Tony was able to look through dozens of policies and find the best one for us, and we're saving nearly $200 a year, getting better coverage and having the peace of mind of knowing Tony will go to bat for us if needed. What the captive insurance agents won't tell you is that your claims are handled in a call center in another part of the world, and the agent that you worked with for years has nothing to do with the claims process. In March I made a request to change the address (called them). They say we need to get that in writing, I had to send them an email. It is July now and nothing changed. They say they do not receive anything. I forward them Sent to Them email, they promise to change it and nothing happens. I got so sick of this communication problem. Our agent Tony is never in the office and he does not answer his cell in weeks. I decided to cancel all my insurances with them and go with somebody else. Guess what, two week notice is not enough and I cannot reach them to cancel my policy. They still charged my bank account. I spoke with JoAnna (who could not change my address for months) and she assured me that I will get my money back to my account withing 7-10 business days. 10 days past, nothing. I spoke with her again. She said it is actually 14 business days now, they changed the policy. I wait again. But nothing. They just ask to wait again or do not respond at all. I call Insurance company directly. The say they did not even intend to return money to our account. It has been a month since then and we still did not receive our money back. Tony is not in the office, they say he is sick again. JoAnna is on maternity leave and nobody can tell why she was giving me wrong information. Melissa tried to call insurance company directly but instead hung up on me. When I called back she said and I quote "I tried to call them again so you can speak with them too but I do not know how to use that technology and accidentally dropped the call". She transferred me to Shawn and he advised me to communicate with insurance directly because there is nothing else they can do for me. I asked isn't it the whole purpose of having an agent who deals with insurance on my behalf. He just said that they do not get money for me cancelling insurance with them and advised to deal with insurance on my own. And I was their client for 2,5 years!
