Cute store for buying Marzipan in central square of Taledo. As you roam the streets of Taledo, you'll notice several store fronts advertising Marzipan. My friends and I checked out couple of them (didn't get a good feeling in other stores). Finally, entered Santo Tomé. Inside made us feel happy. All of us bought small sample bag (4 pieces). Line wasn't long at that time. After coming out, I opened the bag and tried one piece. WOW! I went back inside to buy another small bag for back home. This time I encountered a very long line. The first bag is already finished. If you love Marzipan, then this is a good store to buy it from. The only suggestion for the store is to offer samples. Then more people will become buyers.

Toledo seems to have a bunch of marzipan shops around - some sweet stuff made of sugar and almonds. Even nuns make it! I stopped in this hop on the square to have a look and also bought a couple small bags of marzipan to try; well I didn't need to try it since I already know what marzipan tastes like. The shops was nice, bright colors and a handful of customers inside. It was good but nothing special.

I bought some marzapan treats here since that's one of the specialties of Toledo. There were a few marzapan shops in the Plaza de Zocodover area and chose this one since they had a cool marzapan castle in the window. I have an obsession with French macarons and ordered one of each flavor as soon as I saw them. The macarons were crunchy and stale, plus I wasn't a huge fan of the marzapan. Ahhh what a dissapointment! It also wasn't worth the high prices.

This is not worth the wait or calories that will be consumed. One worded descriptions: The food- DISGUSTING Their favorite color of every dish- BROWN Service- RUDE More in-depth description: I hate wasting food but I couldn't finish even half of every plate I got. They start you off with bread on the table that looks fake. It's as hard as a brick and the inside of it was dense. The "paella" looked like leftovers, filled with chicken bones, seafood shells and rice. I wouldn't even call it paella but instead "flavored rice" I got the "pollo asada" but it was obviously not grilled. Thy tried covering it with some brown sauce. It was dry and tasteless. It came with potato wedges/French fries that were burnt to hell and tasted terrible (I love potatoes and fries but I couldn't do it) For dessert I got Flan... it wasn't smooth. It might as well have been a wet cake that tasted like there was something burning in the oven. Best part of the meal: Coca Cola and the whipped cream from the dessert (aka nothing made in the restaurant) This restaurant goes for quantity over quality. They try to serve many people but give crappy food. Their main revenue is from the tourist packages people buy.

A Must-Visit in Madrid! If you are looking for the…read morequintessential Spanish churros experience, Chocolatería San Ginés is an absolute must. From start to finish, the experience was flawless. * The Food: The churros were absolutely perfect--wonderfully crispy on the outside and light on the inside. Paired with their signature rich, delicious chocolate for dipping, it is pure heaven. * The Atmosphere: Walking inside, the establishment is beautifully air-conditioned, providing a fantastic, cool escape from the Madrid heat. * The Service: Despite how busy they get, the staff was incredibly welcoming, and the service was exceptionally prompt. We didn't have to wait long at all to dive into our treat. An iconic spot that completely lives up to the hype. Highly recommended!

Based on the definitive opinions of travel vloggers, this appeared to be the place to get the fabled chocolate con churros. Jamie W and I made our way here through the labyrinth of streets near Puerta del Sol. It was early evening so no surprise there was a queue, but it moved quickly because this historic place was a model of efficiency. It's the type of place where you need to be ready to order the moment you're in front of the hostess. Luckily, we had made mental notes of what to order from one particular vlogger, so we were ready. It only took a minute to secure one of their marble cafe tables. Our order arrived fairly quickly. It consisted of a 2,5€ plate of Churros, six long sticks of chewy, delicious dough. Unlike the Mexican version, it wasn't dusted with sugar because the 3,7€ cup of Hot Chocolate was more than enough (Photo 8). Incredibly rich and only lightly sweetened. The churros might've been enough for a neophyte, but we double-downed with a 2,5€ order of two Porros (Photo 7). Porras are a thicker, doughier version of churros, so of course, they were our favorites because they really held the chocolate with assurance. Even though we went through two cups of hot chocolate, we still had 2,4€ cups of Cafes con Leche to wash it all down (Photo 10). It was an ideal dessert experience because who doesn't love awesome doughnuts? Definitely a must-gorge when in Madrid. FOOD - 5 stars...the motherlode when it comes to chocolate con churros...get the porros AMBIANCE - 4 stars...crowded but historically atmospheric with enough elbow room SERVICE - 4 stars...speedy TOTAL - 5 stars...pretty essential Madrid experience RELATED - Exploring Madrid?
