If you weeks ago I got a good look in the mirror and realized just how far I had fallen out of shape. Truth be told I freaked out a little bit. Once I calm down I started doing my research. I knew that based on my age I needed to find a specific type of training. I know what to eat. I know how to "train" but i also know how to put it off "until next week". it is so easy to make excuses when you only answer to yourself but finding a program and committing to it drives me. I was really shocked at the variety of trainers. You have the rah rah coach, You have the coddler, you have the push you til you drop types etc. I lived in the gym for years. I loved it. Then kids, and age, and life became the excuses and i just quit doing it. I needed to find someone who could build on my experience and modify my workouts to my age and new goals. I no longer need to spend 2 hours workouts 5 days a week in the gym pushing way to much weight trying to be a better athlete. I spent quite a bit of time both by phone and email chatting with Elin about my goals. First thing i noticed. Elin listens. He took in the history i gave him and what i would like to achieve moving forward. Elin spent over a week digesting the info i provided on his questionnaires. He clearly was looking for the right fit. The beauty of Elin Fitness Redefined is the great and varied type and styles of trainers. Day one workout. I have a workout with Ray. He reminds me of my best workout partners from my youth. He is a lifelong athlete. His freestyle wrestling background as well as long term military service let me know immediately that i was working with a guy who would push me in the right way. Elin checked in on my at the end of each of the first 3 weeks. He didn't just ask the tired "how's it going" type of questions but rather wanted specifics just to make sure i was getting what i needed and he committed to. Client service is a big deal but i actually feel like he knows he can change lives with proper training and that starts with matching the right people. I told Elin i wanted to work for 10 weeks and see where i was. I have already seen my sessions getting more demanding and Ray tracks my rest times and my need for recovery between sets has dropped dramatically. That is so cool and it motivates me even more. After a quick consultation, Mary didn't try to blame me or tell me what I was doing wrong but more so, what I was missing in my diet. She actually speaks your language and at least in my particular case, did not force me into a fad diet or cutting out of any of my beloved foods, just better portioning. I really appreciate her non judgmental nature and how down to earth she is. I am SO excited to share my experience with Absway Fitness. I've been on a long fitness journey for…read moremany years since college trying different diets and fitness approaches. I had my best success with the help of a $$$ trainer in 2013 (200 down to 158 over a year before my wedding). Ten years and four kids later, I'd been working steadily to lose with diet only, but kept plateauing around 170. I avoided gyms and trainers because of the cost, but then a former trainer reached out with an offer I couldn't refuse. Less than $100 for a month-long fitness challenge that included his on-call support (phone and text), exercises that fit in my schedule anytime and required minimal equipment (mat, roller, bands), optional nutritional guidance, and a weekly live group training session using inexpensive equipment I already had in my house. What a deal!! The Absway Challenge really helped me hone in on my goal by adding in an easy-to-follow daily exercise regimen that included cardio and weight bearing exercises that boosted my weight loss over the month and toned me all over. In conjunction with the Dukan diet I was already following, the Absway approach helped me lose 3% body fat and inches all over my body (especially my waist). I had zero expectation going in except that the contest would be fun and that accountability would be helpful on days I didn't want to exercise. I am blown away at how toned my abs are and the muscles I've already built in my arms. In addition, I also made a big fitness goal: a healthy BMI. This is the first time since college over 25 years ago that I'm at a healthy BMI! I can scarcely believe it. I can honestly say I would not have gotten here without the accountability in this group. I made my 30-Day Challenge Goal of 15lbs lost this month which was huge, but the BMI milestone feels so much bigger. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for all of your encouragement, support, and accountability this month. Many days I'm looking at those stairs for the circuit or needing to start my own squat, lunge, plank challenge and thinking "nah- that looks hard. I can just skip it today." But then I think of all of the Absway community who are tackling this with me and it helps me reframe that this seemingly impossible task is only 15-20 minutes in 20-30 second intervals. It is so empowering to know you're beside me and that so empowering and together we FIND A WAY! If you're looking for a jump start to your fitness goal, need to add weight bearing exercise to help build muscle and reduce bone loss, or looking to break a weight-loss plateau with direct support from a trainer and an awesome community, highly recommend.

I have no issues with the "Flexologists" however they seem to turnover quite frequently and while…read morethey all are trained in the stretch lab technique they all have their own variations and flow for stretching clients. My issue is with the lack from management to understand that sometimes listening to the client about taking a break is just as important. I had been going twice a week for over six months and felt I needed to see if I could manage my "stiffness" on my own for a while. I had just been charged for a new plan of sessions and so had four remaining streches on my account when I asked I could take a break and come back in 4-6 months and use the remaining paid stretches. The manager, Brendan, assured me he "had me" and things would be on hold until I decided to return. Then, this past month, I had a new charge on my credit card for a new set of stretches, and when I reached out, no offer to refund those charges and if I wanted to cancel it would require a 30-day notice, which I know is in the contract, however I had asked not to have any new stretches added to my account several months prior and he ignored that request. In my opinion they should have reached out to me prior to charging my credit card with new stretches since I was on a break and not just charged my card without letting me know. When I wrote an email back to Brendan, he did not even respond to it! Needless to say I am very disappointed with how this was handled and will find other options for stretching moving forward.
