the way. From helping us a great deal on the contract to assisting us the days leading up to our event with the ballroom set up, food tasting, and final walk through...just phenomenal! Like every big day, ironically something has to go wrong and for me, my wedding planner couldn't make it. I'm sooo thankful for my venue coordinator and the ladies at Sans Souci ballroom for stepping in and constantly reassuring me that they would make sure everything goes smoothly. And they did just that! They were not obligated to take on such a role, but noticing how distressed I was since my entire wedding was full of entertainment vendors, the amazing ladies took on the responsibility. Our wedding day was truly a dream come true and I wouldn't be able to say that if it wasn't for Sans Souci and their caring staff! Our guests were in complete AWE the second they walked into the venue and still talk about all the details till today. Customer service is at a high time low. Owner absolutely has no idea what they are doing. The price they charge for this venue you could pay for the top venue in Houston 3 times over and pay for all your vendors. If it weren't for talented vendors coming to turn the space into something special this venue has nothing to offer. Catering was horrific I literally was served my salad and never received my dinner. Thank god event had other food options later in the evening thanks to the planner. Lies were told about access to the venue early saying another event booked but no event was there on day before. This was a huge event that needed extra time for prep. That time was paid for but only allowed access in the middle of the night and still gave all vendors issues loading into the venue. Any other venue in this city that does not have an event prior usually grants that request. I would say over charged insanely for "early" access. Also had a photographer there taking photos for content and never told the client or coordinator that there would be their own media team. This is an invasion of privacy that was not communicated. Breached vendors contracts as well. What I can say for this venue to improve is for it to be bought by new ownership of someone who knows what they are doing and actually being present. read more

I traveled from Florida to Houston to attend a graduation ceremony for my good friend to receive her Doctrine. The room was filled with celebrity guest and state employees. The event was beautiful; however, they treated a room full of black esteemed guest like crap. The food they were paid to serve was atrocious, Tuna sandwiches slapped together, Dry meatballs and mind you we paid over $200 for a 3 course meal. They served used cake. And had the nerve to tell us no Comida! suddenly they didn't speak English. I have never seen anything so awful in my life as a professional and I have spoken at many events and venues. I would never patronize this event space and recommend you reconsider if you're of a certain race booking here. read more

This space was just beautiful. You can see the dome of the ballroom from the highway. There was so many chandeliers, I didn't know where to look! My friends wedding was held outside in the tent, walking in heels and the staggered stones was an issue. The bridal party even had issues walking down the aisle but no one fell so that's a plus! There was ample seating and fans so it was pretty comfortable in the in my opinion. After the ceremony we went into the ballroom for the reception where we waited in the lobby until it was ready. The chandelier was humongous! They played photos of the bride's on the giant screen and we ate hors d'oeuvre until we were able to be seated. The ballroom was grand, beautifully decorated, more screens for videos. They did a really great job picking a venue. read more

I just threw my marriage reception here on 10/30/21. I booked this reception hall back in December 2020. However, a couple months ago it was bought by a NEW OWNER(s), the guy in charge at the actual place's name is George. George has 0 to no customer service and wedding industry experience, especially in South Asian weddings. DURING MY OWN WEDDING RECEPTION, George had the audacity to demand more money, he also said he would call the cops, etc. He claimed 296 people showed up instead of 266, however there is NO WAY TO PROVE how this count is accurate (there is no name list, no photos, no signature, nothing). We had 266 seats, many of which were empty throughout the evening. Even if George was correct (which he wasn't) and more people showed up which would have been entirely beyond our control, I paid for an outside vendor to bring food, brought my own liquor, and the same number of seats and service staff were provided - there is NOTHING more the venue provided or had to do in the event that a few more people decided to come without informing us. Moreover, he has no more extra costs out of his pocket even if more people showed up. When this was relayed to George during our reception, his answer was he's "using more air conditioning", even though the evening was already very cold. To able to enjoy my own reception that my family had already paid tens of thousands of dollars for, I sent George another 2k online and 1k cash DURING my reception (alleged 30 extra people x 100dollar see screenshots). George is trying to save money in every way possible. For 266 guests and two bars, he had TWO BARTENDERS TOTAL (San souci provides the bartenders). ONLY ONE at each bar, although we were promised DOUBLE the amount when we signed our contract. All our guests were really upset with how long they had been waiting on liquor and on top of that, the bartenders were also asking for money before they agreed to pour alcohol to our guests. A huge embarrassment to my family and the venue itself. How can you call yourself a luxurious venue if you hire untrained, unprofessional, adolescent staff to man your events? Also, you can speak to any South Asian carter, you are supposed to put 1.2 or 1.3 times the guests for the amount of plates during a buffet. George with his complete lack of experience put out the exact number of plates for the guest count (266)..As the groom (who barely got to eat), I used two plates myself. During our dinner buffet, we EMBARASSINGLY ran out of plates and it took forever for them to restock because George would not put out more plates until he was paid to do so, and he also did not hire enough staff to restock them quick enough. I later found out that the valet staff was super rude (hired by San Souci) and was forcing people to pay before they park or get their keys back (see screenshots). The only good thing about this place is the ladies who work there when signing the contract, Lidi and Lisa. When you sign your contract, you will probably work with Lidi or Lisa. They are nice people BUT REMEMBER, on the day of your event you will be dealing with George!! No one will ever tell you that. Lidi and Lisa have ZERO SAY on the day of the event so do not fall into their nice personalities to sign the contract, as they are nice people but have no pull when it comes to George. I just want to remind everyone one more time that this all happened during the reception, stressed the bride & groom and I lost over an hour of my reception time dealing with George (I even texted him after my reception night, see text). I paid him in Zelle & cash to get him off my back so I can focus on my reception. Since our event, this experience has haunted me and my wife. We really can't think about how poorly we were treated. read more

