History
Established in 2009.
after Sarah passed her Foundation course on Safe Teaching.
The business first started out in Hesketh Bank where Sarah taught a weekly class. Unfortunately, over the first two years, class numbers dropped and so the business moved to Penwortham. This proved to be a good move as the business has grown and developed. Sarah now teaches two regular classes per week, runs a beginners crash course every 6 weeks, and organises regular belly dance events (haflas).
Sarah is still based in Penwortham, just outside of Preston, but she does travel elsewhere for events and jobs. She also attends workshops whenever she can around the country to further develop herself.
Meet the Business Owner: Sarah G.
Sarah has been learning belly dance for many years now and has been teaching since 2009. She actually never imagined teaching originally, but was encouraged to participate in the JWAAD Foundation Course on Safe teaching which she did and passed. Therefore, Sarah felt that she needed to use the knowledge attained, and so started her first class. The class ran well for about a year before numbers dropped, so she changed the day of the class. Again, it went well before numbers dropped. It was at this time that Sarah decided to move to Penwortham, a larger catchment area, and this proved to be a success.
Sarah has been involved in several performances projects organised by others, both on the stage and elsewhere. She has also been involved with organising performances with her students for numerous events, including Preston Guild (2012), the Penwortham Gala since 2012, plus the Major's Ball in Blackburn (2012), Sequins On My Balcony, a HUGE charity event which raised £500 and more
