That was a company culture that everyone had, from the teller to the Member Services Manager. Everyone cared and wanted to do a great job. They were a 5-star institution. This is what kept me banking with them for 26 years. Today, as I was depositing two large checks from government organizations, one of them was declined. In the past, they never declined these checks. As they called the manager in to review, the manager had no interest in understanding the structure of the check, or educating themselves about checks from the State of California. To a greater extent, I felt my credibility was at stake, as there was no interest in the fact that I've been with the credit union for 26 years. Why would a member with a longer history at the branch than their work history for the organization want to give them a check that was no good? That was a quiet insult. The only difference I see is the leadership, and it's evident as the management lacks a willingness to help. Their credit union health score has taken a hit in recent years and that may have something to do with it. If you are looking for a great community bank, with staff that will go out of their way to help you with your banking needs, keep looking.

She must have fixed about 2 dozen problems in the past 5 years for our family. We moved from New England to North Carolina 2 years ago and at the time, I refused to close my account because Nancy was outstanding at addressing any issue that I have incurred. I loved the personal attention and how supportive she was. I had lost my 17 year old son and had to close his account (she handled everything with class and compassion), setting up a first time checking account for my younger son ( helping him figure out what to do) also I have had issues with fraudulent charges (she figured it out and addressed it promptly while I was 800 miles away), dealing with an auto loan while out of state when our car died, (she had it done within 1 day), bank cards lost or stolen, and the list goes on!! I hope whomever reads this from the bank, realizes what an incredible asset Nancy M. is and after having to finally close the account after 3 decades, I only wanted her to handle it. She did with a hug and best wishes. I will miss this bank more than I will miss many things from up north. The personal service from Nancy meant the world to me. I'm divorced but me and my ex had a joint account so I could direct deposit child support for my…read moreson. 1) my ex wife's account was hacked 2) They closed the account and said we would need to reopen another joint account. Windsor location told us that we would both have to be present at the same time to open another account. Well, this is nearly impossible since we don't live near each other. I was told to come down with the paperwork even after I told them we couldn't be present together. When I did, they refused to open another joint account even though they had all of the required credentials. What a waste of my time. Guess they don't care about my kid eating. Now I know why they're not recognized by BBB: They're just not familiar with their own policies (their employees need to be trained). You can't tell me for a second that they can t set up a joint account for two people living in different states without them being there in person together. Inconsiderate brain dead employees who can't read past the 1st three sentences of their own policies. Unbelievable. Do yourself a favor and find another bank!

The hours are great they recently increased the hours so it's very convenient for me. My dog loves the drive thru because she always gets a bone and there's lollipops for the kids too. I don't go inside too often but when I do everyone is friendly to me and the line is never more than one or two. Once in a while I get a free notarization. They do have an investment specialist there but I haven't needed that. Interest rates are low everywhere so it's not worth talking about. I do have a free checking account so that's nice. I've never had a problem with them there so I can say you should give them a try. Large parking lot in back and right in the center of Windsor. Oh yeah, they always have free coffee inside. Now if only rates would go back up I'd be a happy camper. I remember in the 80's you could get cd's yielding 12% maybe higher! Now it's a joke.

I am thinking that they are catering to customers who have a MUCH LARGER INCOME. Last year Liberty Bank wasn't charging any fees for having a min. account balance of $1000.00. I think it is time to check around. They are all electronic now, so it is not like you have to wait for a check to clear.
