Diane captured our wedding day so beautifully that words cannot describe how happy I am with the finished product. She was absolutely lovely to work with. I felt very comfortable with her. She came with an additional photographer as well, which was really nice. She has an eye for artistic shots and is wonderful at capturing candids! While we were getting ready Diane stayed and took shots of the bridal party and her additional photographer took pictures of the groomsmen getting ready. I would recommend her to anyone who needed a wedding photographer. I felt the price was very fair and the turnaround for the photos was in the time frame she quited me. She was also very quick to fix and adjust a minor mishap with a few photos. She was punctual on the day as well. I'm not sure a day has gone by since we received our May 13th wedding photos that I have not admired Diane's talented work. Her candid, photojournalistic style perfectly captured the magic of our day at Landmark Vineyards. Leading up to the wedding, Diane was very responsive and a pleasure to work with. We planned our wedding remotely from Boston, and Diane was able to fit in an engagement shoot and do a thorough venue walk-through while we were in California on a very tight schedule. Hiring Diane as our wedding photographer was maybe the best decision we made during the entire planning process! We were going for a very intimate, family-focused wedding day and Diane fit seamlessly into that. She came by the venue (a family member's backyard) a week or so before the wedding, so we got a chance to meet and walk around the property together to discuss portraits, shots of the ceremony, etc. And she saved me a major bridal meltdown by telling me (weeks in advance) that daylight savings time would be occurring days before our wedding, changing what time the sun set! So helpful and I was just happy we dealt without ahead of time so it didn't catch me off guard. Diane had Cathy Stencil assisting her and they worked so well together, really enjoyed them both. Being that we had a small backyard wedding there was no strict structure and certainly no wedding planner. We really appreciated Diane's flexibility, she was so accommodating to our schedule- which kept changing! The final product was amazing (900 photos between our rehearsal dinner and ceremony/reception!). It has been almost impossible to choose our favorites! Diane and Cathy photographed our wedding on 10/30/11, and we could not possibly be happier with the results. They were so easy to work with, and very professional. Our extended family recently convened a 3-generation reunion in Sonoma California with 22 people coming from both coasts. Through Bark we found Diane Askew. Her website was impressive, her rates were far more reasonable than some others, and she understood what we wanted, which was a mix of candids and more formal shots of the individual families and everybody together. We didn't need a lot of post-event processing, touch-up, etc. The end result was an impressive collection of lovely group shots and a large selection of candids with a high percentage of keepers. Diane did an amazing job capturing the magic and joy that surrounded our wedding day. She was a great communicator leading up to the big day. We did not get to meet prior to the day because we had a destination wedding and only arrived a couple days before the wedding. She arrived at our tiny 14 person event and fit in with everyone. My husband and I were not used to having professional photography and were nervous about that part of the day. She was very assuring and comforting. I had several ideas of pictures that i wanted and Diane was able to translate them into amazing pictures. She also had so many great ideas of her own. My dress was a little unusual and I loved it. Diane understood how I felt about it and worked really hard to get fabulous pictures of me in it. After the wedding, Diane rushed my pictures because I was having a reception at home since our wedding was so small. They arrived well in advance of when I needed them. Of all the things i had to deal with in planning an engagement in Sonoma from New Jersey, working with Diane was by far the easiest on my checklist. Diane was easily accessible, helpful, and produced quality images from what I have seen thus far. Diane was very accommodating in working around my surprise proposal -- she showed up early to the location, hid out of plain sight as I proposed (while capturing pictures with a larger lens), and then proceeded to photograph my fiance and I for the next hour and a half. Diane was very skilled in getting the right shots with the proper background and lighting and even offered up a few suggestions for poses. We were really pleased with Diane and her photography. We chose Diane because she offered the best rates and seemed easy to work with. We had some initial communications to sign the contract and then didn't have too much back-and-forth until the wedding day. She and her second photographer (Paulina) were really easy going and dealt well with a variety of family personalities (and a number of people who always blink in photos). As Diane and Paulina were shooting the "getting ready" shots, we discovered that the zipper on my dress was broken and wouldn't zip up the last couple inches. Paulina came to the rescue and stitched up the back of my dress so no one could tell!
