Burger King are a muti-billion pound company but as a whole they haven't reached that level of fame…read morein the UK, and seem more poorly managed here, and this store is an example of that. I have been meaning to review this store for a while, located near enough inbetween Santander and Lloyds Bank on Mosley Street in Piccadilly Gardens, the branch is a little small considering it is one of the main branches serving Manchester city centre, and is quite a wide yet short store, with limited seating. The staff didn't seem too friendly, and just the typical staff you would associate with a fast food chain. The gluten free situation here is very poor, with the only gluten free options being a side salad with no dressing, applesauce and french fries, even the hash browns have gluten in, which is poor show, even they wouldn't be classed as gluten free just without wheat due to contamination issues being highly likely, making this a place to avoid for coeliacs, but it is a place to avoid if you are gluten free anyway, joining KFC in being the worst fast-food chains for gluten free options, but as a coeliac at least I can have the fries here! Overall, this Burger King branch isn't really nice, with limited seating, the only thing that makes it stand out in a nice, welcoming way is the sign, but as you walk in it changes to the dramatic opposite, so with so many places in Manchester sadly I don't feel why someone would chose to go to this one due to all poor aspects of the store mentioned, warranting a single one star.

I have a confession to make... With previously working across the road from Slice for 18 months it…read morebecame my 'go to' place any time i felt slightly hungry. At around £2.50 a Slice of fantastic Rome pizza, you knew you were getting a quality product - even if a wheatgrass and sushi shack would have probably been better for my waist (and heart!) The nice thing about Slice is that it's informal enough to be able to pop into for a quick slice or two, maybe an espresso or a beer and they've really nailed it when it comes to offering that laid back continental vibe that you don't really get in other UK informal eateries. Even though it's "fast food" it's all made onsite by the owners/bakers and there must be around 10 different pizzas you can get which means there's always something different to have each time. My personal favourite is the ham and leek - it's an absolute treat! It does however look like they're starting to diversify and maybe look at becoming slightly more formal in the back of the store. There's a lovely little bar in the back - nicely stocked doing Italian wine, cocktails and beers - I just hope it's visible enough for people to discover as I thought it was a real find! Slice is great if you're hungry before meeting friends, to sit outside if it's a sunny day or to get quality takeaway as opposed to just some rubbish kebab shop pizza. These guys deserve to do well as they're offering something that little bit different so make sure you check it out!

Finally got round to trying Slice after passing by countless times both drunk and sober. I've heard…read moreit's a brilliant spot for a couple of slices after a few beers and I think in the back of my head I thought that meant it may not be that good to a sober palete - but it was! I had 4 slices (well 2 slices cut in half) of the Salami pizza and it was nice enough and hit the spot, however I feel the quality is sub par compared to other NQ heavy hitters! I think price wise its on the higher end for what you get which is another reason for the 3 stars. Having said this, as I left Slice after sitting inside and finishing off some work before an event, I passed some lucky folk enjoying the afternoon sunshine with a nice beer and few slices - now that is star climbing material! I think the outdoor seating area is a cool spot to people watch and wind down after a long day so I will definitely be doing that soon! Slice is good, but I think on this first visit, it's just good - not great. Yet.

Situated on the corner of High Street (right next to Odd), it may not look like much from the outside, but inside you can get two delicious Chicken Samosas for £1, which - when served straight from the deep fat fryer - taste like curried nirvana after a cocktail or twelve. Its front is also covered with rather faded posters proclaiming it to serve the "best kebabs in Manchester", a bold claim that I'm unable to verify considering I've never tried them. However, if you're looking for something more substantial, they also do some serious tasty 3-curries-for-£3 deal which is just the thing to line your stomach after a night on the tiles. If you're feeling exotic, they also allegedly serve Quail, Venison and Duck curry, which is just the thing for the more adventurous palette wishing to try some exotic delights on a pauper's budget.

Because smack dab in the middle of all the pandemonium lies Hunters. Think you're the only one with this equilibrium problem? Walk on in past midnight on Friday and Saturday night and look around. So many others inside to empathize with you! Oh wait, that girl's on the floor trying to Shazam her own singing into her iPhone. Ignore her. And what is everyone besides the girl on the floor feverishly noshing on? So hungry, everyone is! Look closer. Anything from fish n chips to burgers to pizza to curry. All in one place, run by a friendly, and from what I've seen, very, very patient staff with a quick and efficient way of moving the line right along. I've only been here to grab something to go late at night, so I've only witnessed Hunters full of people as lit up as the sky on New Years. Including a short fellow who was super appreciative upon receiving his pizza: "You don't understand. I thought you'd overlook me because I'm short and you'd give my pizza to someone else! And then I'd be standing here without a pizza. Thank you so, so, much. I am really happy right now." "We would never overlook any of our customers, sir. You are very welcome." How heartwarming was that interlude? Anyway, I've had a few items here - chicken kebabs with chips, and chicken biryani. Both were serviceable and the prices very reasonable, which is pretty much all you could ask for after midnight. That said, true to their name - they also serve something that differentiates them from most other ethnic late night joints: game curry. Partridge, pheasant, venison, quail, rabbit, and duck. All on offer. Now, I've had most of the game described above at one time or another in my life, but in a curry? Never even heard of the said lot being in a curry before. My mum's been holding out on me with the rabbit makhani all this time, apparently. I am definitely intrigued, though. Intrigued enough to wander in at 1am and try some quail korma? We shall see. 3 stars for now. PS. Girl on the floor is still mad her Shazam keeps returning "no match found." Don't have the heart to tell her she's not a singer.
