We had our wedding reception at SB Courthouse Distillery, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish! From the moment we began planning, Melody, our event coordinator, was incredibly responsive and made the entire process effortless and enjoyable. She kept everything on track and answered all our questions quickly, which took a huge load of stress off our shoulders. On the day of the event, Andrew, the event manager, was onsite and went above and beyond to ensure every detail was exactly how we wanted it. Having the option to set up the day before and pick up the following day was a total game-changer and made everything so much easier. The bar team was fantastic. Matt, our bar manager, was not only kind and helpful but made the best old fashions and whiskey sour we've ever had. Matt even stepped in as an impromptu DJ by connecting his own phone to the Bluetooth so our guests could dance all night long. Peyton, the second bartender, was wonderful too, also making amazing whiskey sours and shooters. The location itself is perfect. It's close to the courthouse with such a welcoming and stylish atmosphere. Our guests can't stop raving that the food was hands down the best wedding food they've ever had. Highly recommend the braised short ribs!! To top it off, the pricing was the most fair and reasonable compared to every other venue we checked out. We received well beyond what we expected and cannot recommend SB Courthouse Distillery enough to anyone looking for the ideal wedding venue with exceptional staff who truly care. Thank you to everyone who made our day so special!

Right next to the Turtle fountain. There are tables outside to sit/eat/drink at. Inside and Upstairs there are more tables.

Every exhibit actually keeps them engaged not just looking, but doing. The interactive tables (like the spinning drum and dice games) were a hit. My kids didn't want to leave and kept going back to the same stations. It's also really clean, organized, and easy to navigate even with little ones. Pricing was reasonable for what you get abbout $25 for adults, $20 for kids, and under 2 is free, which is nice. Staff was friendly and everything felt well-maintained. You can tell they designed this place with kids in mind but adults still have fun too. Definitely a solid family day trip spot from LA. Would come back again

I figured out it was the Moxi. I guess it make quite the impression on her last year. The museum had some new exhibits this time around. They added a fun ball launcher that I also enjoyed as well. The water exhibit could use some love. Some of the hydraulic levers was either not working or you had to really work at it. My toddler was not strong enough to use them. One thing I like is that we were able to leave and come back after lunch. We got to make the most if our trip. I'm sure we'll ge back next year.

Stopped by this place on a recent visit to Santa Barbara…read more Not a lot of positive to say, but not bad enough to give it one star. That's for the worst of the worst. There was an indoor area, and we didn't know at the time, but there are separate outdoor waiter service areas and counter service. We did counter service. There were two people at registers. There was literally no one in front of us and no marked nor even obvious line area. Naturally we stand a few feet in front of one of the registers waiting for her to say, "can I help you" before we move to. Instead the woman (to make it worse, I think she was the patio manager because she was older than the others and seemed to be doing more things than just working a register) gives us the, "I need you to wait in the line area over there" and points to a barrel with no indication that it's a line. You know like the old David Spade skit. This already left a bad taste in my mouth because again there was no line marked, no one waiting, and it's not like we got up in her space or were being pushy. She was just power tripping. To make it worse, we came here because they literally have "full bar" painted on the outside of the building, and the other places around are mostly wine bars or beer gardens. BUT (keep reading)... One of the young people working calls us from the "line of just us" to help us (because of course the other woman wasn't going to). They have 3 specialty margaritas listed. I ask if I can just get a "regular margarita". She says "no because they only sell pre-made drinks". Uh, what about the FULL BAR? Then we sit down. They have a few long picnic bench style tables. They all had a party at them but they were big so we asked a group if we could share the opposite end. The other customers were cool and had no problem with it. BUT... There were no napkins nor condiments. When our food arrived, it was mediocre. We left unhappy but didn't make a fuss. As we were leaving, the power tripping woman thanked us for coming as if she hadn't just been a total B to us for no reason.

One of the neatest reclaimed spaces I've ever seen…read more The Mill may appear as new construction, but the main building has actually been present for many decades to my knowledge. It was recently beautifully refurbished into an oasis of an artisan strip mall and offers surprises both inside and out. The venue is wonderfully landscaped and offers great curb appeal, with ambient lighting and drought tolerant vegetation. The parking area is small but there are reserved spaces in a lot across the street where Low Pigeon Coffee is located. The exterior retains its original "mill" charm with natural wood siding and large industrial windows. You'd have no idea it housed several businesses from the front and that is what I appreciate. The facade was kept to look like how it always has, so it remains in tune with the neighborhood rather than sticking out like a sore thumb. You'll find the coolest courtyard just beyond the entrance which is shared by all businesses. It is well lit and offers ample seating and a few clean restrooms. I've been when there is live music and it's the ideal place to enjoy a beverage under the evening sky. There are a handful of small businesses occupying The Mill. I love the vibe of Potek Wine, the interior is intimate and the exposed barrels make for a nice backdrop. I'd say the star of the show is the Third Window Brewing which offers a large main room along with a secondary private patio and a rotating restaurant which varies from their in-house menu to nightly popup dining. A great vibe overall.
