I live in Montana and was looking for a photographer in the Sonoma County area around Thanksgiving as our family would be traveling to have Thanksgiving with my 97 year old mom. She responded to my email quickly and set a date. She was sensitive to my mom's mobility issues and found a great location for our family photos. The whole session was enjoyable for all the family. Sarah was nothing short of wonderful. She was very accommodating and was always available by phone or email. She helped me with the process of planning out photos on our wedding day, which was quite a task in doing so being two time zones apart. Sarah and her assistant made us laugh the entire time and made or photos were frankly perfect. After we got our final pictures back I realized the lengths they went to get the shot during the ceremony. They literally climbed through the shrubs to capture our faces. I started looking for a wedding photographer based on recommendations, but being a Sonoma county transplant I ran out of people to ask pretty quickly. I turned to Yelp, and just started looking through highly rated local talent- and finding their websites. Sarah has a large following of loyal admirers. Looking through years of pictures- I saw a very common theme- that all the pictures featured genuinely happy people. No one looked stiff or forced or posed. From the first point of contact Sarah was gracious, helpful, and so easy to work with. My entire family loved Sarah- both she and her assistant were on point the day of the wedding, and worked so tirelessly through every stage of the wedding, capturing beautiful images. I never expected to love all the pictures, but I do. My husband and I got choked up by the beautiful work. Sarah just understood us, and got into the redwoods to capture our naturey, rustic look. We couldn't be happier. We did not have a wedding coordinator, and the whole wedding party/and my family were so impressed that Sarah and her assistant and the amazing DJ could be so communicative and strategic and create a lovely organized flow based on a loose timetable I made. I was lucky enough to find Sarah through a Google search as I was looking for a photographer to do my engagement pictures (and then hopefully wedding ones). We met up and did a consultation and I instantly had a liking toward Sarah! She is so easy to converse with, and is very attentive when you are describing what you want out of the shoot. My engagement pictures were taken at the Point Reyes shipwreck in September 2015. I could not have been happier with them! My husband and I are new to the Sonoma County area and are expecting our first child in a month or so. I wanted to capture this once in a lifetime experience, the changes in my figure, and to have a snapshot to share with our family and friends around the world on how we're doing. I wanted to have a peaceful experience capturing this amazing transformational moment. With her very affordable pricing, I didn't have much expectations after my husband found Sarah's online ad, but was excited after seeing her website and previous work. We've taken our share of pictures, and Sarah is an absolute pleasure to work with! She is accommodating and creative. I can't think of one idea or request that she denied, and she really enhanced everything we could bring to the table. We took photos on a beautiful, sunny day, after Sarah and I had both scoped out the best day to shoot. The farm property we took pictures at was a spectacular setting. We had two outfits, and she had a nice place for us to change. She injected levity, and kept us focused on the moment. Our little yorkiepoo mutt dog made a cameo in a few pictures, and the rest of the time enjoyed flirting around with Sarah's border collie. We ended up with spectacular shots and received tons of positive feedback on Sarah's work after posting them to our friends. Yes, that belly heart shot is one of our favorites from that day, which Sarah has insured is forever a cherished memory. I discovered Sarah in the process of looking through a ton of different photographers websites as I was planning my surprise engagement to my now fiance at a winery in Napa. I really liked Sarah's style and her ability to capture wonderful live action shots which was key for me since she would be taking the photographs as I popped the question. As I communicated with Sarah, I was stuck by friendly personality, openness and communications. Even though we had never met she was genuinely excited for my engagement and was very helpful, even working directly with the winery to understand their photography restrictions. Since I couldn't come to CA before my engagement, we met about 30 minutes early and she quickly helped me setup and figure out how to arrange things so that we got the best pictures. I followed the yelp reviews and I am so glad I did! Sarah took pictures of our very small and private wedding in Sonoma. She was a pleasure to work with, in all aspects. She worked out a budget that fit our very limited needs. She was very flexible and accommodating in terms of the place, the location, and the terms of the contract. She arrived on time, but we were running late. She was kind enough not to charge us for the extra time, even though she was actually taking some photos of us during that time! During the photo shoot that followed the ceremony Sarah gave great advice on the poses and the adjustments, but at the same time she was "going with the flow" and allowing us to just be ourselves. And because she is also a really fun and easy going person, we felt 100% comfortable, relaxed, and giggly ;) in front of the camera. We decided somewhat last minute to have a photographer for our rehearsal dinner in Sonoma and Sarah was able to do it in a pinch. She was punctual (which always scores major points with me) and she hit the ground running. She was able to maneuver inconspicuously in the background and captured some exceptional candid photos.
