First off, terrible personality by the service writer. Completely acted as if all of the minor issues on my warrantied vehicle were not issues. I wanted them to Look at them so they can either fix them or notate the issue exists. Second off double the price of any other dealer in the area. I know they give an estimate but it usually by far OVERestimated... not this time... lastly they did nothing extra on my oil change. No wash ( I kind of get) they didn't check tire pressure they didn't check battery voltage. I will never trust Santa Monica GMC ever again! J@ff sucks!! What a rip off!! SM GMC is a rip off!! There are a lot of people who can sell a car. Kwesi Da-Costa ("Vroom") is a rare type of person who genuinely earns trust. I met Kwesi during a Hummer test drive at Santa Monica GMC, and he was immediately different--warm, unforced, genuinely kind. Not the typical "dealer-friendly." Just real. What mattered most is what happened later: I didn't even buy my Hummer there, but when I showed up for a service appointment and got turned away because the department was overloaded, Kwesi saw me and refused to let me get brushed off. He stepped in, owned the situation, and got it handled. He got my vehicle taken in and set me up with a brand-new 2026 Hummer rental, which turned a frustrating day into an easy one. When I picked my vehicle up and a couple of pieces weren't installed properly, Kwesi didn't minimize it. He genuinely cared, felt responsible for the experience, and made sure it was corrected the right way. That's the thing: Kwesi doesn't just "help"--he follows through to completion. He takes pride in doing right by people. Because of him, I honestly don't want to buy anything other than a GMC as long as there are people like Vroom involved. If you're going to Santa Monica GMC, ask for Kwesi Da-Costa ("Vroom"). This would be a 5-star review if not for being turned away from my appointment initially and the attempt to return my vehicle without the service access covers properly installed. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. THEY WILL! This relates to service dept. It is an absolutely terrible mismanagement, scheduling, and not performing the repairs properly. They kept my car for about a month for relatively small repairs. I even gave them plenty of time as I was going on vacation, only to come back several days later to find out the car hadn't been touched! The car was supposed to have been already done before my arrival. They explained that they didn't have rack to lift the car. What kind of dealership is this? I know they're small, but still, if you can't do the repair don't hold the car. It took another week to get it done. And the work is absolutely terrible. After charging my warranty company, which is sold by the same dealership and is a terrible one (DON'T BUY VERITAS), over $6000, and keeping my car for about a month, the transmission problem still persist, and the alignment that should have included rotating the tires before the alignment was done without rotating. I asked Jeff, the service advisor and he said car was tested and was driving ok. I didn't have a driving problem. My car wasn't pulling. But the tires were being eaten on the inside much faster. I talked to a couple of people in sales and they all had terrible things to say about the service dept, from the manager, Dale to advisors to technicians. Overall a horrible service from the management to advisor to repair. Don't get stuck at this place. I only took it there since I bought that terrible warranty plan from them, hoping that a dealership sold warranty serviced by the same dealership would be smooth. It was anything but that. Just terrible. Don't go there for service, or even purchase since they sell terrible warranty plan. read more
