Customer service was good. EBikes we're in good conditions. Location wasn't too great. This rental place is a 12 min walk from the Hilton hotel. Not a good place to walk to with kids. Lots of transients on the way there. You'll eventually walk past a place called Path of Life which houses the homeless. They should consider delivery for their e-bikes to near by hotels. If you don't mind the walk consider renting close to areas by State street.

We rented two cruisers to explore the Waterfront last weekend. The booking reservation form allowed me to specify the height of each rider, and fill out a waiver form in advance to speed out the check-out process on the actual day. Their 24-hr rental rate at $35 is such a reasonable price. Bike locks and helmets are provided if needed. Check-in was fast and easy. However, after a test ride, I asked the associate if he could fit me with a bike for my short arms and legs. (I'm only 5' 2".) He understood my situation and came back with a far more suitable bike. They also provided bike locks and advised us to keep the bikes indoors overnight. We then took the complimentary map of the Waterfront to get us on our way. Our self-guided tour using the map took us to the Bird Refuge, Butterfly Beach and the Coastal Villages in Montecito. SB has many bike paths and the motorists were all so patient with me! Many drivers stopped for me to cross the roads where there were no pedestrian and bike crossings. Biking allowed us to see SB in a fresh new way, and get some exercise along the way. We had such a good experience on our ride that we will most certainly be doing this again the next time we visit SB. Maybe we'll try their e-bikes next time and explore further aways from the Waterfront.

We went to Santa Barbara for the weekend and decided to get get go bike riding. We found this place close to our hotel. It's a few blocks from the beach so it was easy to access. It was my two year old first time being on a bike and they had both the car seat or attachement trailer option for her. We got the attachment for her and we got one regular cruiser bike and an electric bike. I started off with the cruiser and ended up switching with my husband riding the electric. That was my first time riding an electric bike and wow that was so much fun! It does more work for you so it's easier to ride. I actually want to get an electric bike now lol. The staff was wonderful and super accommodating for me and my family. The staff was patient in getting us fitted and started. The rental process was a breeze. I most certainly will be back the next time I'm in Santa Barbara

My husband and I had an incredible time using SB Bikes to Go! We rode to the pier, along the beach, up and down State Street and more. We paid $35.00 per bike to use them all day and it was worth it. I used a bright pink one with a basket and my husband used a sage green one with a basket; the baskets were super convenient as we rode all over town. The best part is that SB Bikes To Go picked you our cruisers from our hotel & we didn't have to worry about riding back to their location. We will 100% use them again when we revisit Santa Barbara. In addition to all of the above, their service was superb. The gentlemen that helped us, Andrew and Elias were so kind and so sweet. Just what we/the world needs in these challenging times. Using their cruisers was probably our most fun day spent in SB. Thanks, Santa Barbara Bikes To Go, you guys are the best!

We were staying in Solvang so saved $10 per person by meeting at the starting point, Brander Vineyards (vs taking the van from SB), and he sent me info on what time to get there and where to park ahead of time. There was no time wasted on this tour. We got a quick info session on how to use the e-bikes - VERY easy! - and then got started. The 16-ish mile ride was easy on the e-bikes; the one thing I will say is that I'm grateful everyone on our tour chose them because it definitely would have been different if there had been people utilizing regular bikes on the uphill climbs. We stopped for rests and photos several times, including at a mini horse farm! My 17-year-old was with me and when we made our last stop at the lavender farm William grabbed him a lavender lemonade since he obviously couldn't partake in the wine tastings. Great service! Speaking of wine tastings, there were two included, and we also got some great souvenir water bottles with the brand name on them! The lunch - caprese-style sandwiches, side salad, and charcuterie boards - was also awesome. We also had an olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting toward the end, which was a really neat touch :) I can't say enough good things about this tour, especially for the price we paid. I did a tour in Sonoma last year that was more expensive and didn't include any wine tastings at all, and while I had a great time on that tour regardless, this one was above and beyond and I would do it again in a heartbeat!!!

This had been on our bucket list for years, and for Father's Day I finally surprised my husband,…read moreson, and his girlfriend with a trip. It was absolutely worth the 1 hour and 45 minute drive from our town! Parking: Free, plentiful, and conveniently close to the train station. Check-In & Service: We arrived early, and the check-in process was quick and easy. The staff were friendly and welcoming. After choosing our carts and loading our belongings, we had time to use the restroom before the ride began. It's easy to drive and if you don't feel like pedaling, the motor will do it for you -- no steering is required! Pro Tips Bring a Small Pillow This was a game-changer! We brought small pillows and placed them behind our backs, which significantly reduced vibration and made the ride much more comfortable. Thank you to the reviewer who suggested this--we had zero complaints. Bug Spray & Sun Protection Bring bug spray or insect repellent. The bugs weren't too bad during our visit, but it's nice to have. An umbrella can also provide extra shade if desired. Bring Water There is a cup holder on each cart, so staying hydrated is easy. Secure Loose Items Be careful when placing items in the cup holder. There's a small opening on one side, and smaller items can slip through. My bug spray fell out during the ride. Fortunately, there's also a basket available for purses and other belongings. Hair & Helmets If you have long hair, wear it down or in a very low ponytail so it fits comfortably under the helmet. Shoes Closed-toe shoes are highly recommended. Since you may be pedaling at times, it's possible to lose a loose-fitting sandal or flip-flop. Sunglasses Definitely bring sunglasses to protect your eyes from dust, wind, and the occasional bug. Restrooms & Snacks There is an opportunity along the route to purchase snacks and use the restroom (outhouse). Overall We had a fun time. One of our favorite parts was taking in the scenery, spotting native plants, and simply enjoying being outside. This was a unique experience and a memorable Father's Day outing that we'd happily do again

