I went for my cleaning today. As usually they had all new staff except for Vicky who has been the…read moremost helpful staff member over the years. I tried to keep an open mind and go with the new people. Everything was going well, and I meet the new dentist. They tried to charge me for the fluoride treatment even though its covered. The real problem started when I tried to Scheule my next cleaning in 6 months. The office Manager I think her name is Carissa informs me that I had to have 3 more clean in this year or they would not continue my cleanings. My insurance only pays for 2 a year so I explain to her that I am the patient, and I only want 2. After a few minutes of a very intense conversation, I Explained that I have had that same cleaning done there for the last 7 years and they have never required me to have 4 cleaning a year. She threatened to call the police if I didn't leave. The new dentist came out and ask if he could help and Office Manager Carissa came back up to the counter and told us both that this is her office, and she run the way she wants and she would not schedule my cleaning unless I did 3 more this year. Needless to say, I WILL NOT BE RETURNING!

The way he explained, showed it to me on my ex Ray that pops up on the screen right in front of the chair. He also drew out out the next procedure on a paper diagram. A picture that was worth a thousand words. The modern equipment impressed me. So did the the waiting area and exam rooms. Very spacious. This was my first visit and very happy so far. They said I needed over $8000 worth of work before a cleaning could be done. Recently traveled to Illinois and went to see my old dentist. Not all of that work was necessary! My teeth were cleaned, fillings were taken care of. No caps were needed and my total bill was $650. Something like this happened to me 15 years ago in Bradenton Florida. My dentist sold the practice. After my first cleaning with the new dentist I was told I needed over $6000 worth of work. I was leaving the next day to visit family in Illinois and Saw my cousin who was a dentist. After they took their own x-rays and checked by two dentists, I did not need any work done other than getting my teeth cleaned. It's cheaper for me to fly and visit my cousin or a friend in Illinois then have dental work done in the Florida area!!

One broken tooth needed a crown, and one tooth needed an extraction with a bone graft. It was all completed in an efficient manner and most importantly--painlessly! I was informed my insurance will cover it in December, but if I wanted my cleaning today, I'd have to pay out of pocket. This was completely unexpected, and it's frustrating that no one checked or informed me ahead of time. One of the staff even said they knew about this since last night! Poor communication and a big waste of my time. Honestly, they should've covered the $89 -- that's cheaper than the two hours I lost.