I got married here 11-11-22. I toured the venue in March of 2021, and it was beautiful. Lisa was absolutely warm and welcoming! Our tasting went great, the food was delicious. On the day of my wedding rehearsal, a lot of things about the ceremony space looked absolutely different than how it looked when we toured the property. The tent was dirty and ripped up. The property just looked unkept. I was not sure if the property was under new ownership but it was not up to standard. My wedding day, was smooth. The only things about wedding day I had an issue with was the fact that one of the bartenders was getting intoxicated to the point of needing to constantly run to the bathroom and slurring their words. Multiple guest reported this to us. The bar lines were absolutely ridiculous because of the bartender needing to leave often. I also told the bartenders to not serve shots due to trying to maintain alcohol but they still did. I would also add that shots and beer kegs are prohibited in the contract. So whether or not guest asked for them did not matter. My request was not honored. God forbid someone were to have driven that night and hurt themselves it would have been a serious legal matter. I also requested my planner do a room reveal for me and my husband. Whoever runs Sans Souci's Instagram page decided to post the décor the same time of my wedding. So instead of having respect for the couple getting married they prioritized getting social media attention. I was reached out by them via DM that has been since "unsent". Not sure what that was about... Lisa, was great! She really made sure all of my needs were met. The only feedback we had would be to minimize conversations about other vendors with clients because with the wrong client it could come off as being unprofessional. But, again, Lisa really carries the weight of this venue and she literally made herself available for me at all times and that was just the biggest relief. Would we use Sans Souci again? Probably not, but we would take Lisa ANY day. read more

I had the privilege of filming a children's church online video at this venue. Right away I was impressed by how responsive the management team was. They answered right away and provided a call back in a timely manner when needed. When I arrived at the venue to film, I noticed immediately why this venue was recommended to me. It's breathtaking. It feels as if you literally stepped into a classic Disney princess movie. The venue was spectacular. The sparking chandlers and winding staircase makes you want to get married all over again. This space is also perfect for any event. I can imagine how amazing Christmas trees would gleam under the chandlers for a company party. I appreciated the safety precautions that were taken by all staff. Everyone was wearing a face covering and the venue was very clean. You don't want to pass up the opportunity to hold any even here. New owners completeIy ruined wedding. We gave the owners multiple opportunities to make things right but they would never call back my planner after calling George several times.Not sure where to even begin. The good reviews you see on google are from previous owners.The 1st wedding they did under new ownership gave them a 1 star review.Now i see we why. We asked them about the review and they assured us it was "nonsense" but after witnessing it myself its accurate.I don't think they have ever actually done weddings tbh.We paid over 40k for 180 people for venue ONLY and staff and thats us providing our OWN FOOD and ALCOHOL. After all said and done they got almost 50k. That's not including what we paid outside of the venue for food, entertainment,alcohol,vehicles,vendors, ect. Its $100 per person if you go over your initial count. For what? Who knows but they will keep reminding you its in the contract. They nickel and dimed us for EVERY single little thing.1st off they were extremely unorganized. Staff was standing around majority of the time.They let guests walk into the ballroom so guests saw me in my wedding dress before ceremony. I was mortified!Staff did same thing when we were taking family photos during cocktail hour.I booked this venue for the beautiful chandeliers (why we spared the expense of this ridiculous venue)Guess what?! The lights didn't work! It was either hideous fluorescent lights the entire time or this ugly dark red hue from other lights they managed to get working.Their excuse was that the DJ unplugged something and that's why they don't let people back there. 1st of all that is YOUR JOB to go back there and accompany entertainment to help them set up and make sure that nothing gets tampered with.Oh lord,the food! We spent over 6k on food for our guests and we didnt get to eat a single thing! They literally picked up FULL untouched plates. Guests didn't even get a chance to sit down b4 food was taken up.Bride/groom,wedding party and multiple guests didn't eat.Ones who did eat got full plates taken while they were still eating!Forks in hand! No exaggeration.Their rude response to guests was "we pick up food at 10 no exceptions so we can wash dishes". Even after my guests told them they werent finished they took plates anyway.Guests didnt tell me until the next day because they saw how chaotic and a mess everything already was.We had the venue until way later that night and our timeline ran late so the food shouldn't have been picked up until bride and groom or wedding planner says to do so!My wedding planner found out when she went back to eat staff had thrown out ALL THE FOOD.Bc they needed to "wash the dishes"they WASTED and threw out over 6k of untouched food that wedding guests and I didn't get 2 enjoy because the staff wanted to go home?!Disgusting! Funny bc They charged an outside catering fee bc like I said they charge u for everything.oh My photos ruined! I was so excited about bc i overpaid 4 this venue for its gorgeous chandeliers instead all my photos are hideous fluorescent lights or dark red. Nearly 50k paid for just venue and lighting didn't work,guests didn't eat and it was unorganized af.A business would have gave some money back to make things right.Instead we cant even reach the owner.Save your money and go elsewhere.Dont let ur wedding be ruined here.
