On the contrary, we've received extraordinary customer service (Hats off to Manager Vera) on a number of changes to family accounts and legal matters. She has been nothing but extraordinary. The physical bank itself is a pleasure to deal with, huge teller and office area, big front lobby for the inside ATM, two outdoor lines for the outside ATMs. Convenient when we need to get foreign currency for trips to Canada or England. I think sometimes people are so quick to blast service industries for crappy customer service, that we overlook the opportunity to praise individuals or businesses for excellent customer service. That's why I wrote this..

In two separate branches we were denied access to our deposited funds because the first branch did not have the personnel on site to set up a new account for his estate because that person was in sabbatical for a month. We now had to track down and make an apportionment with someone covering for him at another branch further from my home. When we reached the branch we were met by the same excuse. All we wanted to do was close the accounts and get a check because of the incompetence of the first branch. Now we were face with a "covering assistant manager" who didn't have the authority to release my father's account, even though we had the proper documentation to do so. They basically said it would take 3 business days (5 days with the weekend) to mail the check. When I confronted her with the obvious truth of BOA purposefully delaying transactions due to their own internal policies and lack of authority at local branches and I asked if a Manager could release our funds, she gave an obfuscated answer dodging the question. One has to wonder how much money they make from these delays. My dad did have an account with Northwest Community Bank and they handled our request in 15 mins. Total time at BOA was 2 hours and.....nothing but, "I'm really sorry". We'll be filing complaints with the Attorney General and the Banking commission.

I had a very disappointing experience with this bank's fraud department. After reporting what I…read morebelieved to be fraudulent DraftKings transactions, I was contacted by the fraud team and told the activity was suspicious. I was issued provisional credits while the investigation was underway. Without proper notice, those credits were later reversed after my claim was denied. The funds were removed on a Thursday before a bank closure and limited Saturday hours, leaving my family of four with very little money for food, gas, and basic necessities for the week. What was most frustrating was the lack of communication. I spent days trying to get answers, being transferred between departments and unable to speak with someone who could explain the decision. I was eventually told by a Vice President of Fraud that I should never have received the provisional credits in the first place. The entire experience left me feeling as though my concerns were not taken seriously and that my honesty was being questioned. Whether a claim is approved or denied, customers deserve timely communication, transparency, and access to support when their finances are affected. I hope the bank reviews its fraud procedures and improves the way it communicates with customers facing these situations.

There are 7 offices of NWCB in Litchfield county, and we are under the umbrella of CMHC Connecticut Mutual Holding Company with 2 other community banks - Litchfield Bancorp and Collinsville Savings Society. Honestly, a 100% better experience than any commercial or competitor bank, we offer generally competitive and sometimes lower rates, less fees, one-on-one NO-FEE customer service with happy customers. A much easier and hassle free way of managing personal, and business banking. The only pitfall is that we have local ATM's, and restricted locations! Great if you're settled down in the area, but we do accommodate to travel and have dedicated customers throughout the country.

One was for a raffle for cookware another from a gym membership and another for a VPN account. The next day we went to the bank and cancelled the card and got a replacement. They bank could not do anything with the transactions at the time because they were "Pending" We left the next day for vacation and returned a week later and went to the bank to fill out the fraudulent claim paperwork. Approximately 10 days later we received letters saying they were valid transactions. We then called Liberty and they said they would send us the docs involved in them calling valid transactions. Never got them. Called again and basically told them "why would come to bank the next day, cancel my card, get a new one, then the same day we get back from vacation go to the bank to fill out paperwork. For my health? So Liberty Bank is relying on some fraudulent data they got instead of an life long customer. Unfortunately Liberty is the only bank in my town and if there was one called Joe's Bank or Not safe Bank I would pull my accounts in a minute. All the good this bank fid for me over the past 50 years went away when they believe some fraudulent person and not a life long customer. Stay Away if you want to keep your money safe.
