This was a super fun, hassle-free experience on a weekend trip to Santa Barbara. It is tucked away in a semi-industrial part of town, but don't let that fool you. They've got all kinds of different bikes and even guided tours. I was able to walk up and rent a bike in the morning without any problem. You can also make reservations and schedule things in advance. The price was reasonable and the bike was in good condition. They have maps with recommended rides and being Santa Barbara, there are few bad options. However if you do this, I would recommend going north. The e-bike revolution has really opened up so much of the biking world, including places that may have really only been accessible to the most hardcore bikers. With pedal assist, even the most fearsome hills are not that big of a deal for the average rider. I rode about 20 miles on my trip, which seems like a lot but wasn't really since I opted for the most powerful pedal assisted road bike. Of course, getting a simple cruiser is also an option if you just want to enjoy a nice ride. Super fun and, highly recommended. Five stars. read more

The tour exceeded my expectations. The reason I selected this one is that it went off the beaten path a bit instead of all the touristy areas. Customer service was good. EBikes we're in good conditions. Location wasn't too great. This rental place is a 12 min walk from the Hilton hotel. Not a good place to walk to with kids. Lots of transients on the way there. You'll eventually walk past a place called Path of Life which houses the homeless. They should consider delivery for their e-bikes to near by hotels. Bikes ran well and the staff helped us with making sure the bikes were adjusted properly for us, that we had a map and a lock, and knew what to do if we needed any help. We rented two cruisers to explore the Waterfront last weekend. The booking reservation form allowed me to specify the height of each rider, and fill out a waiver form in advance to speed out the check-out process on the actual day. Their 24-hr rental rate at $35 is such a reasonable price. Bike locks and helmets are provided if needed. Check-in was fast and easy. However, after a test ride, I asked the associate if he could fit me with a bike for my short arms and legs. (I'm only 5' 2".) He understood my situation and came back with a far more suitable bike. They also provided bike locks and advised us to keep the bikes indoors overnight. We then took the complimentary map of the Waterfront to get us on our way. Our self-guided tour using the map took us to the Bird Refuge, Butterfly Beach and the Coastal Villages in Montecito. SB has many bike paths and the motorists were all so patient with me! Many drivers stopped for me to cross the roads where there were no pedestrian and bike crossings. Biking allowed us to see SB in a fresh new way, and get some exercise along the way. We had such a good experience on our ride that we will most certainly be doing this again the next time we visit SB. Maybe we'll try their e-bikes next time and explore further aways from the Waterfront. read more

We went to Santa Barbara for the weekend and decided to get get go bike riding. We found this place close to our hotel. It's a few blocks from the beach so it was easy to access. It was my two year old first time being on a bike and they had both the car seat or attachement trailer option for her. We got the attachment for her and we got one regular cruiser bike and an electric bike. I started off with the cruiser and ended up switching with my husband riding the electric. That was my first time riding an electric bike and wow that was so much fun! It does more work for you so it's easier to ride. I actually want to get an electric bike now lol. My husband and I had an incredible time using SB Bikes to Go! We rode to the pier, along the beach, up and down State Street and more. We paid $35.00 per bike to use them all day and it was worth it. I used a bright pink one with a basket and my husband used a sage green one with a basket; the baskets were super convenient as we rode all over town. The best part is that SB Bikes To Go picked you our cruisers from our hotel & we didn't have to worry about riding back to their location. We will 100% use them again when we revisit Santa Barbara. Really great experience here. After doing some research, I booked my reservation online and could not be happier. First of all, their rates are much cheaper than any of the other bike rental places I saw in the area. Secondly, the location is great. When I arrived I was able to park directly on their lot, however the business is located in an industrial area that has plenty of street parking and minimal street traffic. Even if the lot was full I wouldn't worry about parking. And it's not like you'll have to squeeze into a small parallel spot on a busy street (something I always worry about when i see "street parking), the surrounding streets are small and sparsely traversed due to it being mainly industrial properties. Also, it's really nice getting on your bike and being able to ride off the lot and get accustomed to the bike/make any seat adjustments if necessary without immediately worrying about tons of cars whizzing by you. The bikes were high quality and kept in great condition, no squeaky springs or worn out handlebars or anything like that. The bikes came with baskets and they also gave us locks to use if we wanted to lock the bikes up. The customer service was very friendly, he gave us a map of the area and where we could bike to. Checking in and checking out could not be easier, with the online reservation I had already input our heights so when I showed up I just told him my name and showed him my confirmation and they already had two bikes set up perfectly for our heights waiting for us with our names on a post it. read more

Courteous reservation process. They answered all of my questions and gave good recommendations. Had to dock a couple of stars tho because they gave me a bike with a slightly deflated front tire. So I had to ride the 2 miles from my Airbnb all the way back to the shop to have that rectified, which completely altered my afternoon plans. You are spoiled for choice when it comes to bikes in SB, which is chock full of competition, so there's no reason to settle for less than stellar service. I've rented a few bikes and definitely SB Bikes To Go was the best. Their service was excellent and they were very efficient. We rented an all day bicycle ($35) and upgraded to tandem (+$10). Helmets/locks were provided and were cleaned. Check-in process was way easy and they even had an online waiver option (go green!). They made sure our seats were properly adjusted and everything was good to go before we left. Highly recommended to bike to the downtown area, chromatic gate, the beach, and even Stearns Wharf! (Totally worth it to bike the wharf rather than trying to go in by car with the crazy parking!) We rented two E-bikes from here for two hours under $90. One bike had an installed child seat and the other had a basket that held a small 15 lb dog. We had such a fun time and these bikes were so easy to use. We could go uphill with ease with these bikes! We saw amazing views of Santa Barbara and the Pacific Ocean. Rented a bike from this place during a day trip to Santa Barbara. Its our family's first time to ride on ebikes. I did not even know that this kind of bike exist. Where have I been all these years ? I was 12 the last time i remembered riding a bike. A traditional bike where you have to do a lot of pedaling and soak your shirt from sweat. Ebikes gives you the option to ride them as normal traditional bikes and or use the option to propel them using its electric motors. We had so much fun riding these ebikes along the beach.