My wife and I wanted to do something different and fun for our wedding anniversary, and booking a…read moreride with Sunburst Railbikes turned out to be one of the best decisions we've made. We chose the 1 PM time slot, which is a 2-hour scheduled ride that includes two stops--one in Fillmore and another at Prancer's Farm on the way back. The ride was full with 16 guests, and the guides did a great job leading from both the front and back, making sure everyone felt comfortable and safe. Check-in was quick and easy, and they even provided complimentary popcorn and water, which was a nice touch before getting started. The ride itself was an absolute blast and definitely a solid workout--very similar to cycling, covering just under 10 miles round trip. The carts are super easy to use, with clear instructions from the guides. Each cart comes equipped with a front storage rack, cup holders, a hand brake (which you'll appreciate on the downhill!), an odometer, and a switch to toggle between manual and automatic. The assist mode really comes in handy on the uphill stretch heading toward Fillmore, while the ride back is a smooth and enjoyable downhill cruise. The weather couldn't have been better, and the scenery was incredible. Along the way, we took in beautiful views of avocado and lemon groves, cactus fields, and plenty of wildlife--squirrels, lizards, and even bees hard at work pollinating. It made the whole experience feel peaceful and immersive. On the way back, we stopped for about 20-30 minutes at Prancer's Farm, where we got to see a variety of animals including goats, pigs, bulls, and sheep. There's also a petting zoo option if you purchase tickets. The farm had a fun seasonal setup for Easter, along with a shop where you can buy fresh fruit, beef jerky, and other local goods. Overall, this was one of the most fun and unique experiences we've had. If you enjoy the outdoors, want a bit of adventure, and don't mind getting in a great workout, I highly recommend giving Sunburst Railbikes a try. Hopefully my photos--and this review--help you decide to book your own ride!

We had fun, got a workout and that machine is larger and heavy. Yesterday we got the two person surrey and it was better for the two of us. After an outstanding e-bike experience in Lake Tahoe (with Vista Trail Bikes) just a few weeks…read moreearlier, we decided to rent two e-bikes from Wheel Fun Rentals at the Ventura Pier. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst rental experiences I've ever had. The problems started before we even left. The bikes had to be swapped out due to mechanical and maintenance issues while we stood waiting. Once we received functioning bikes, there was no safety briefing, no route guidance, no discussion of local riding conditions, and no meaningful instructions beyond handing us the bikes. What was most alarming was the complete lack of concern for customer safety. My wife's seat had been adjusted too high. Within approximately ten feet of leaving the rental area, and in full view of three employees, she lost balance and fell directly onto the pavement. Not one employee came over to check on her, offer assistance, or ask if she was injured. Nothing. Despite this, my wife wanted to continue riding, so we attempted to salvage the experience. The bikes themselves were poorly maintained, and our confidence in the equipment and operation was gone almost immediately. My bike kept changing E levels throughout the short ride. We returned the bikes in less than two hours despite paying for a four-hour rental. When asked how our experience was, I honestly replied that it was terrible. The response? "That's too bad." No concern. No questions. No apology. No attempt to understand what went wrong. From the condition of the bikes to the lack of safety procedures, customer service, and basic human concern, this operation felt careless and unprofessional from top to bottom. I would never rent from this location again, and I certainly would not feel comfortable bringing children or inexperienced riders here. There are plenty of places to rent bikes. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend choosing one of them instead.

Santa Barbara was a bucket list stop for my girlfriend, and we booked the 2:00 p.m. trolley tour…read morehoping for a well guided introduction to the city's history and landmarks. Unfortunately, it ended up being one of the more disappointing parts of the trip. The seating is tightly packed. I understand maximizing capacity, but at 6'6" it was not comfortable. We moved to the front right side where there is a sideways bench behind the driver, which offered more legroom. That felt like a smart move until we realized most of the sights being pointed out were on the left side of the trolley. It felt like about 80 percent of the tour was oriented that direction, which meant we were constantly twisting around and still missing details. If you book this tour, sit on the left side. The narration also felt disorganized. The driver mentioned he was reading the traffic flow incorrectly and ended up doing much of the route "backwards." Because of that, he would introduce a historical figure or landmark, then later circle back and partially repeat the same information when reaching his usual talking point. There was noticeable repetition and filler instead of a smooth, cohesive storyline. Midway through the tour, there is a stop at Mission Santa Barbara for about 15 minutes. While it is nice to get off and stretch your legs, 15 minutes is nowhere near enough time to meaningfully experience the mission. You can walk through the courtyard and take a few photos, but that is about it. The mission deserves more time than a quick pass through. In practice, the stop felt more like a checkbox than a real opportunity to explore. Another frustration was departure time. The 2:00 p.m. tour did not leave at 2:00. The driver waited past the scheduled time to see if additional passengers would join. When you are visiting from out of town and carefully stacking your schedule, those extra 10 to 15 minutes matter. Overall, for about $30 per person, I expected a more polished and better organized experience. We both left disappointed. If you want a meaningful introduction to Santa Barbara, you may be better off exploring key spots on your own at your own pace.
