They came out for what I thought was a fairly straightforward job, but instead of rushing through it, they took the time to carefully inspect my roof and pointed out multiple issues that had been overlooked. They found missing and improperly installed components, workmanship problems, and several areas that should have been addressed when my home was built. As a homeowner, it's frustrating to discover these kinds of issues only 3 years later. My experience with the original construction and inspection of my Clayton home left me with a lot of unanswered questions, because many of these problems should never have made it past a final inspection. What impressed me most about Tim and John was that they didn't just point out the problems--they explained everything clearly, fixed the issues correctly, and made sure I understood what they were doing every step of the way. They were extremely quick to come out and provide a quote, even an electronic option to approve the quote given. But, this is where the positives end. I approved my electronic quote and expected a call to schedule service. Two days later I followed up with a phone call. Now, here we are almost 12 days from the quote approval and 3 calls and 2 voicemails later I final get a call back. Unable to complete service for over a week and no explanation as to why I didn't receive a call back, only a half sincere apology. I would never recommend this place to anyone who expects a decent level of customer service and follow up. It's a shame, because pricing was competitive.

While he was doing that I mentioned we needed the house pressure washed. He stated he could do that and fix some caulk issues at the same time. We agreed on a price. I pointed out a specific issue with caulk while we were talking and asked that he fix any caulk issues he found. My expectation was that he would actually look at the caulk over the entire house. He did not. He did the work when I was not at home so when I returned I asked him about what I could easily see from the ground as unfinished work. I wanted him to come back and do it right. His response was to offer me a $50 discount, meaning I needed to go find someone else and pay them to do what he didn't. We went back and forth by text with him becoming more angry and dismissive. Attached are photos of the work he did (or didn't do). His task was to pressure wash the house and fix any caulk issues. You can see for yourself the quality of his work. All of the guttering has black lines clearly visible from the ground so someone on a 40 foot ladder at eye level would have known it was dirty. The soffit face is dirty. The siding is still dirty. Several windows still have black on the bottom. Integrity shows through when nobody is looking. My experience shows me that Mr. Jessup doesn't have or demonstrate any. His blaming a customer for unfinished work does show he takes no pride in doing a good job. Update: Entire message thread posted in photos. If you are going to do the job, do the job. If not, don't take the money. I never offered to hire someone else. Read the text. I said your telling me you would give me $50 off was the same as you telling me you were not interested in finishing the job and to go hire someone else. I clearly told you I was not looking for a discount, that I wanted the work done. Either you are going to do the job or you aren't. Stop blaming me because it isn't clean and caulked. My end of the deal was paying you $370 which I have absolutely done. Your end is the one one still not complete.

Marlon and his team were tasked with a HUGE job, spanning through the entirety of the whole house, and including numerous drywall patches, electrical fixes and installations, and some plumbing. Marlon not only did a phenomenal job with EVERYTHING we asked for, but he did it for a very reasonable price. Marlon and his team were on-time every day they came out, were very productive during the time they were here, and communicated with us every step of the process for the 4 days they were here. Additionally, they cleaned up after themselves very well at the end of each day! I feel that Marlon is an honest, hard-working, knowledgeable contractor with a depth of expertise in numerous different areas. Not a fan at all. My…read morebasement had flooding issues and when I tried to bring this to my elderly parents' attention, they somehow decided to finish the basement, despite the musty smell and this seasonal flooding for 20 years. I was hoping that maybe Hivex would identify this issue and maybe back me up on this point before they fully converted it to a rentable living space. But they didn't. We then got a huge rain which left visible signs of flooding and standing water on the basement floor. When I told my Dad, he said it was due to Hivex mopping the floor. I was certain that Hivex would help clear this up and attribute the water to the recent storms. They didnt--they confirmed (lied?) to my dad that it was due to their mopping a few days prior. So then they started installing the framing for the drywall, despite the smell and standing water. I knew the project was doomed at this point because once the drywall went up, that moisture would be sealed off behind it and the mold would just flourish. That's when we got the biggest storm in Spring of 2025 which resulted in catastrophic flooding of the basement, leaving zero doubt about the flooding. (This is also a common-sense issue in our area, which has heavy clay soil). We hired a basement moisture company to deal with the seasonal flooding but we had to remove the framing to install the dewatering trench at the base of the wall. At this point, they were really behind schedule. The price was outrageous. Over $80K. My friend just finished his basement and oversaw the drywall, electrical work, cabinetry, etc. He did his basement, which is larger, for around $20,000. The mark up was huge and I was really expecting more. Hivex is for people who love to spend money. Little things they missed: 1. Basement door will not lock and the GC never coordinated with the basement moisture people as to who's fault this was. I thought the GC was supposed to solve things like this and not let things fall through the cracks? 2. Ceiling fan is supposed to reverse during the cold months. This feature is broken which really sucks in the winter time, when all the warmth stays on the ceiling. 3. Faucet was really loose and I had trouble correctly tightening it. Frustrating for a few weeks as it gradually loosened and I had to keep fixing it. 4. The reverse pump for the bathroom was not even sealed. There was a visible gap on the lid of this device and the smell was AWFUL for a few weeks. My aging parents cant smell anything so they just said I was crazy. After a few weeks of this smell, they finally had someone come to seal it. This worker seemed very honest and he said it was bad they missed this. Nasty Hivex. 5. They have really bad deals and poor quality when it comes to their cabinetry and kitchen design options. (Cheap stuff designed to maximize profits). They also refuse to work with whatever company you went with for the cabinets/hardware/faucet. Again, whats the point of the GC if they arent coordinating with everyone? We went with IKEA and it was SO chaotic and horrible. Its basically an automated company at this point.
