Rarely do you find someone like Nikolai who is the trifecta of talent: fantastic technical skills (read: amazing pressure), listening skills (to tailor your session) and a deep diagnostic understanding of how the body's systems interact. For myself, the goal of a massage is first and foremost to be a physically therapeutic experience; to relieve very targeted pain/tension and enable better range of motion in problem areas on my body. I'm not looking to take a nap on the table, I'm looking for a therapist that understands the complex interplay of the musculoskeletal body system. Nikola was so receptive to explanations of what felt wrong in my body, but more importantly, he brought to each session a focus on diagnosing and understanding WHY tensions were being held where they were, and discussing how to relieve and prevent them. He employed a combination of classic massage techniques, kinetic bodywork, hot + cold therapy, some supplemental topicals/treatments, and (I cannot stress this enough) a comfortable and open environment to discuss exercise/physical habits that may have led to injuries and tightness. All the above added up to: leaving my apt feeling physically fantastic post session, as well as so much better educated about how to prevent and treat persistent stress and tension. I came in with severe pain and tightness in my shoulder due to a rotator cuff injury, and the fact that he was able to work around a recent stressor + congenital skeletal issues is pretty impressive. YES, the price tag here is on the high end of bodywork type services I've even received, but between the high cost of living in Aspen and the amazing service provided, I cannot recommend Nikolai with more enthusiasm. Left a message and sent a txt and she got back to me that night and we set up a time. After securing an appointment, I made the trip to Aspen and came in to the tidy office with the lower back thing, crappy posture a gammy knee and a forearm burn from the BBQ. She took the time to understand what was going on and told me straight up how she could help but also let me know what I'd need to do and be responsible for. After just one 90 minute session, I was feeling lighter and free of knee and lower back issues I came in with. Also became very aware of the way I had been holding myself and the improvement that's been made. A super bonus is that night I had the best sleep I've had in years. I called his office and made an appointment with him. When I arrived, I was seen by someone else. I was seen by many people actually. I met Dr. Pevny on my way out of the business. The physicians assistant who saw me is not an in-network provider. I am now expected to pay the entire bill because it is out of network. I have tried since January to resolve this problem with the doctors office and they refuse to call me back. A patient should not be expected to walk around a doctors office and ask everyone who sees them whether or not they are in-network, when the patient made an appointment with the doctor himself and he is listed as in-network on the insurance company website. I have tried for five months to resolve this problem with Dr. Pevny's office. No one has bothered to call me back. On top of this, right after I was seen, I called to request a copy of my x-rays. No one called me back for that either. I do not live in Aspen and I cannot go to this business and resolve this problem in person. For this reason they get two stars. I cannot imagine what would've happened had I needed help from them immediately after visiting the office. I'd still be waiting. How the doctors office treats you is part of the care that you get. If they are not interested in helping their patients you should not do business with them.

The receptionist on the phone was extremely nice and was able to get me in to see Dr Eileen the same day. After arriving and stepping into the office I felt so at peace, the ambiance and diffusers they had going were so lovely along with all the pretty orchids. Dr. Eileen took me back to the chiro room and explained everything she was doing in detail. She used a some tools like the activator and percussion in a gentle yet effective way which I really appreciate. After doing my adjustment I was already starting to feel so much better but to end my session, Dr. Eileen attached some electro massager (can't remember what it's called) to my problem areas and allowed me to rest with them for about 25 minutes which was AMAZING. My entire experience was so positive and felt so healing and peaceful. I'm grateful for meeting and being worked on by Dr Eileen. Not only is she a master at her craft, she is so kind and genuine and does such a great job at making you feel calm and at home while making you physically feel better too.
